The final episode of the first series sees an army of Daleks attack the earth.

The programme also reveals the identity of Bad Wolf, the unseen nemesis that has been following the Doctor and Rose throughout the series.

Viewers will see the Doctor kiss his assistant for the first time - though not for romantic reasons.

They will also watch him regenerate into David Tennant, whose first words as the Time Lord will be: "Hello. New teeth. Now where were we?"

The episode, which culminates in a battle with an army of thousands of Daleks, also features the first kiss between the Doctor and his assistant.

In a scene in which the life of Rose Tyler, played by Billie Piper, is threatened, the Doctor saves her by engaging her in an apparently passionate embrace.

He then sucks the energy out of her, with a blinding flash of yellow disappearing from Tyler's body into his, and she is saved.

Me too! I have really only just accepted him whole heartedly in the part, and now he is going! Shame! I cannot see David Tennant in the part yet, I keep imagining the trailer for Cassannova!

Me too! I've never seen any other episodes of Doctor Who and it's not really my sort of thing. I thought I'd hate it but I've loved every minute!

Nope, I've never seen a star trek or star wars film at all...ever...seriously!
I watched Doctor Who because there was so much hype surrounding it and it just become sort of a saturday night ritual with my dad. Turns out I absolutely love it!

I didn't watch any of the old ones either until I saw this series and now I try to catch them when they're on UKTV Gold but it's not absolutely essential because they look quite tame compared to this series.
I am not a Sci-Fi fan and absolutely hate Star Trek and Star Wars and stuff like that but I love Doctor Who.

How can anyone hate Star Wars & Star Trek!

I remember watching it when I was young, and stopped when that McKoy bloke took over as the doctor. Chris Eccleston has really injected life into the character again, and brings a bit of comedy into it aswell - I'm going to miss him loads. Haven't seen David Tennant in anything, so not sure about him.......yet.....

Does anyone know/worked out who/what is Bad Wolf??? Apparently there have been loads of cryptic clues etc, but Russell T Davies doesn't believe it has been figured out?? Any ideas??

It'll be strange to have to get used to watch another doctor who in such a short space of time, but put it this way I wouldn't mind being stuck in a tardis with the loverly David.

I did wonder if David would be in it because it said in the Inside Soap TV guide: "The Parting Of The Ways": The Doctor's friendship with Rose is put to the ultimate test as the Earth is plunged into all-out war - and the Time Lord is forced to take desperate measures to save humanity from annihilation. Conclusion of the two-part series finale, starring Christopher Ecclestone and Billie Piper, and introducing David Tennant as the Doctor's new incarnation. Exciting stuff. Can't wait till the start of the 2nd series. A 3rd is even in the pipeline, I wonder if it'll be another new doctor then. I hope David stays a while longer.

24 minutes to go till the final episode folks!

wow that epi was sooooooooo good! i was sitting there in suspense the whole time. the daleks were a bit scarier this week but they still werent that scary. it was freaky when roses eyes were the gold colour and glowing, and i laughed when mickey was trying to get to the core of the tardis by pulling a chain attached to the car! actually i laugh at mickey quite often when hes on there, hes quite funny! and i guessed that the digger lorry thing would have roses mum in it. and i loved the way that the ann droid blasted some of the daleks, that was good. and the connection with bad wolf, am i right in thinking that the bad wolf was the core of the tardis? the dalek god made me laugh too, the way all the other daleks were like under its spell or something. im going stop rambling now lol but just gonna say it was absolutely superb, so glad i started watching dr who! :)

That episode was fantastic! It's a shame Christopher Eccleston has left but i'm looking forward to seeing what David Tennant will bring to the show. I developed an infactuation with Christopher Eccleston after watching him play the Doctor but now i've seen David tennant i've moved on to him! :rotfl:

best line: Rose - "My head hurts"
Doctor "Come here....I think you need a Doctor"

Well it's one of the most corny lines i've ever heard, but I was to into the program to care. My dad was sat there cringing and I was jumping up an down on the sofa shouting oh my god they are going to kiss finally! What can I say, I'm a hopeless jack/rose shipper!

I had a conversation with my mum that went something like this when the regenration took place,

me - "oh my god I can't believe David Tennants going to appear.........look at him how fit is he!?"
mum - "Thats him..."
me - "Yes thats David Tennant......look at him, so young with his cute little baby face! *squeels*
mum - "........he looks like a leprachaun"
me "Oi!" *Throws shoe*

I can't wait for the Xmas special!

That episode was brilliant, though I (like many others) am really going to miss Christopher Eccleston. Though it was quite funny when David Tennant appeared and said "Mmmm new teeth, where was I, oh yes Barcelona"!! And the look on Rose's face. I sort of guessed that it would be Rose who was the Bad Wolf, cause I was looking at the Dr Who website and it gave you some clues on it. Poor Jack though, fancy leaving him on the satelitte. But this could mean that he could be back at some point in the next series or the Christmas special, which I can't wait for. The only other strange one, was when the Doctor regenerated, cause he wasn't lying on the floor below the white building (or was it a windmill, can't remember) Ahh the good old days!!! Not sure about David Tennant, but haven't seen him in anything else, so at least he has a clean slate. Hopefully should keep some of the comedy element in it though, so will give him a chance. And he is quite nice to look at too!!!

I had no idea that Rose was BadWolf, I'm glad I did not read any spoilers because I enjoyed the episode so much more.

I think the good thing was that Bad Wolf was a nice thing. Came to save the Doctor and everything. It was clever how they made us think that it was an enemy or something bad!
