The 3000th Hollyoaks Episode

Tony holds the opening of his new spa, Look Sharpe but it was never going to be an easy ride for the village entrepreneur. When Suzanne Ashworth's waters break and she's forced to give birth in the spa, there's a guaranteed mixture of comedy and drama.

Meanwhile Mitzeee steals Guy Candy's thunder with a rather raunchy and revealing publicity stunt. Elsewhere, Mercedes and Carl find themselves alone and as the temperature rises the temtation is just too much. Also, will Tom regret trying to be a hero when he knocks an intruder unconscious?

there's another soap returnee on the way within the next couple of weeks as Gaz makes his comeback on Hollyoaks.

The bad boy's reappearance in the village is bad news for Anita following their turbulent history, and it appears that nothing has changed between the pair when Gaz angrily threatens his enemy.

Will Gaz's return cause Anita to question her future in Hollyoaks?

Hollyoaks star Rachel Shenton has revealed that she was "really thrilled" to take a central role in the soap's forthcoming 3,000th episode.

The actress's fame-hungry character Mitzeee Minniver is among those with a big role to play in the Channel 4 show's milestone edition this week as she launches a fresh attempt to steal the spotlight in the village.

Speaking to DS about the 3,000th episode, Shenton explained: "I was really thrilled that Mitzeee could be involved - and also thrilled that she's involved in the way that she is, which is just typical Mitzeee style!

"The 3,000th episode is a great milestone for Hollyoaks, so it was just really nice and a big honour to play a part in it."

Discussing Mitzeee's involvement in the landmark edition, Shenton continued: "She turns up at a big gig for Guy Candy - the band that Lee has put together - and her plan is to upstage them.

"She desperately wants to steal their thunder because she's heard that the event is going to be quite high-profile, which is right up her street! And the way to upstage them - of course - is to arrive on horseback Lady Godiva-style! So that's what she does!"

The star also confirmed that the show's team wanted the episode to "go with a bang" and be "extra special" for viewers.

Hollyoaks' 3,000th edition airs this Friday on Channel 4. The episode also sees Mercedes and Carl give into temptation again and Suzanne Ashworth give birth to Darren Osborne's twin children.

Hollyoaks star Paul Opacic has confirmed that his character Carl Costello is about to have a big crisis of conscience.

Carl has already allowed himself to be tempted by his son Riley's girlfriend Mercedes Fisher (Jennifer Metcalfe), and fans will see the pair get passionate once again in the soap's 3,000th episode tomorrow evening.

However, in an episode due to air next week, Carl's wife Heidi (Kim Tiddy) has a nasty accident in the kitchen - causing him to rethink his recent behaviour.

Opacic told Inside Soap: "Carl's getting jiggy with Mercedes when Heidi burns her chest badly. She's been cooking a meal to welcome Mercedes into the family as Riley's partner. Heidi has to go to hospital and Carl feels incredibly guilty.

"The situation brings it home to them that what they're doing is wrong. Carl and Mercedes feel really guilty about what's happened. But we'll have to wait and see whether they can stay away from each other."

Opacic added that Carl will remain dead-set on opposing Riley and Mercedes's relationship - especially after he hears they are engaged.

He said: "It's everything Carl's been trying to stop. Riley wants to demonstrate to Mercedes that she's the girl of his dreams. But Carl is determined to prove to his son that Mercedes isn't good enough for him."
