Craig Gazey has announced that he is leaving Coronation Street.
The actor, who has played Graeme Proctor since April 2008, will bow out from the ITV soap in May but will appear on-screen until July, the serial's official website confirmed. It had recently been claimed that the actor had signed a new deal to remain with the show.
"When I first joined the cast I had no idea just how much I would enjoy being part of such an amazing team," Gazey said. "But I became an actor for the diversity of work and the opportunity to play different roles, I also really miss working in theatre. I feel this is the right time for me to leave after two and a half fantastic years playing a unique and brilliantly written character.
He continued: "I don't know what the future holds but I hope I will be given the opportunity to show my versatility as an actor and work on different projects."
Producer Phil Collinson commended the actor, adding: "Craig very quickly created a brilliant and memorable character and we are very sad to see him go. But we wish him well and all hope this isn’t the last we see of Graeme."
Introduced as a friend of David Platt's from a young offender's institution, Graeme - currently dating Tina McIntyre - went on to develop a close relationship with Ashley Peacock during his time working in the butchers.
Gazey was named 'Best Newcomer' at the 2010 National Television Awards.

if he is going then it is a shame because he's an amazing character. but if he is i can see why he wants to go, he had a developing theatre career before he came into Corrie and doesn't want to be typecast as a fool like Graham (I don't think Graham is a fool really, but that's the tabloid perception of him) for the rest of his acting career.

So much for him and Tina being the new Jack and Vera

I think he is being a silly lad leaving so soon. He should stay on a couple of years get some money behind him then go back to theatre if he wants. A lot of soap actors don't get many good roles once they leave a soap. As much as I like Graeme and Craig does play him well I don't think he will get many roles once he quits the street.

Will it have to do with the Chinese girl moving into the flat with Tina and him ?
With the departure of her on-screen boyfriend imminent, it's a sad time for Corrie's Michelle Keegan
But the actress, who plays straight-talking barmaid Tina McIntyre, thinks it's time for her character to embrace the single life.
Speaking from the red carpet at the National Television Awards, she said: "I think Tina needs to be on her own for a while - she just goes from one boyfriend to the next, doesn't she?
"She needs a break from boys, and to work at the pub with Steve and Becky for a bit."
But Michelle admits it's going to be tough for her saying goodbye to Craig Gazey, who announced earlier this month that his last scenes as Graeme Proctor will be filmed in May.
"I thought they were a really good match, so it's really upsetting, I'm going to miss him," she said.
"But I think when someone wants to leave, obviously they've thought long and hard about it and obviously feel like they've made the right decision, so you just don't get involved."
But with handsome ladies' man Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain) soon to hit the Street, perhaps Tina won't be single for long...

I think Graeme will leave to stay with Claire
Coronation Street will reportedly feature two sham marriages as part of an upcoming plot.
Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey) will wed girlfriend Tina McIntyre's (Michelle Keegan) Chinese friend Xin so that she can stay in the country when her student visa runs out - risking going back to jail in the process.
The fake couple will bribe David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and Kylie Turner (Paula Lane) into letting them share their wedding day, but Kylie is only marrying David in the hope of getting Audrey's hair salon, according to the News of the World.
Graeme and Tina stage a break-up and Xin (Elizabeth Tan) moves into their flat. However, despite being Tina's idea, the lies push the couple apart and Graeme leaves Weatherfield later this year.
He tells Tina: "I can't believe what we've got ourselves into. I could get seven years in jail for doing this." She tells him: "When the dust settles we'll find a way out."
A source said: "Things get messy. Corrie fans love Graeme and Tina together. But the lies eventually split them up. And whether or not he is found out and sent to jail, Graeme will leave Corrie very soon."
Gazey announced his exit from the show earlier this month.

Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has admitted that he is not yet certain of how his character Graeme Proctor will depart the soap.
The actor announced his decision to leave the role of Graeme at the beginning of the year and his final scenes will air in May.
Reports have speculated that Graeme's exit could tie in with his forthcoming plan to stage a sham wedding with newcomer Xin (Elizabeth Tan), allowing her to stay in the country once her student visa has expired.
Speaking to Inside Soap about Graeme's plan to help Xin - which is hatched in collaboration with his girlfriend Tina - Gazey explained: "They're going to have to be very careful over the next few weeks - but I can't really say whether this is what leads up to my going.
"I love my character and have had the most amazing journey with Graeme, so I feel sad to be leaving him behind - but I'm excited about the future.
"I think there are a couple of plots on the table to do with Graeme's leaving story. So I'm not 100% sure which way it's going to go for him yet."
Gazey has appeared on screen as Graeme since April 2008.
DS
Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has confirmed that Tina McIntyre's relationship with Graeme Proctor will come under strain over the next few weeks.
As revealed earlier this year, the actress's alter ego will soon hatch a plot for Graeme to marry her old friend Xin (Elizabeth Tan), allowing her to stay in the country once her student visa expires. Tina's plan involves staging a public break-up with Graeme, who subsequently starts 'dating' Xin.
However, speaking to All About Soap, Keegan admitted: "Tina soon finds it hard watching Graeme and Xin pretend to be a couple. She's jealous, which she hadn't expected. Tina loves Graeme and they're best mates so it's hard for them not to be together.
"She wonders whether they've done the right thing, but they're too far down the line now. Tina, Graeme and Xin have to keep the lie going - but they haven't thought things through properly."
Of Tina and Graeme, she added: "There's a lot of jealousy between them, which is never good for any couple. Tina thinks Xin and Graeme will marry and go their separate ways, but it may not work out that way - they could be heading for heartbreak."
Craig Gazey, who plays Graeme, will leave Coronation Street later this year.

Craig Gazey, who plays Coronation Street's Graeme Proctor, is running the London Marathon this year to raise funds for Leukeamia and Lymphoma Research. This is a charity that's always been close to the blog's heart ever since we started and we have always done our best to support the charity as best we can.
And now, you can make a difference too. Craig is asking fans to sponsor him to run the Marathon on Sunday 17th April.

Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan thinks that busybody Norris Cole may prove too much of a match for her alter-ego Tina McIntyre when he finds out about the sham wedding she has orchestrated.
Tina has got her boyfriend Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey) to marry Xin (Elizabeth Tan) to help her Chinese friend get a visa to stay in the country.
Speaking at the Royal Television Society Awards, where Coronation Street lost out to EastEnders in the battle for best soap, Michelle said busybody Norris (Malcolm Hebden) may prove too much of a match for Tina when he discovers the truth.
Michelle said: "She knows what Norris is like. He likes a bit of a gossip and he likes to stir trouble so she's got her eye on him at the moment..."
But she added: "I don't think she'll be able to handle Norris. She will just get too wound up by him."
Michelle said just how much she is going to miss Craig when he quits his role as her boyfriend Graeme this summer.
The TV beauty said: "I'm going to really miss him actually. I've been with him now for a year on-screen and you do become really close. You become best friends. It's going to be really difficult."

CORRIE star Craig Gazey says he wants to leave his character Graeme Proctor behind for good when he leaves this summer - dashing fans' hopes of a return.
The actor, 29, said: "If I did come back, Graeme would be going in a different direction, so in some ways I feel I want to leave him here."
He added to Inside Soap magazine: "I'm not being killed off, but returning isn't something I'm thinking about just yet."
Sad to hear. I always liked Graeme
Coronation Street actor Craig Gazey has said that he doesn't want his comedy character Graeme Proctor to change.
Gazey is leaving the soap after four years this summer, but has admitted that he cannot think of returning yet because it would result in a "different direction" for his character.
Gazey told Inside Soap:"I'm not being killed off, but returning isn't something I'm thinking about just yet, even though I'd love to at some point.
"If I did come back Graeme would be going in a different direction - so in some ways I feel I want to leave him here."
Gazey's co-star Michelle Keegan, who recently left the soap, said that she was "really going to miss Graeme when he leaves". According to Gazey, he has had many people contacting him with similar sentiments.
"I still get people finding out on Twitter that I'm leaving and they can't quite believe it," the 29-year-old said.
"Everyone has been really sweet and said they don't want me to go. Within half an hour of the announcement I was trending on Twitter!
"Lovely people like Phillip Schofield have said they hope Graeme comes back."
I think he has changed so much already from the comedy character we saw when he first joined since this ridiculous sham wedding storyline has been developed. He was fun as a single, he was fun with Tina, winding Norris up, they should have left them together and have somebody else go for the sham wedding, like David or even Traceyluv, they know what conning people is all about. Used to like him a lot but now don't care he is leaving :wall:

They should have left Graeme as the dopey fool that we know and love. This fake wedding has just ruined the character.
Craig Gazey has insisted that he has not ruled out a potential return to Coronation Street in the future.
The actor is set to exit the ITV1 soap after confirming that he had quit as Graeme Proctor following three years in the role.
Speaking about his current plot, which has seen Graeme plan to tie the knot with newcomer Xin in order to help her remain in the country, he told ITV's This Morning: "This is my leaving storyline... so we know that it probably doesn't end that well."
On departing the Weatherfield serial, he told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: "[It is true] that I wrote myself a little Post-it note that said don't stay longer than two years and I wrote that because I have lots of aspirations as an actor to show versatility and I kind of want to continue to do that and didn't want to lose sight of that.
"But [the decision] has been really difficult because of the brilliant character, lovely people to work with, and a response I couldn't have dreamt up myself - it's been amazing."
However, he dismissed tabloid claims that he would never go back to the show, saying: "There was a thing in the paper yesterday saying that I'd never come back and it's absolute rubbish - what I said was that I'm not thinking about that yet because I've not even left yet. But I'd love to come back - it'd be good to see him come back a bit different perhaps.
"I want to get back to the theatre - this is the longest time I've had not doing a play since I was 5 years old and I really miss it. So I want to go back and do that, and given the opportunity I'd like to do some drama, something completely different to Graeme."
Gazey's co-star Michelle Keegan, who plays his on-screen girlfriend Tina, has admitted that the actor will leave a "void" when he exits the soap.
DS
Michelle Keegan says she'd have no problem if her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego became a lesbian.
The stunning actress plays feisty Tina McIntyre in the ITV1 soap and while she is currently dating Graeme Proctor - who is set to marry Chinese immigrant Xin Chiang to help her stay in the country in a scheme organised by Tina - she wouldn't be adverse to the brunette bombshell getting into a relationship with another woman.
When asked if she handle it if her character came out as being gay, as Sophie Webster and Sian Powers did, Michelle replied: "If the storyline required it, then you just do it. Everyone is so close on set and all the cast get on really well, so it wouldn't be a problem. It would definitely be a different side to Tina!"
While she loves her character, Michelle isn't impressed with Tina's plan with Graeme and Xin as she knows it will have great implications for their relationship.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Tina thought she'd come up with a really good plan but it's sort of backfired. I don't think she realises how serious the situation is and it starts to affect her relationship with Graeme."
The 23-year-old beauty also revealed how much she will miss Craig Gazey, who plays Graeme, when she leaves the soap later this year.
She said: "Craig's leaving in about two months, which is really sad, but I think it will only hit me when he's filming his last scenes.
"I'm close to all of my on-screen boyfriends - Jack Shepherd, Ryan Thomas and Craig. We're all really good mates. When you work with a person day in and day out, you become close."

Craig Gazey has revealed that he thinks Pattie Clare's Coronation Street character Mary Taylor could fill the comic void left by his departure.
Gazey, who has played window cleaner Graeme Proctor in the Weatherfield-based soap for three years, is due to bow out amid a dramatic sham marriage storyline.
Speaking to Holy Soap, the 29-year-old actor revealed that he relished the opportunity to play more serious scenes in recent storylines, after years of bringing comic relief to the cobbles.
"I think before this storyline, ever since [Graeme] started looking after Tina before they went out, from there we started to see depth. So from then on it's been great," Gazey said.
In terms of who should fill his shoes as the humorous foil to some of the more dramatic characters, Gazey suggested that Clare's unhinged portrayal of Norris Cole's unrequited lover Mary would be welcomed in a more prominent fixture on the show.
"I think that they should give Pattie more to do as Mary, because I think she's absolutely wonderful and so I think they should venture out with her because I think she's brilliant," he suggested.
"But yeah other than that, I don't know. I'm sure some other comic characters will come."

Craig Gazey is tucking into a chicken sandwich. The actor’s schedule is tight, so he’s got to grab lunch while he can.
He sits in an office at Granada TV in Manchester, and while hurriedly eating, reflects on his decision to leave Coronation Street.
“I’m very nervous about it actually,” he says. “I’d decided quite a while ago that this was what I wanted to do – but now it’s got closer and closer, I realise I’m really going to miss the place.”
Risking indigestion, he shoves the sandwich into his mouth. He’s been filming for much of the morning and doesn’t have long until he’s needed back on set.
The production demands on the actor have certainly increased since the character he plays so brilliantly became such a central figure in the soap. His portrayal of Graeme Proctor has won him millions of fans and a British Soap Award.
It does mean, though, that sometimes he struggles to get a proper break.
“I’m very grateful for everything the show has done for me,” he says. “It’s made leaving very difficult. I love the place.”
Soon Craig will wave goodbye to Graeme when he films his final scenes in May, but he will be on screen until July.
After a comparatively short three-year spell, he feels that it is time to move on.
But this is Coronation Street, where actors can often stay for decades. Why is he leaving what could be a job for life?
“It’s not a reaction to anything in this place,” he says. “It’s more about my long-term needs.”
He checks himself, and laughs: “I sound like a marriage counsellor.
“Basically, I like ducking and diving and doing different things. When I got the role, I wrote in my diary not to stay on Corrie for longer than three years.
“I want to do other things and I want to do an eclectic mix of work, so this move is just part of the master plan.”
Part of that plan includes doing plenty of theatre work.
Like many actors, Craig, 29, believes he belongs on the stage, not in front of TV cameras.
“I love theatre – I’ve done it since I was five. This is the longest time I’ve had since that age where I haven’t done a play and I do miss it.”
He hopes to follow a similar path to the one tread by another former Rovers regular, Suranne Jones.
He says he admires the variety of work she’s done since leaving the Street.
“I’m not so cocky to think that everything comes instantly, but I know I will work my hardest to shape my career in the way I want to.”
Graeme talks loudly and deliberately and comes across as a thoughtful professional who intensely committed to his work.
He says that when he first joined Coronation Street, he would watch back his performances and make notes on how to improve.
This seriousness is in striking contrast to the dopey, wayward ways of his alter-ego.
He describes Graeme as a ‘gift of a part’. He’s a classic Corrie character – warm, funny, and vulnerable.
“He seems to have caught the imagination of all kinds of different people, from grannies to teenage girls. Everyone seems to like him,” he says.
Although Craig himself is a little less enamoured.
“It’s a bit like having a relationship,” he laughs. “We have our ups and downs.”
He does, though, hope to see Graeme happy.
How the character will leave is a closely guarded secret, but it’s been revealed that it won’t be feet first.
“I’m glad he’s not dying,” Craig says. That does, of course, leave the door open for the actor to make a comeback, something that he says he is open to.
For the moment, he’s focused on Graeme’s latest big story, a bogus marriage, which means Craig gets to film some dramatic scenes.
“I like Graeme having problems – before this, life was a bit too easy for him.
“I had loads of scenes where I was just sat in the pub staring at my girlfriend. I wanted them to mess about with his life, well, they’ve certainly done that.”
The fake marriage plan is causing problems between Graeme and his on-screen love Tina, played by Michelle Keegan.
The actress has said Craig’s departure will leave a void in Corrie. The pair have a close friendship off-screen, which Craig compares to a brother-sister relationship.
Viewers will have to wait to see what Graeme’s future will be, but Craig sees his future away from his Manchester roots. Originally from Royton, near Oldham, his master plan involves moving to London. “I’m a bit of a wanderer. I’m quite happy to set-up in different places.
“I’ve lived there before and I guess I’ll move there again eventually. I like London because of the different opportunities, not just for work but other things too. You can go to the theatre three times a week. You can’t do that up here.”
He’s been passionate about theatre since he made his stage debut in Cinderella at the age of five.
“I played Rambo, who was like a bodyguard to the Fairy Godmother. I’ve loved it from then – it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do.”
Craig is clearly itching to get back on stage – but for now he has filming Corrie to get back to, so he polishes off his sandwich and heads back to the set.
Coronation Street's Graeme Proctor will leave girlfriend Tina McIntyre devastated by falling in love with wife Xin for real, a report has claimed.
According to the Daily Star, the soap's sham marriage storyline will take a surprising new twist in the coming weeks when Graeme starts to develop strong feelings for Xin (Elizabeth Tan), begging her not to leave Weatherfield as planned.
Towards the end of this month, Xin apparently decides to move away so that Graeme and Tina can be together again. However, it is thought that Graeme tells Xin that he cannot bear to lose her - which leads to the couple sharing a passionate kiss and sleeping together.
Later, Tina (Michelle Keegan) is expected to walk in on the pair kissing, before Graeme tells her: "I'm sorry Tina, but Xin and I love each other and want to be together forever."
As Graeme makes the shock decision to leave Weatherfield with his wife, a vengeful Tina reportedly threatens to inform the authorities of how they only ever tied the knot to keep Xin in the country.
A show source told the newspaper: "When Tina learns what is going on, she will be left seething and out for revenge. If she tells the authorities the truth it will send Graeme back to prison, and he is left with no choice but to flee the street with Xin."
Details of the rumoured plot twist remain unconfirmed but fans are already aware that Craig Gazey, who plays Graeme, is leaving Coronation Street. His final scenes will air in June.
I thought this was going to end this way last week, could see it coming. This will leave it open for a return for Graeme. If he or Corrie decide to bring him back one day.
Craig Gazey has filmed his final scenes for Coronation Street.
The actor, who has portrayed hapless Graeme Proctor since 2008, is leaving the Weatherfield-based soap as part of the conclusion of a sham marriage plot involving girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) and her friend Xin Chiang (Elizabeth Tan).
Earlier today, the actor told his Twitter followers: "So... The day has come... My last day of filming on Les Cobbles! xxx (sic)"
After concluding his final scenes, Gazey added: "xxx BYE BYE WEATHERFIELD xxx"
The 29-year-old then retweeted a fan's tribute, which read: "Every1 get it trending! #GoodbyeGazey for @craigazey who finished filming as Graeme in Corrie today!!"
Gazey, who has admitted that he would love to return to Coronation Street in the future, has previously teased that Graeme will make a shock decision regarding Xin.

He cpuld return in a couple of years with a little Graeme or Xin.
Coronation Street's explosive week of episodes reached its dramatic conclusion tonight as the John Stape saga came to an end and the McDonalds' marriage lay in tatters.
Here, are recent spoilers, rumours and speculation and provides a one-stop guide to what's next for the characters who took centre stage this week.
Graeme, Tina and Xin
This storyline is heading rapidly towards a conclusion and reaches its climax next week as Graeme is finally forced to make a choice between the two women in his life.
As Tina finally realises that something is amiss when it comes to Graeme and Xin, her boyfriend decides that he can't lie to her for any longer.
When Graeme admits the depth of his feelings for Xin, the feisty Tina of old returns as she rages over the pair's betrayal and shocks them with the full force of her anger.
Meanwhile, a recent tabloid report suggested that Graeme will decide to leave Weatherfield with Xin, but whether this will actually happen remains unconfirmed - especially with talk of a possible revenge plot on the cards.
After hearing the truth, Tina will apparently threaten to report Graeme and Xin to the authorities over their marriage scam. Will she go through with her threats? And will Graeme leave Weatherfield peacefully or could his exit plot see him in serious trouble?
What we know for sure is that Craig Gazey has already filmed his last scenes as Graeme, and his final episodes will air on Monday, June 13.
CORRIE'S Craig Gazey thinks he's come up with the perfect plot to rejoin the Street - killing off his screen wife.
His character Graeme Proctor is set to leave Weatherfield with sham wife Xin next Monday after they fall in love for real.
Craig, 29, announced he was quitting the soap in January and claimed he would not return.
But now he says he has decided to keep his options open and has come up with his own plot to get Graeme back on the cobbles.
It would see Xin (Elizabeth Tan) killed off after having the eccentric butcher's baby.
Craig said: "If I could write Graeme's comeback story, I'd maybe want him to end up widowed and return to the cobbles on his rickshaw with a child in tow.
"I'd love to see him deal with being a single father."
The actor, who is moving to London to pursue a stage career, admitted he has taken a few trophies from the Corrie set to remind him of his three years there.
He told Inside Soap, on sale tomorrow: "I've kept Graeme's caps and his butcher's hat - which I'll probably give to charity at some point. I don't think I'd wear his clothes, though."
Graeme and Xin - who wed to secure Xin a passport - are forced to flee Weatherfield because his heartbroken ex, barmaid Tina McIntyre, is planning to alert immigration officials.
Craig said he didn't want to see Tina (Michelle Keegan) to fall for anyone else on the show - especially new boy Tommy Duckworth, played by Chris Fountain.
He said: "Absolutely, categorically not. I reckon Tina should be a spinster for the rest of her life now.
"I get really jealous when I think about Tina getting together with someone else."

From the Radio Times preview of next Monday's episode:
"How to ruin a perfectly good Coronation Street character. First, take away the humour that made them so appealing in the first place. Second, involve them in a romantic entanglement with a newcomer that nobody cares about. And finally, alienate them from everybody else in the neighbourhood. Yes, it's the tiresome Graeme-Xin plot, which thankfully reaches its climax tonight."
How true.

Could apply equally to John Stape although his humour was more of the dark, gallows variety
Craig Gazey has defended his character's recent actions on Coronation Street.
The actor plays Graeme Proctor, who left girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) for Xin Chiang (Elizabeth Tan) following their sham marriage.
Gazey has now defended the plot on Twitter after receiving tweets from unhappy fans.
He said: "How funny that tweeple are abusing me for the actions of that FICTIONAL character that I play named Graeme! (sic).
"In my FICTIONAL character's defence,he was made to marry & live with the Women & starved of his girlfriend's company,What do you expect?"
He recently revealed that he would like his character to return to the soap as a widower.

Corrie made one big whopper of a mistake putring Graeme and Xin together.
Craig Gazey has said that some Coronation Street fans are now backing his character's blossoming relationship with new wife Xin.
Last week, Graeme Proctor decided to dump girlfriend Tina (Michelle Keegan) in favour of his new partner, despite the fact that marrying Xin (Elizabeth Tan) was originally just a scam to keep her in the country.
Graeme leaves Weatherfield in tonight's double bill of the soap as the dramatic fallout of his romantic choice continues.
Discussing the viewer reaction to the plot, Gazey told Loose Women today: "There's kind of a divided camp on it really, because some people quite like Xin and Graeme now - [although] it took a while to warm up. But a lot of people do like Tina and Graeme.
"I think the thing with Xin is that she's a little bit kooky, she's a bit more on Graeme's wavelength and she gets his silliness and his eccentricities."
Speaking about the fans who have expressed their displeasure over Graeme's betrayal, he said: "I've been getting loads of abuse and I'm like, 'Guys, it's not The Only Way Is Weatherfield'! Is it real, is it not? No, it's written."
Gazey announced his decision to leave Coronation Street at the beginning of the year.
Former Coronation Street star Craig Gazey has landed a role in a new play.
The actor, who quit his role as Graeme Proctor earlier this year, will feature in Third Floor.
Announcing the news on Twitter, he wrote: "So... tweeps... my first appearance since Corrie will be 'Third Floor' a play in London in October! (sic)"
He also left a message for the show's producer Sally Humphries which said: "Read the play again last night and i'm really looking forward to rehearsals!"
Third Floor starts at Trafalgar Studio 2 in October and also stars Inbetweeners actress Emily Head.
The play, which premieres in Toronto next month, is a new piece from Canadian-born playwright Jason Hall. A Facebook page for the show describes the drama as "a Hitchcockian twist on contemporary living that asks, 'How well do you know your neighbours?'"
Gazey recently said that he thought his exit storyline had divided fans of the ITV1 soap.
He also defended Graeme's decision to leave girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) for Xin Chiang (Elizabeth Tan) following their sham marriage.
Craig Gazey stars in West End play
His Coronation Street character Graeme Proctor ended up in Edinburgh, but actor Craig Gazey is soon to be starring in London's West End.
Craig will star in Jason Hall's thriller Third Floor at London's Trafalgar Studios 2. Directed by Russell Labey, performances begin October 11 with opening night following on October 13. The limited engagement concludes on November 5.
Described as a hilarious and unsettling look at urban living today, Third Floor follows the friendship between a young woman (Head) and her hasty but handsome neighbor (Gazey). Third Floor is produced by Sally Humphreys Productions and Jason Haigh-Ellery.
Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan has said that her character Tina McIntyre is still hurt by Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey) leaving her.
Speaking to Soaplife, the actress explained why her barmaid alter ego is struggling to confess her feelings for Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain).
"She's scared of getting involved with a man again. She's still hurt by what Graeme did to her and she's wary of it happening again," she said.
"Tina doesn't trust him 100% because of his laddish ways. She hasn't forgotten how he tried to get off with any woman when he first arrived on the Street.
"She's also worried about spoiling their friendship and losing him from her life."
After Rovers Return landlady Stella Price (Michelle Collins) persuades Tina of Tommy's integrity, she catches him kissing another woman during next Monday's double bill.
Keegan added: "For now Tommy's blown his chances. They might make a great couple and could have fun together, but Tina has to be careful she doesn't get hurt."
