EastEnders star Rita Simons has admitted that she wants her character Roxy Mitchell to be successful in her forthcoming revenge storyline.

Roxy recently discovered that her cousin Phil (Steve McFadden) was the guilty party who stole her money on the day of Ronnie's chaotic wedding to Jack.

Forthcoming scenes on the BBC soap will see Roxy try to get even with Phil by plotting to get the cash back from the Albert Square hardman.

In an interview with Soaplife, Simons explained: "[The plan is] to steal back the money he stole from her. Glenda's in on it with Roxy and they plan to rob the club for what's rightfully Roxy's."

Asked whether the pair succeed, the actress replied: "Roxy deserves to! It is her money. She's furious a member of her own family would steal from her, especially as she's not rolling in it anymore."

Roxy and Glenda launch their scheme against Phil early next month.

Roxy and Glenda team up to get even with Phil on EastEnders early next month, but the Albert Square hardman manages to stay one step ahead of them.

After recently telling Roxy that Phil was the guilty party who stole her cash, Glenda is determined that they should do something about it. At first, the pair plan to steal from the R&R by selling Phil's secret champagne stash and pocketing the profits - but that plan goes out of the window when he catches them moving the boxes and gets suspicious.

As they move on to plan B, Glenda ropes Roxy into a plot to steal money from Phil's safe. After they enter his house using Glenda's spare key, they start to help themselves to the loot - but they're soon left stunned when Phil arrives back unexpectedly and catches them red-handed.

Phil soon threatens the scheming duo but Roxy defends herself by revealing that she knows about his betrayal. Phil then does some quick thinking and lies that Glenda was the real thief - rousing Roxy's suspicions. Who will she believe?

A Walford source commented: "Glenda is furious at Phil and determined to get him back. She sees this as the perfect chance for revenge, as well as getting Roxy's money at the same time. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned but she underestimates Phil, with disastrous consequences."

28th Feb

It's the day of Lucas's hearing and Denise tries to put on a brave face by going to work as planned. As she leaves for the day ahead, she is confronted by a group of photographers and reporters - but Yusef proves to be a big help when he uses a fire extinguisher to help disperse them. Later, Yusef supports Denise as she attends the hearing before Denise arrives at the B&B to announce that Lucas was sentenced to life in prison.

At the same time, Zainab is not looking forward to her latest meeting with Afia, and Tamwar worries about how Zainab is going to treat his girlfriend. Later, as Yusef, Afia, Masood, Zainab and Tamwar gather together, it's another awkward moment for all involved. Zainab promises to get Afia's engagement ring today, but it's still unclear how the Masoods will pay for it. However, Ian soon offers Masood a job so he can earn some extra cash.

Later, when Zainab is left alone with Yusef at the B&B, she tries to be civil by commenting on how Afia is a credit to him. However, she becomes upset and flees the building when Yusef starts to talk about when they were married. Arriving home, where Masood is holding the engagement ring he has bought, Zainab announces that they have to stop the wedding because she can't cope with having Yusef in her life any longer…

Meanwhile, Glenda offers to accompany Ronnie to her counselling session, but Ronnie insists that she wants to go alone. When Ronnie leaves but forgets her purse, Glenda chases after her but is surprised to see her walk straight past the tube station. As Ronnie sits in the park, Glenda heads over to confront her about missing her appointment. However, Ronnie lies that she plans to attend the next day.

Elsewhere, Kat's old friend Martina from Spain and her daughter Shenice arrive at The Vic, and Kat is livid as Martina was previously responsible for shopping her to the police. Later, Kat tells Martina about Tommy's death and Martina asks Alfie to babysit Shenice while she takes Kat out. Martina then tells Kat that she has lost the bar, doesn't have a penny and needs a place to stay

Masood sees Yusef leave the B&B and confronts him about the way he behaved with Zainab the night before. However, Yusef protests his innocence over the matter. Later, Zainab tells Masood that she fears Yusef's presence is tearing them apart. Determined to do something about the situation, Zainab comes up with a plan to split up Tamwar and Afia. However, she leaves Masood in charge of the plot and he decides he can't go through with it. Soon afterwards, Denise tells Zainab that she has filed for divorce from Lucas and is throwing a party to celebrate her new life as a single woman.

Once the party gets under way, Masood takes the opportunity to give Tamwar the engagement ring to give to Afia in front of an audience. However, when Afia shows Yusef the ring, he gives her another ring that belonged to her mother. Masood explodes with rage, convinced that Yusef is trying to upstage his family. He then shouts that Yusef left Zainab for dead when his family tried to kill her. As an upset Zainab leaves, Masood wants to go too and asks Tamwar to join him - but a torn Tam decides to stay with Afia. Later, Zainab leaves Masood reeling by saying that Yusef's uncle and father attacked her but she is unsure whether Yusef had anything to do with it.

Meanwhile, Glenda tells Roxy that she has a plan to get her money back from Phil. Later, Ronnie informs Glenda that she's not attending her counselling appointment today because James has a cold. As the day continues, Ronnie heads to church and lights a candle - while a curious Glenda watches on. Glenda confronts Ronnie about what she's doing and Ronnie almost cracks, however she stops herself from revealing her guilty secret just in time.

Elsewhere, Jay is left in charge of the garage because Ricky has to take the day off work due to Morgan being unwell. Later, Jay offers Abi some money for a bag of chips when she doesn't have enough to pay. The pair then spend some time enjoying each other's company.

3rd March

Phil arrives back on the Square following his visit to see Grant, but he's unimpressed about Heather living in his house. At the same time, Glenda starts plotting against Phil, telling Roxy that they should sell his secret stash of champagne from the R&R and pocket the cash. However, when Phil catches them moving the boxes, it's on to plan B. Glenda and Roxy decide to break into Phil's house to steal money from his safe - using a spare set of keys that Glenda has. However, as they start to take the cash, Phil walks in and catches them red-handed. Phil wastes little time before threatening the pair, but Roxy explains that she knows he stole her money. Phil protests his innocence, however, claiming that Glenda is the true thief.

Roxy then searches Glenda's bedroom and discovers that she has a wad of cash hidden in her wardrobe. Glenda says that she doesn't know how the money got there, but Roxy doesn't believe her and heads over to apologise to Phil. Phil soon meets Masood outside The Vic, thanking him as he has helped to set Glenda up. He gives Masood an envelope of cash as a reward for his assistance. Later, in The Vic, Glenda continues to protest her innocence over the money. Getting desperate, she announces in front of everyone that she has been sleeping with Phil behind Shirley's back. What will Shirley say?

Meanwhile, Afia still wants to reunite her and Tamwar's warring families, so the couple arrange another meeting for them to discuss their upcoming engagement party. Yusef agrees to the meeting, but a furious Masood refuses to have any part in it. However, Zainab decides to meet Yusef regardless of her true feelings.

Elsewhere, Kat returns home from a night out with Martina. Not long afterwards, there's a crash in Kat's bedroom and Kat rushes to see what it is. She then finds Shenice standing wearing her clothes and make-up!

4th March

Glenda approaches her flat but is shocked when Roxy suddenly throws a suitcase out of the door and orders her to leave. Glenda tries to defend herself but Roxy isn't interested and slams the door, leaving Glenda sitting alone on the Square. When Roxy sees Ronnie later, the two sisters express their belief that Glenda has been trying to set them against each other. Both agree that Glenda has had her last chance and that they should have nothing more to do with her. Later in the day, Glenda threatens Ronnie - vowing that she will tell Jack about her missed counselling sessions unless she lets her stay. A reluctant Ronnie is then forced to let Glenda into her home.

Meanwhile, Phil instructs Ian to get Glenda to leave the Square and gives him some cash to help make this happen. Ben witnesses the transaction but is unsure of what's going on. Ian is just as keen as Phil to see the back of Glenda as he's worried that she could reveal the truth about their affair. After browsing some travel sites and making a booking, Ian gives Glenda a ticket to Paris and she laughs at him - spotting his motivation a mile off. Unsure of what Glenda will do next, Ian nervously heads off - well aware that Glenda could still expose his guilty secret.

Elsewhere, Ben is becoming more and more suspicious about what's going on with his dad. Cracking under the pressure of his questioning, Heather tells him what Glenda said in the pub earlier about her affair with Phil. Ben is horrified and heads over to Ian's house to see if it's true. At first, Ian covers for Phil by insisting that Glenda is lying - but he eventually tells the truth, leaving the youngster devastated.

Over at the Masood household, the meeting to discuss Tamwar and Afia's forthcoming engagement party takes place as planned. As Masood is late to arrive, the proceedings begin without him and Afia explains that she wants a big wedding. Yusef agrees with this as he believes it's what Afia's mother would have wanted. When Masood turns up, he brings a bunch of flowers for Zainab with him. Tension between Masood and Yusef soon springs up again, but during a private moment, Zainab tells her husband that they need to put the past behind them. As a result, Masood graciously shakes Yusef's hand. Later, however, the warring fathers have a tense moment alone and it becomes clear that Masood just can't let this go.
