View Full Version : Pirates Of The Caribbean 5
Screenwriter Terry Rossio has signed up to write the fifth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, reports Deadline.
Disney has completed a deal with Rossio, who co-wrote the first four films in the adventure series, to return for the next instalment. It will be the first Pirates movie he pens without writing partner Ted Elliott.
The studio is also trying to tie up a deal with On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall for the sequel, while Johnny Depp is likely to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about portraying Sparrow for a fifth time, Depp said: "As long as we can put all the puzzle pieces together, I would most definitely consider it."
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will open in cinemas this May.

Holby City's Luke Roberts is quitting his role as surgeon Joseph Byrne to sail the high seas in Pirates Of The Caribbean 4.
The soap hunk - who joined the BBC medical drama in 2005 - has landed a role alongside Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and Geoffrey Rush in Hollywood blockbuster sequel Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, The Sun reports.

Luke recently revealed he'd love to have more action scenes.
Speaking about a Holby storyline in which his character had to perform surgery during a flash flood, he said: "It's fun for me, because my character's pretty starchy. I mean, I love Joseph dearly, but he's quite suit-wearing and nothing's out of place."
It isn't known what kind of character Luke will play in Pirates 4, but the film is shooting on location in Hawaii for 10 weeks, as well as in Los Angeles and the UK.
The film sees Depp's character Captain Sparrow set out on the hunt for the legendary fountain of youth.
Johnny Depp wants to "hold off" on a planned Pirates Of The Caribbean 5.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has already said he is in to make another Pirates movie, and screenwriter Terry Rossio has handed in his script for the fifth film, but with expectations building around the fourth instalment, due out on May 18, the Hollywood superstar doesn't want to rush into the next follow-up.
"It's not something where I would say, 'Let's shoot it next month to get it out by Christmas 2012'. We should hold off for a bit," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
"They should be special, just like they are special to me," he added.
While he hasn't seen Terry's new script, Johnny isn't opposed to reprising his iconic Jack Sparrow character in the future.
"It boils down to story, script and filmmaker," he said.
Joining Johnny in the fourth film, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, are Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush and Ian McShane.

JOHNNY Depp is to star in a FIFTH Pirates of the Caribbean film - after it emerged he has made £200million from the movies.
The star, 48, is said to have negotiated a deal that guarantees he shares in the profits of the hugely successful franchise.
The amount he has already earned for his role as swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow puts him way ahead of other stars on similar deals.
The fourth film in the Disney-made series, On Stranger Tides, is the most successful film of the year so far and has taken over £600million at the box office.
