Channel 5 and Endemol are close to a £200 million deal for Big Brother, say reports.

According to The Guardian, the broadcaster may reach an agreement in time to start airing the show in August.

The newspaper alleges that there were plans to announce the deal this week, but "legal wrangles" have held up final talks.

A three-week run of the Celebrity spin-off, followed by an autumn and winter traditional series could potentially be delivered before the end of 2011. The show would then return to its normal format of Celebrity Big Brother in January and non-celebrity edition in the summer in 2012.

Talks between Channel 5 and Endemol broke down last year, but the broadcaster's owner Richard Desmond is thought to still be keen to bring the reality show to the channel.

Headlines in the Desmond-owned Daily Star earlier this week about Cheryl Cole potentially hosting the new series fuelled speculation that an agreement for the show's return was close. Cole's management team have since dismissed the speculation linking their client to the programme.

Big Brother will definitely return on Channel 5 this summer, according to reports.

The Daily Star Sunday has claimed that Channel 5 will sign a five-year deal with Endemol in the next few days. As previously rumoured, the show will return with a four-week Celebrity run in August, immediately followed by a regular series in September.

Among the celebrities being considered for the summer stint are ex-Harrods boss Mohamed Al-Fayed, The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs and The Wanted singer Max George. Meanwhile, Charlie Sheen will apparently be offered a "big-money" deal.

Joanna Lumley, Peaches Geldof, Prince Harry's ex Chelsy Davy, Abbey Clancy and Tinie Tempah are also said to be on the producers' wishlist.

Additonally, controversial football pundit Andy Gray, Home and Away actress Samara Weaving and boxer Ricky Hatton could be offered deals to take part in the reality show.

"We are giving television fans exactly what they wanted - Big Brother back on our screens this summer," a source said. "The deal will be signed over the next couple of days but everything has been agreed. It's a really exciting time for Channel 5 and everyone is determined to make this new era of Big Brother the best yet.

Renovation work has already started on the house, which will be similar to those in previous series but with additional improvements, the report adds.

"It will still have things like the Diary Room. The show's format will also stay the same so fans don't have to worry. It will still be the same programme that they've all grown to love over the years but with a bigger, brighter and sexier future.

"It's going to have a bit of a revamp with some new features but all the favourite items will be back, including the 24-hour live feed."

It was recently reported that Cheryl Cole could be offered a £5m deal to host the show.

Big Brother voiceover artist Marcus Bentley has revealed that he wants to continue narrating the show on its new home.

It was announced earlier this month that Channel 5 had signed a two year deal with Endemol to air Big Brother, beginning with a celebrity run in August.

Bentley's distinctive Geordie accent - known as 'The Voice Of Big Brother' - became synonymous with the reality show and he has admitted that he wouldn't like to see someone else take the job.

According to the Daily Star Sunday, he said: "All you need are great housemates and amazing tasks! The thought of somebody else doing it would break my heart."

Writing on Twitter, he added: "I've got no news on BB at the moment guys! I'm chuffed to bits that it's back + on 5! Any news + my followers will be the first to know! XXx (sic)"

Former housemate Luke Marsden replied saying: "if you don't narrate the new series it will be a travesty," to which Bentley commented: "I know !!! Cheers Luke!"

Emma Willis has been tipped to present the show, since original host Davina McCall has already ruled herself out.

The X Factor rejects John and Edward Grimes have signed up to enter the Big Brother house.
The twin brothers, better known as Jedward, will scoop £500,000 apiece to star in Channel 5's upcoming celebrity version of the reality series.
A source tells The Sun, "The lads can't believe their luck - a cool half a million each."
Big Brother was scrapped by Channel 4 last year but it is now being revived by 5 bosses, who are thought to have asked Imogen Thomas and vice girl Helen Wood to join the show.
It's not the first time Jedward will be under Big Brother's watchful eye - last year, the siblings entered the house to perform Blink-182's All The Small Things in the garden as part of a task.

MTV presenter Alice Levine is the new favourite to land the Big Brother presenting role on Channel 5.

Levine, whose TV credits include 4 Music series Pop Up Pop Quiz and Celebrity Bites, has landed the job of replacing Davina McCall, according to the Daily Star.

Levine is a relative unknown, but she has apparently impressed producers with her bold style and they believe she will be a hit with the show's fans.

Emma Willis, Brian Dowling, Stacey Solomon and Myleene Klass were previously linked to the series, but Channel 5 has yet to confirm any details about presenting duties.

Celebrity Big Brother starts next month. The non-celebrity version will follow in September.

The iconic eye logo for Channel 5's first series of Big Brother has been revealed.

The remodelled emblem has been stripped back from some of the more extravagant designs used during the programme's 11-year run on Channel 4 in order to "set the tone" for the new version of the reality show.

"The new branding really jumps off the page for us and is something that I think symbolises Channel 5's values - straight-talking, direct and not afraid to be different," the channel's director of programmes Jeff Ford commented.

"I am really proud of the work the creative team have done to develop the branding
for the show, which will set the tone for the whole series."

Gavin Henderson, Creative Director for Big Brother at Endemol, added: "The eye logo is part of Big Brother's DNA. This new design moves the brand forward and perfectly captures our confidence in relaunching this iconic series on Channel 5."

The new artwork, which was produced by Channel 5's in-house creative team and branding specialists Hello Charlie, will air from today in short teaser clips during commercial breaks.

Big Brother is believed to be launching on Channel 5 in August with a celebrity edition, followed by a regular series. The eye logo will run - unmodified - for both series.

Ultimate Big Brother housemate Brian Dowling was yesterday confirmed as the show's new host, while Emma Willis follows the format to Channel 5 as the presenter of new spinoff Big Brother's Bit on the Side.

Marcus Bentley announced on Twitter today that he will continue as the voice of Big Brother.

Channel 5 launches its 'When Bruv Takes Over' Big Brother advertising campaign tonight.

Former housemates and celebrities who have appeared on the show over the past decade filmed a celebratory promo for the reality programme's new series, which will debut at 9.55pm this evening.

New host Brian Dowling, winners Craig Phillips and Brian Belo, Nikki Grahame and celebrities John McCririck and Mutya Buena are among the ex-contestants involved in the 60-second ad campaign.

Devised by Channel 5's in-house agency C5 Creative, the ad is designed to "remind viewers of some of the unforgettable TV characters that have passed through the house".

Channel 5 director of programmes Jeff Ford commented: "As the countdown to the return of Big Brother continues, this promo captures the vibrancy which has made the show such a hit.

"With the new series now just around the corner, I'm sure the promo will whet the appetite of Big Brother fans across the country."

Channel 5 creative director Rich Thrift added: "The promo is a no-holds-barred celebration of the return of one of the best-loved TV shows of the last decade.

SARAH Ferguson has given Celebrity Big Brother the royal seal of approval.

Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, is the latest A-list celeb being lined up for the Channel 5 reality show.

Station bosses are determined to make this year’s Big Brother series the best yet by booking some of the biggest names in showbiz.

And they believe Fergie’s appearance will be TV gold.

The 51-year-old royal, who cleared her £2million debt earlier this year, has been offered a lucrative deal.

It means the reality show will have VIP fans as Princesses Beatrice, 22, and Eugenie, 21, are bound to watch their mum.

And show insiders are getting excited that even the Queen could take a look.

One said: “Fergie will be brilliant in the house and people will rush to tune in and see what she’s getting up to.”

The fly-on-the-wall show returns next month after it was rescued by Channel 5 bosses.

Fans will be treated to three weeks of celeb-filled fun. Those already earmarked to appear include Irish twins Jedward, 19, reality star Kerry Katona, 30, and Essex babe Amy Childs, 21.

As soon as CBB finishes, the normal version will kick off.

Ultimate BB champion Brian Dowling, 35, will host the main event while sexy Emma Willis, 35, takes charge of the spin-off called Big Brother’s Bit On The Side.

Last night it was announced that skincare firm Freederm will be the show’s official sponsors.

The regular series of Big Brother will run for 63 days from when 14 housemates enter the house on Friday night.

Series producer Leon Campbell revealed details about the new series on Channel 5's Big Brother's Bit On The Side. Speaking with host Emma Willis, he revealed teasers about the seven males and seven females who will go into the Elstree compound tomorrow.

"Well it's that special mix, you know, they've gotta make us laugh, cry," Campbell explained of the group. "Very quickly, we've gotta get them. But it's also about layers, looking for layers in people. They've got to last a long time; 63 days."

He declined to reveal if more will enter during the series, but described the initial group as being an "even mix" of males and females who are under 30, with "most" describing themselves as single.

Running through the 14, Campbell offered a teaser of each housemate:

1. Female, from Bromley. Likes to climb trees and walk naked with heels on around the house. On top of that, she can do the limbo so well her head touches the ground.
2. Male, from Enfield, North London. Studying to be a therapist. Single, and would like to find a soulmate in the house. Interestingly, can fit his entire fist in his mouth.
3. Male, 22, from Cheshire. An entrepreneur, says he is 150% Conservative, and considers himself upper-class. Doesn't have a sense of smell either. Had the biggest hands at school and is yet to meet anyone with bigger hands.
4. Female, 25, from Manchester. Not a girly girl, hates talking about shopping and handbags. Says she only takes ten minutes to get ready.
5. Male, 23, from Peckham, South London. Runs a record label and produces his own music, has his own little studio at home. Claims he pulled Pixie Lott five years ago. And used to model for Baby Gap as a child.
6. 18-year-old female from South Shields. Obsessed with pink, claims to have a gay chihuahua and is convinced she's going to marry Dappy from N-Dubz.
7. Female, 30, from London. Model and holistic healer. Describes herself as a different species; certainly not human.
8. 20-year-old, male, from Solihull. Fat people make him angry. He also says that if he listens to sad songs he'll mime it to himself in the mirror, and he's so good at it he can move himself to tears.
9. Female, 28, from the Wirral. A club hostess, but doesn't often strip, just gets paid for companionship. Also says she's got a walk-in wardrobe with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of clothes.
10. Male, 28, from Windsor. Big animal lover this one; he recently saw a frog die in his next door neighbour's pond and picked it up, blew air into it and brought it back to life.
11. Female, 19, from Tamworth. A keen wrestler, she says she goes to the gym twice a day and eats six or seven times a day, and spends all her money on food and protein.

12. Male, 27, from Newcastle. Works out six days a week, but regularly parties until 8am. His mum is his best friend.
13. Female, 21, from Oxford. Says she speaks five languages. Can shake her bum so fast it looks like a blur.
14. Male, 30, from Weston-super-Mare. He cries every time he gets his hair cut. He has got more scout badges than anyone else, by lying to his troop.

Describing what Channel 5 hopes for from the series, Campbell explained: "We just want it to be fun. They're all quite young, sexy, fun, up for it, and that's what we want. We want it to be just exciting to watch, and there's a good mix of people in there; 14 is quite a big number."

Asked by Willis if Big Brother will be tougher on the new group, he said: "Big Brother is tough when Big Brother needs to be tough. We want them to have fun, but at the same time, Big Brother is in charge. Always in charge."

Finally, Campbell refused to confirm if the Celebrity Big Brother house gym would remain, but said that "a few cosmetic" changes would be made to the house. However, he added that these would not take place "all at once", saying: "Big Brother always has things up his sleeves."

Celebrity Big Brother concludes tonight at 9pm on Channel 5, while the regular series begins with a 90-minute launch show tomorrow at 9pm.

Pamela Anderson has been confirmed as a surprise housemate for tomorrow night's launch of regular Big Brother.

After crowning Paddy Doherty champion of Celebrity Big Brother, host Brian Dowling made the shock announcement that the Baywatch star will join 14 brand new housemates when the show launches on Friday.

Anderson was called to the Diary Room shortly after Doherty's interview, where she told Big Brother: "It's fun to be here."

She added: "I'm going to give them the ride of their lives, and leave a skidmark on every one of them."

Big Brother said that her appearance will be their "little secret", to which she replied: "Shhh!"

It is currently unclear whether Anderson will be a fully-fledged housemate or if her appearance will only be temporary.

The actress had been rumoured to be entering the regular Big Brother house earlier this week, after originally being strongly linked to the celebrity edition, which concluded tonight.

Doherty walked away with the Celebrity Big Brother crown earlier tonight, beating out other favourites like Jedward, Kerry Katona and Amy Childs.

Dowling had already hinted at a surprise guest to be joining the regular series of Big Brother.

Pamela Anderson recently sued her ex-boyfriend for $1 million (£666,667) over his failure to buy her a condo.

The new series of Big Brother begins Friday on Channel 5 at 9.30pm.

Aaron Allard-Morgan has been crowned the winner of Big Brother 2011.

The 30-year-old beat Jay Mckray in the final public vote to emerge victorious from Channel 5's inaugural series of the reality show. He will take home £50,000 in prize money, plus the £990 he received as part of last week's twist.

The boys held hands as they waited on the sofa for host Brian Dowling to announce the result, which was met with a sizeable smattering of boos.

Aaron gasped and appeared to be on the verge of tears as he jumped up to hug Jay goodbye.

When Dowling spoke to Aaron again later amid a chorus of jeers, the father-of-one noted: "They don't sound happy do they?"

He nervously lingered at the bottom of the stairs, muttering "they hate me", before eventually sprinting up to the front doors to meet the public.

As he stepped out of the Elstree compound, Aaron was hit with a wall of boos while fireworks, confetti and smoke erupted around him. Once at the stage below, Dowling handed him a briefcase containing his prize money.

Alex Rose and Louise Cliffe finished third and fourth respectively earlier in tonight's final, while Tom O'Connell was evicted yesterday.
