I love it. Biffy Clyro is playing in Edinburgh on New Year's Eve. I don't know Biffy's version but Matt's is brilliant.

It was on the local scottish news tonight that Biffy Clyro fans were setting up a facebook campaign to get them to number 1 instead. I hope they don't. Biffy's version is great but I would love to see Matt at number 1 his version is just stunning.

X Factor champion Matt Cardle will play a free gig at HMV's Bayswater store tomorrow, it has been revealed.

The singer's first show since winning the ITV1 competition will include a rendition of his debut solo single 'When We Collide'.

Cardle will also sign copies of his record, which was given its official physical release earlier today.

The 5pm performance will be open to the public, but due to time restraints only a limited number of fans can meet him at the signing. 400 wristbands will be handed out at HMV Bayswater in Whiteleys Shopping Centre from 8am tomorrow on a first-come, first-served basis.

Matt Cardle will launch his official book with a signing at Waterstones in London on Monday, it has been announced.

The book, which is released on the same day, tells the X Factor winner's story up to his victory on the ITV show last weekend.

The first 500 fans to arrive at the Piccadilly store will receive a special wristband giving them access to the signing, which begins at 10am.

"We are incredibly excited about having the hottest star in the country hold his first ever book signing at our Piccadilly store," said events manager Jon Howells. "It's been an X Factor year for the store, as Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue have also held hugely popular signings there recently."

Cardle is on course to score this year's Christmas number one with his debut single 'When We Collide'.

Matt Cardle has secured a third week at the top of the UK singles chart with his debut track 'When We Collide'.

The X Factor champion's tune became the first chart-topper of 2011 - having already won the titles of last year's Christmas number one and the last number one of 2010 - after holding Rihanna and Drake's 'What's My Name' into second place for a third consecutive week.
