I thought that at first but then I found out that Abi is 14 and he is 16 and she is in year 10 and he is in year 11 at school, so there actually only really one year apart in school age because she will be 15 in june

A big day for Michael dawns towards the end of the month as he eagerly prepares for the grand opening of the boxing club.

In a bid to make sure that everyone in the area knows about the business, Michael decides to attract some attention by parading scantily-clad women around Albert Square.

However, despite Michael's best intentions, the opening definitely won't be going without a hitch.

A Walford source said: "Michael is pulling out all the stops to make sure the grand opening is a success, much to the delight of the male residents in Albert Square! But as with most things in Walford, the evening doesn't quite go to plan..."

21st March

Lauren and Janine are worried about Whitney, but Janine is determined that they should not tell Ricky and Carol the truth about what's going on. Instead, they confide in Fatboy and Mercy about Whitney's situation, before Fatboy joins forces with Lauren to look for the troubled teenager. The pair arrive at the flat where Whitney was last seen, but Janine is already there and tells them that Whitney and Rob are both gone. As they decide to take a photo of Whitney to the police, Fatboy assures Lauren that Whitney will be fine - but Lauren isn't entirely convinced by his words of comfort.

Later, Fatboy tells Ian what has been happening to Whitney, while Lauren also shares the news with Max. Soon afterwards, Max and Lauren visit Ricky and Carol to fill them in on the situation and they're shocked. As the day continues, Janine arrives back from the police station and ends up in a confrontation with Ricky as they argue about why Janine didn't ask for help sooner. He tells her that he doesn't want Janine to be near the family anymore and that it's her fault if Whitney doesn't return home.

Meanwhile, Darren asks Jodie to babysit George again but there's an accident at the salon and George's hand is burned on some curling tongs. An ambulance is called and a paramedic tends to the injury, explaining that the burn isn't serious but the situation could have been a lot worse. Heather is furious about what's happened and argues with Jodie, but Darren and Vanessa both defend her. Vanessa tells Heather that she's a waste of space and should be looking after her own child. The arguments prompt Darren to start planning to get a residence order, allowing George to stay with him permanently. Unhappy over the news, Jodie tells Darren that she isn't ready to be a stepmother and breaks up with him.

Elsewhere, Jay and Abi go on another date, but Abi goes overboard with make-up in preparation. Jodie sympathises with her and helps her pull off a last-minute 'make-under'. As the date gets under way, Jay and Abi visit the chip shop but Jay realises that he's lost his wallet. When Ian goes out the back for some forks, Abi and Jay make a run for it and steal their order of chips.

Alfie tells Kat that they should go away on holiday together, but Kat doesn't think it's the right time. Later, Alfie surprises Kat by asking whether they should try IVF. Kat considers the suggestion and when Jack comes into the pub, she asks him what he thinks, prompting him to advise that papering over the cracks of her relationship with Alfie may not be the best move. However, when Alfie tells Kat that he's decided to move into the B&B, she's not happy and admits that she doesn't want to be alone. Alfie tells Kat that he'll stay if she still loves him but wants to leave if she won't say it. Just as Alfie is about to leave, Kat tells him that she's willing to try IVF.

Meanwhile, Jack meets Michael in the pub and a mischievous Michael tries to use baby 'James' to attract women. When Ronnie returns home from a shopping trip, she reads a note from Jack which explains that he's at The Vic with James. Worried, Ronnie heads over to investigate and when she arrives, she asks Jack whether he's coming home with her. However, Jack informs her that he's in a business meeting with Michael. Ronnie takes James home, while Jack later makes a big business decision - telling Michael that he wants to work with him at the boxing gym on a full time basis.

Elsewhere, Darren is distracted at work as it's tough looking after George while carrying out his usual duties. At the same time, Heather visits a solicitor to discuss George's residence order but she's distraught to realise that she can't afford the legal fees to challenge Darren. Later, Darren is with a customer test-driving a car when he sees Heather rushing down the road in tears. He gets out of the vehicle to follow her, prompting the cunning customer to steal the car. This leads to a huge row with Max. As the day continues, Patrick tells Darren that George needs two parents. Realising he's right, Darren visits Heather and admits that he can't look after the baby alone. He leaves George with Heather and returns home, where Jodie announces that they can now be together again because George has gone. Darren agrees, but he doesn't seem entirely sure about the reunion.

Elsewhere, Max is furious to find Abi and Jay in a clinch; Tanya asks why Jane doesn't leave Ian and move out, but Jane says that she wants Bobby to have both his parents around; and Max and Vanessa argue about Abi not being a baby anymore.

24th March

Phil and Shirley return to the Square following their holiday and everyone is surprised to see that Phil's on crutches. Phil explains that he had a jet-ski accident, but Shirley later tells Heather that he actually had a funny turn on holiday and fell off a bar stool, so it's important that he isn't stressed anymore. However, Phil soon has a stressful situation to deal with when he finds that a skip has been placed outside The Arches, which is being used by the boxing club's builders. He quickly orders Michael to have the skip moved. Michael tries to get round Phil by offering him free membership at the gym, but withdraws the offer when Phil reveals his heart problems.

Later, Phil grows frustrated as a concerned Shirley is wrapping him up in cotton wool. He tells her that there was no funny turn at all on holiday - he merely fell off the bar stool. Phil then drags Shirley off, vowing to prove that there's nothing wrong with his heart. As they day continues, Phil watches on outside as a lorry lowers the skip down in front of the gym where it belongs.

Meanwhile, Jack tells Ronnie that he plans to quit his job at the car lot and run the gym with Michael full time. An unimpressed Ronnie goes to the car lot and tells Max that Jack is making a mistake. As Max doesn't know what Ronnie is talking about, he visits the flat to ask Jack what's going on, forcing Jack to reveal that he's quitting. Later, Ronnie tells Jack that he should stay on at the car lot because family comes first, making Jack feel guilty. Jack eventually decides to take her advice, but Max informs him that he's fired. With no other option but to work at the gym, Jack asks Ronnie if she's okay with the idea and she lies that she is. However, Ronnie later goes to see Phil and announces that she needs his help to get rid of Michael…

Elsewhere, Roxy turns up late at the salon, meaning that she has to face angry customers as well as Tanya and Syed. Later, Tanya catches Syed downloading the salon's client list. Syed is terrified that Tanya will reveal his sneaky behaviour, but she instead confesses that she's already downloaded the list herself.

Also today, Max goes round to Phil's and tells Phil to keep Jay away from Abi; Roxy enjoys fresh attention from Michael but Alfie warns her that he'll get under her skin; Dot is furious when she hears that Edward has taken Jim out for a walk in the park and a flutter on the horses; Alfie tries to sign Kat up for the gym in preparation for her IVF, but Kat isn't impressed; and Jay punches Max when Max claims that he's no better than Jase.

25th March

Still keen on the idea of IVF, Alfie tells Kat that he's made them an appointment at the clinic. The pair dress smartly for the visit, making people curious, but they decide to keep their plans under wraps and don't tell anybody where they're going. At the appointment, an emotional Kat tells the doctor, Will, about baby Tommy. Will asks Kat whether she feels it's too soon to start trying for another baby and she says that it isn't. However, Alfie is suspicious and wonders whether she was secretly trying to derail the process by bringing up Tommy.

Kat laments the fact that her life has become so complicated, and when she and Alfie return to The Vic, Kat explains that she isn't against the idea of IVF but feels it's not the right time. This prompts Alfie to tell Kat that their relationship will never be like the old days, no matter what they do. He then declares that the relationship isn't working and they both know it's over…

Meanwhile, Michael tries to promote the grand opening of the boxing club by parading girls around the Square. Later, a delivery van is parked outside The Arches, which angers Phil. Having agreed to help Ronnie to get rid of Michael, Phil starts getting confrontational with him - ordering him to move the van or he'll be forced to do something about it. However, when Michael tries to call the delivery driver he can't get through, so he starts removing crates to put inside the gym regardless. Suddenly, however, the doors of the van swing shut and someone starts driving it away with Michael inside. Later, when the van stops, Michael tries calling for help but there's no reply. There's also no signal on his phone for him to call for help. Will he miss the grand opening of the club?

Elsewhere, Jack tells Dot that the boxing club is named 'Basher Jim's'; Tanya and Kim help Jane to get dressed up to the nines for a night out, all part of a plan to make Ian jealous; Roxy takes on the role of round girl at the boxing club's first match, carrying the card around the ring to much applause; and Edward tries to cheer Dot up by arriving at the launderette with some recordings of classical music.
