Yes it does sound far fetched that it would appear in a US soap opera

They will only be able to go with this storyline for a couple of months. Without stating the obvious but both Kat & Alfie are darked haired, were Ronnie is blond and Jack is darked haired. The chances of Kat & Alfie having a baby with fair hair are slim. Also if she is going to be seeing the baby with Ronnie all the time. Sooner or later she is going to notice that the baby either looks like Alfie or Zoe when she was a baby.

Yes I think Kat's baby is to turn out to be Alfie's really and not Michael's baby - I think this was in a soap magazine or cover of one
I guess Michael will return for the baby's funeral
Tamwar is in for an unpleasant surprise when his parents start interfering in his love life once again.
When Zainab and Masood hold interviews for a waitress job at the Argee Bhargee, Bushra's daughter Zulekha is among the many candidates who show up to try their luck.
However, as Tamwar greets Zulekha and pulls her aside, he's startled when she reports that Zainab and Masood seem to be interviewing for his future wife rather than just a waitress!
Tamwar then heads inside to confront his parents, who can't seem to understand why he's so annoyed when they're only trying to help…

I have a blond child and I'm half Indian half Dutch. So you can never tell. My girl was born with black hair and lost them 3 months later and became blond. Freakish I know but weird things happen.

Tiffany finally breaks her silence
Airs on Monday, January 10 2011 20:00 GMT on BBC One
It's early morning on the Square and Carol is surprised when she wakes up and discovers that she's still snuggled up with Connor on the sofa. She quickly orders him to leave, but for the rest of the morning it seems that he won't leave her alone as he turns up at the house again and also tries to call her several times. However, events take a twist when Connor bumps into Whitney, who's in a flirtatious mood. When Carol finally listens to her secret lover's voicemails, he's already busy with Whitney in the bedroom. Later, Connor is in the kitchen with Whitney and picks up a voicemail from Carol. After listening to her message, he goes to make a swift exit but gives Whitney a goodbye kiss.
Just as Connor and Whitney share their kiss, the door opens and Carol arrives back with the kids following a trip to the shops. Whitney comes up with a cover story for Connor being in the house, but Tiffany has caught them red-handed. Later, Whitney and Connor meet outside and Connor expresses concerns that Tiffany could tell someone about them. However, Whitney seems convinced that their secret is safe. Back in the house, Tiffany finally breaks her silence and tells Carol about how she saw her with Connor through the letterbox. However, Carol dismisses Tiffany's suggestions and accuses her of lying.
Meanwhile, Alfie meets Ronnie and when she anxiously asks if she can attend the funeral, Alfie agrees. However, when Alfie returns to The Vic, he's startled when Kat starts crossing names off his guest list for the gathering, making it clear that Charlie in particular should not be allowed to attend. Keen to keep his wife happy, Alfie sees Ronnie for a second time and admits that it might be better for her to stay away. Later, Alfie plucks up the courage to tell Kat that her behaviour towards both him and Charlie has been too harsh. Over at Ronnie's, meanwhile, it seems that Alfie's warning has not sunk in as Ronnie pulls a black dress out of her wardrobe. Will she attend the funeral after all?
Elsewhere, Glenda tells Phil that their relationship is over; a mix-up at the launderette leads Dot to think that she's been snubbed by Edward; Jack suggests to Max that he could sell his share in R&R in return for a share of Max's car business; and Phil tells Shirley that he's thinking of expanding his business, but she's annoyed that she wasn't consulted.
The day of the funeral arrives
Airs on Tuesday, January 11 2011 19:30 GMT on BBC One
It's the day of the funeral, and it's clear that Kat is struggling to cope as she hides away in bed and seems unable to face the sad event ahead. Before the ceremony, Alfie pays a visit to the baby's resting place and, once he returns, he tries to convince Kat to leave her bed. Meanwhile, over at Jack and Ronnie's, Jack wants his wife to come for a walk with the baby, but he's alarmed to discover that she has locked herself in the bedroom. After watching the funeral party gather on the Square, Ronnie starts putting on the black dress that she picked out yesterday. Soon afterwards, Kat leaves The Vic and is supported by her friends and family as her difficult day begins in earnest. Ronnie also leaves her own house and sets off on a journey alone.
Once Kat arrives at the church, she has another difficult moment and struggles to pluck up the courage to step inside, but she eventually does so following some more consolation from Alfie. After the funeral service is over, everyone heads over to the cemetery for the burial, where Ronnie watches from a distance. Kat completely breaks down at the graveside as the reality of the final goodbye hits home, while Ronnie also looks distraught as she watches the scene from afar.
Later, when Ronnie returns home to Kat's baby, it seems that she's had a revelation. She takes the child up in her arms and heads over to The Vic, despite some protestations from Jack, who demands to know what's going on. Ronnie enters the pub - but what will she do next?
Meanwhile, Carol tells Connor that they need to end their relationship immediately as Tiffany now knows about them. Tiffany remains in a bad mood, but Carol doesn't let Bianca know the reason why her daughter is behaving so strangely.
Charlie leaves Albert Square
Airs on Thursday, January 13 2011 19:30 GMT on BBC One
In the aftermath of the funeral, Kat continues to hide away from the world and shuts herself up in her room. Charlie heads up with a cup of tea for his daughter, but he provokes an angry response from her as she's still struggling to cope. Kat speaks candidly about how she still resents her mother for taking Zoe away all those years ago, and it's not long until she turns her anger to Charlie. When he starts pleading with her, Kat admits that she can't stand the sight of him, so he decides to leave her alone.
Returning home, Charlie packs a suitcase with the intention of leaving Walford, but his decision upsets Mo and she tries to convince him to stay. As Mo heads over to The Vic to tell Kat what's going on, Charlie leaves his keys behind at home and closes the door behind him. When Kat hears that her father is leaving the Square, she says that she's glad about the news, but Alfie soon convinces her to go after him. The pair eventually reconcile at the Tube station, but Charlie is adamant that it's best for him to leave and explains that he's going to stay with Lynne. He then steps onto the train for his journey.
Meanwhile, a number of young women arrive at the Argee Bhargee as interviews are taking place for the waitress job. Zuleka is among the candidates for the job, and when she chats to Tamwar, she lets slip that his parents seem to be interviewing for his future wife rather than simply looking for a waitress. Annoyed by the news, Tamwar confronts Zainab and Masood, but they can't see what the fuss is about as they're merely trying to help.
Elsewhere, Carol apologises to Tiffany for losing her temper, but reiterates that whatever she thinks she has discovered is just in her imagination.
Glenda has business talks with Phil
Airs on Friday, January 14 2011 20:00 GMT on BBC One
Jack is late home from the club, so Ronnie is left looking after 'James' alone in the middle of the night. As the baby is not settling, Ronnie makes a phone call to Glenda, who reluctantly agrees to come over and help. Shortly after Glenda's arrival, Jack finally returns home and reveals that he's agreed to sell his share in R&R and will be going into business with Max at the car lot. Meanwhile, Phil arrives home and tells Shirley that he has purchased the club from Jack.
In the morning, Glenda has breakfast with Roxy at the café and informs her about the sale of the club. Soon afterwards, Phil calls Roxy's phone but she's reluctant to speak to him, so Glenda picks it up instead. It turns out that Phil wants to meet Roxy at the club, but she persuades Glenda to go in her place. At the meeting with Phil and Shirley, Glenda arrives in a business-like mood, while Phil is feeling flirtatious and suggests that Glenda should be front-of-house manager. However, Shirley is displeased by the suggestion as she had been eyeing the position for herself. With little agreed, Glenda agrees to meet Phil for more negotiations later in the day, and when she pays her second visit, she teases Phil by claiming that his macho act is boring.
Meanwhile, Carol arrives at the bookies' for a shift but is distracted when Connor pulls up in a car and asks her to join him. Carol reluctantly agrees and once they have driven off together, Connor asks Carol why she won't admit her love for him. Carol is clearly uncomfortable by his questioning and asks to be taken back to work. When he continues to quiz her, Carol loses patience and gets out of the car.
Elsewhere, Roxy panics as her boiler breaks when Tanya and Greg are due to view the house; Dot is embarrassed when she realises there's been a mix-up over Edward; and Greg agrees to help the Masoods by patching up the roof at the Argee Bhargee, thus rescuing their plans for the grand re-opening.

When Alfie and Kat returned wasn't it said then that they would be involved in a two year long storyline?
