Shirley is left devastated in EastEnders next month when she discovers the truth about Phil and Glenda's affair.

As fans already know, Glenda is to go public with the news of Phil's infidelity in the Queen Vic this Thursday - leaving Shirley wondering whether she can believe the schemer's allegations.

However, in the aftermath of Glenda's bombshell, Shirley is soon left in no doubt that Phil has been unfaithful. Paying a visit to the R&R, she overhears Phil and Glenda arguing in the office and, while eavesdropping on the row, she listens in horror as Phil speaks openly about his betrayal.

When Shirley walks in on the pair, Phil is shocked to have been caught out at last. He tries to protest that it's not what Shirley suspects, but she's heard enough of his lies and won't listen.

Later, when Glenda causes more trouble on the Square, a furious Shirley has had enough and drags her into the chip shop. Will Glenda live to regret crossing Shirley?

Glenda's questions terrify Ronnie

As Ronnie tries to look after James, Glenda makes a remark about how all babies look the same. The comment leaves Ronnie stunned and deeply concerned that Glenda could know her guilty secret. When Ronnie asks her mother what she means, Glenda explains that she can only tell her and Roxy apart in their baby pictures thanks to their different hairstyles. Glenda then has a question of her own, asking why Ronnie said Tommy was still here when they were at the church last week. As Ronnie avoids the question, Glenda warns her that lies have a habit of coming out - leaving Ronnie even more worried that her mum knows the terrible truth.

At the same time, Shirley is having breakfast with Phil but still has suspicions about him and Glenda. When Phil presents her with an impressive-looking engagement ring, Shirley tries it on - however, when she's alone with Heather later, she claims that the gesture hints at a guilty conscience. Over at The Arches, Ben tells Phil that he knows about his affair with Glenda. However, Phil assures his son that it's all over and that he shouldn't tell Shirley the truth as it would leave her heartbroken.

Later, Ronnie pays a visit to Phil at The Arches and says that they need to drive Glenda out of Albert Square. However, Phil is unsure of how best to go about it. As the day continues, Glenda pays a visit to the office at the R&R and finds Ronnie sitting at the desk. As Glenda walks in, Phil closes the door behind her and she demands to know what's going on. Ronnie then leaves Glenda alone with Phil, leaving her stunned. Shirley, meanwhile, has spotted Glenda leaving her flat and followed her to the club. Just as she's about to enter the office, she overhears Glenda and Phil arguing, with Phil admitting that he was just using Glenda. Shirley then enters the room and it's clear that Phil has been busted.

Meanwhile, over at the café, Jane considers what to put on the menu for lunch at The Vic - but Ian criticises her choices. Later, Ian annoys Jane further by selling some food that she'd prepared for the pub. As the couple argue, Jane claims that Ian takes her for granted. Tanya backs Jane up but says that he took her for granted even before they were married. Later, at the pub, Ian approaches Jane with a mystery item covered by a cloth. When she takes off the cover, Jane sees that it's a cake containing the words, 'Will you marry me - again?' A thrilled Jane quickly accepts the unexpected proposal.

Phil tries to come up with an explanation for Shirley, but she cuts him off and orders Glenda to leave. When they're left alone, Shirley slaps Phil but he protests that the situation isn't what she thinks. However, it seems that Shirley may have heard enough. Later, Ben and Jay enter the R&R and Phil threatens Ben, convinced that he told Shirley about the affair.

Meanwhile, as Glenda returns to the flat, she's furious and confronts Ronnie over the way she stabbed her in the back. As the pair argue, Roxy enters and pulls no punches with her mother - declaring that she's glad Glenda is leaving because she has never been a good mother. Glenda tries to defend herself but it looks like it's too late. Later, as Ronnie shares some time alone with Jack, she confesses that she hasn't been attending her counselling sessions. When Jack asks whether this is all she has been hiding, Ronnie assures him this is the case.

A desperate Glenda soon heads over to the Beale household and promises to leave Albert Square forever if he agrees to give her £5,000. She says that if Ian doesn't comply, she will tell Jane about their affair. Later, Ian meets Glenda in the Square and informs her that he could only get hold of £400. The news doesn't impress Glenda, who repeats her threat to tell Jane the truth. However, vowing he won't be blackmailed, Ian heads home and tells Jane that he has something to tell her. Is he about to come clean at last?

Later, as Glenda is about to depart Walford for good, Shirley comes out of the shadows and grabs her…

Kat and Alfie organise a birthday party for Shenice. Morgan, Liam and Tiffany are among those who attend, but Tiffany and Shenice take an initial dislike to each other. Fortunately, however, they soon get over it and become friends. Later, Alfie pops out to get some spring rolls and when he returns, he hears the news that Martina is back with her boyfriend and that she has taken Shenice away. Kat tries to act as if she doesn't care about the development, but is she telling the truth?

Meanwhile, Abi spots Jay outside Phil's house and arranges a date with him before dressing to impress. Later, as the pair meet up in the Square, Jay is extremely impressed by Abi's new look. Soon afterwards, however, the pair attract the attention of Max and he walks over to comment on Abi's make-up. Abi is left mortified by his interference and runs off.

Later, Max arrives home with Tanya to find Abi on the sofa. When Tanya asks Abi why she isn't at school, she claims to be ill - but Max struggles to believe her and reminds her of how important her education is. As the day continues, Max pretends to be sympathetic to Abi and she giggles at him, prompting Max to declare that he has caught her out as she doesn't seem ill at all.

Elsewhere, Shirley accidentally humiliates Julie in The Vic.

Alfie quizzes Kat about Shenice's departure, asking whether she seemed happy when she was leaving. However, Kat tells him that he shouldn't be getting so sentimental.

Later, Alfie notes that Shenice didn't get the chance to make a birthday wish and suggests that they should make one on her behalf. Kat isn't convinced by the idea but comes round to it following pressure from Alfie.

Kat soon receives a text from Shenice, thanking her and Alfie for the party and confirming that she misses them. Kat then shows her true feelings as it hits home that Shenice is gone, prompting Alfie to comfort her.

Elsewhere, everyone is waiting for Shirley's decision, and Jane makes a decision about her marriage.
