Monday episode 5276 - 18/04/11

After finding a fake ID in Xavier’s jacket, Gina fears Xavier is getting involved with something dodgy. To find more clues, Gina looks up Xavier on Facebook. Gina finds photos of Xavier and Miranda together and guesses she’s behind Xavier’s suspicious behaviour. Gina is explaining her worries to John when Miranda comes into the club. Gina quickly introduces herself, trying to suss out the new girl in Xavier’s life. Xavier spots Gina and Miranda in conversation and fears he’ll soon be exposed as a high school student, and not the uni student he’s been telling Miranda he is. Fortunately for Xavier, Gina never talks about his schooling and Miranda just likes him more after meeting his mum. However Gina is eager to find out more and puts through a friend request to Miranda on Facebook. How long until Xavier’s lie is exposed?

Roo continues to support Nicole when she presents her new Surf Club uniform designs to John. This time they are a hit and John is very impressed. Nicole and Roo celebrate with lunch when Nicole starts to feel pains and fears she’s going into labour. Roo calls Sid and he confirms Nicole is experiencing Braxton-Hicks contractions and agrees to stay with her until they stop. When Nicole excuses herself to go to the bathroom, Roo and Sid have to confront the issue of his admission of attraction from last week. Sid notes Roo has been avoiding him ever since he said it. Wary of Marilyn’s sensitivity to the issue, Roo admits she feels she can’t afford to be close with Sid and is angry at him for his admission.

Bianca comes back from a teacher’s conference to find Irene and Liam very concerned about April’s constant cleaning and tidying. Liam suggests April may have some sort of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but when they go to confront April about it, she goes missing. Dex later finds April and she reveals she’s avoiding any sort of intervention they might be planning. Dex implores her to talk to Bianca but April is angry at Dex for telling Liam and orders him to stay out of her life. When April arrives back home she pretends everything is okay. Determined to find out the truth, Bianca messes up April’s room, challenging her to ignore it. April can’t and soon curls up into a foetal ball, sobbing. The gravity of April’s mental state can no longer be denied by either of them.

Tuesday episode 5277 - 19/04/11

Marilyn is close to putting aside her worries about Roo and Sid getting friendly when she overhears about Nicole’s false labour and how Roo and Sid were looking after her. Instantly suspicious that neither Sid or Roo told her this had happened, Marilyn jumps to the conclusion that they were deliberately hiding the event and fears that Roo is usurping her position as Nicole’s birthing partner. Both Sid and Roo regret not telling Marilyn but admit they didn’t because they knew she’d overreact. Morag gets wind of Marilyn’s concerns and goes hard at Roo. Roo defends herself, telling Morag she’s not a home wrecker. Marilyn confronts Roo, telling her no-one is getting between her and the baby. But Roo feels she’s being unfairly attacked, certain that she’s not doing anything wrong by Marilyn, Nicole or the baby.

April apologises to Dex for telling him to get out of her life, acknowledging he was only helping her. Bianca is concerned she never saw April’s anxiety for what it is and is determined to be an active force in her recovery. Bianca offers to escort her to therapy and reads up on the disorder, but April finds her enthusiasm overbearing. Worked up, April tells Bianca she makes her feel inadequate and suggests that might be the cause of her OCD. But having calmed down after a walk, April admits she doesn’t know what the cause is and Bianca promises to be there for her during the recovery.

Gina is very worried about the impression Xavier will get once he finds out she’s ‘friended’ his girlfriend Miranda on Facebook, and rightly so. When Xavier learns of the friending he instantly freaks out, sure Miranda will soon learn he’s actually a high school student. Dex recommends coming clean but Xavier decides he’ll just exercise preventative measures, berating his mum for interfering in his social life. Gina doesn’t get a chance to use the lie she prepared earlier, and Xavier storms off. But at school, just as Xavier is certain everything is under control, he’s flawed when Gina introduces Miranda as their guest speaker. Xavier is busted!

Wednesday episode 5278 - 20/04/11

Romeo is determined to jump-start his life and get his Surf School business going. Romeo starts to lose enthusiasm on his first day, however, when his first client turn out to have their challenges. Romeo’s second client is the very attractive Jasmine, a student at Summer Bay High and things are looking up. But Romeo soon figures out the only reason Jasmine has put her hand up lesson is to flirt with the shirtless instructor on the posters. Liam and Miles encourage him to keep at it, but while Romeo’s promised not to give up, he can’t help but feel disheartened by a dud first day of business.

Xavier is devastated that Miranda has discovered he’s actually in high school. Miranda feels she doesn’t know Xavier and is reluctant to give him a second chance, but Xavier argues that if they got on great when she only knew half of him, they can only get on better when she knows the real him. Xavier seems genuine in his plea and so Miranda agrees to go on one date with him. Xavier is about to finish his delivery shift for the night and head to his date when Angelo springs a last minute order for him. Eager not to stuff up his second chance with Miranda, Xavier turns up on her door step and explains he has to push back their date until later. Miranda agrees to wait but when Xavier comes back to the scooter the pizzas have been stolen. Xavier orders another five pizzas from another place so he doesn’t get into trouble for leaving the order unattended. But when he looses the keys to the scooter he has no choice but to ask Miranda for a lift. Miranda reluctantly agrees to bail him out, and proceeds to witness him lying to the customer to explain the five pizzas that aren’t from Angelo’s. When she sees Xavier lie to Angelo about what happened to the scooter Miranda admits she’s had enough – all she sees in Xavier is a little kid who lies to everyone. Miranda tells Xavier he needs to grow up and she doesn’t have enough time to wait for that to happen.

After her false labour pains, Nicole has started to worry how she’ll feel after the baby is born and Marilyn takes the baby away. Nicole wishes there would be someone at the birth that was only there for her and thinks of Roo as the obvious person for the job. However, knowing Marilyn wouldn’t like it, Roo declines the offer. Nicole talks to Marilyn about it, who also thinks it’s a bad idea. Morag encourages Nicole to fight for what she wants; she is the birth mother and what she wants matters. With this advice in mind, Nicole heads over to see Marilyn but is bamboozled by the amount of baby stuff Marilyn has bought in preparation. Overwhelmed, Nicole explains to Angelo that seeing all the preparation made her realise that she would like to keep her baby.

Thursday episode 5279 - 21/04/11

Concerned after not being around for the rehearsal labour, Marilyn is determined to be by Nicole’s side at all costs and organise everything before the real thing. Nicole can’t help feel smothered by Marilyn and Morag reminds Nicole she has rights as the birth mother. However Nicole can’t feel she can speak up and soon Marilyn’s fussing becomes unbearable.

After hearing Nicole’s admission that she would like to keep the baby, Angelo urges Roo to talk to Nicole. But Roo doesn’t want to cause more drama. By the time Angelo comes by to check on Nicole, she’s silently suffering under Marilyn’s watch. At the first moment of distraction, Angelo and Nicole make a break for it and spend the day out on a boat with Romeo to relax. Marilyn is furious that Nicole has runaway out to sea. But Morag gives Marilyn a stern talking to, reminding her of Nicole’s rights. Nicole considers talking to Marilyn about keeping the baby but when she comes back, Marilyn changes her position on Roo being at the birth and Nicole feels too guilty to take her baby away.

Charlie keeps turning up at Angelo’s, claiming to check on Ruby but Brax suspects otherwise, despite Charlie’s claims that she feels nothing for him.

Meanwhile, Colleen and Leah find two young boys locked in a van near the beach. They let the boys out and call Charlie who’s first reaction is to call DOCS. However the mother, Cathy, turns up at the Diner looking for them. She explains they’re broke and she was at a job interview. Charlie doesn’t want to call DOCS on them so Leah asks Elijah if he can help them at all. As part of a long string of bad luck, Cathy’s van breaks down and is brought back to the car park. Charlie goes to investigate when she sees Brax fixing the car. Elijah explains he asked Brax for his help with Cathy, and Brax got her a job at the fish factory where his mum works. Charlie feels she’s seriously misjudged Brax but he walks away before she has a chance to apologise. Later in an empty Angelo’s, Charlie goes to Brax and pulls him into a passionate kiss.

Friday episode 5280 - 22/04/11

Ruby and Casey conspire to get Charlie and Brax to play nice, certain their conflict is only making staying together harder. Little do they know Charlie and Brax are already playing nice in the back seat of Charlie’s car. Having now accepted her feelings for Brax, Charlie urges that they keep their relationship a secret for now. Meanwhile Ruby and Casey plan a picnic for the four of them, hoping Charlie and Brax will be able to sort out their differences. Brax and Charlie put on a show for the kids, and they’re happy their plan is working. Casey and Ruby leave them alone to get better acquainted and Brax talks about the possibility of telling them. Charlie gets annoyed, telling Brax he knows why they can’t. Ruby and Casey come back and witness the body language and facial expressions, resigned they’re at each others throats again. Later Charlie explains keeping it a secret is only temporary and Brax understands… for now.

Indi receives a mysterious text from a secret admirer who turns out to be Keiran, a boy Indi hooked up with at a party last week to make Romeo jealous. Indi isn’t too keen on him, but when Romeo walks into the Diner she amps up the flirtation. Keiran asks her out on a date and she says she’ll get back to him. Hearing the veiled rejection, Romeo tells Keiran he bombed out. However Keiran doesn’t see it that way and gives a somewhat malicious response. Worried by Keiran’s reaction, Romeo warns Indi not to fall for the sweet guy act. Indi refuses to listen to Romeo and accepts Keiran’s invitation. Will Indi live to regret it?

Elijah comes by a young man named Billy who comes to the shelter looking for a place to stay, having slipped through the cracks of the social welfare system. Elijah is determined to help him. However the weekend descends, the shelter is full and there’s nowhere for Billy to go. Having run out of options, Elijah asks Miles if it’s okay that Billy bunks in Elijah’s caravan. Miles says that’s fine but Billy is completely against it; having been the victim of abuse he fears this is the same situation. Elijah tries to comfort Billy but he lashes out violently, leaving Elijah a bloody mess on the floor.
