5807 Monday 3 January 2011 7.00pm – 7.30pm
David convinces Pollard to open up to Val but she insists she doesn't want to listen and has moved into the pub, convinced he killed his first wife. Later, Pollard forces Val to listen and breaks down as he admits he would have killed Elizabeth if the plane hadn't.
Pollard explains that Elizabeth had driven him mad in the last few weeks and he followed her to the spot where she was killed to reason with her. When she wouldn't listen, he was about to kill her, but the debris from the plane beat him to it. Val is rocked and tells Pollard to get out.
Meanwhile, nothing has changed after last night and Ella feels fed up. Needing a friendly face, she heads to Jai's house and tells him that she wants to be with Declan, so he advises her to keep it simple, sure Declan can never resist her. Later, Ella's attempt to seduce Declan backfires and she suggests it's time for her to move on. Declan knows he has to make the next move if he wants her to stay.
Elsewhere, Adam dumps Scarlett, and Will furiously throws his phone into the river when he gets a call while out with Belle.

5808 Tuesday 4 January 2011 7:00pm – 7:30pm
Amy is worried about Pollard and when she asks if he killed Elizabeth, he snaps at her to get out. Val arrives and reveals she's been doing some digging and has the coroner's report on Elizabeth's death. It proves Pollard is telling the truth, but Val is still confused. Later, they're shocked when Michael interrupts them, still wanting to make Pollard suffer.
Val defends Pollard to Michael, sure he knows as well as she does that Pollard is innocent. Michael then tries to return Pollard's blackmail money, but a guilty Pollard insists that he should keep it. When Michael goes, a relieved Pollard thanks Val but she insists this doesn't change anything - she doesn't know who he is anymore.
Meanwhile, in the village, Will panics as he spots Sam carrying one of the Home Farm guns. Ryan and Maisie try to calm him as he reveals he can't stop thinking about his dad. He admits Nathan keeps calling him and that's why he broke his phone. Ryan tries to assure Maisie that she's doing a great job and she has to stay strong. Will notices their embrace and hope appears on his face.
Elsewhere, Declan and Ella reunite for good; the girls at the factory continue to rib Lisa about Derek taking a shine to her; Belle chastises Sam for leaving the gun in sight of Will; Scarlett decides to go to Canada; and Jai voices his concern about Nikhil's involvement with Maisie.

5809 Wednesday 5 January 2011 7:00pm – 7.30pm
Will heads to the garage to hang out with Ryan and takes a moment to suggest to his brother that the three of them should move somewhere new as a family. Ryan is taken aback and, out of Will's earshot, he tells Maisie that could never happen given their past. However, it's clear that Maisie isn't as earnest in her belief as Ryan.
Later, Nikhil confides in Faye about his feelings for Maisie and about his brother's objections to her, so Faye advises him to listen to his heart. Nikhil returns to Holdgate to find Maisie waiting up for him. Overcome with emotion, Nikhil proposes…
Meanwhile, drinks are flowing when the factory staff head to the pub after their belated Christmas meal. Refusing to let Derek get a taxi, Lisa and Zak insist he stay at Wishing Well. Back at home, Zak heads to bed and whilst Lisa and Derek enjoy a nightcap and reminisce about the night, there is a moment between them. Lisa heads to bed and genuinely assures Derek that he's welcome when he thanks her for letting him stay.
Elsewhere, Chas and Gennie suspect Andy is making the nuisance calls, and Scarlett heads off to Canada but not before she and Jimmy have a run-in with Adam and Mia.
5810 Thursday 6 January 2011 7:00pm – 7:30pm ep 1
Things are awkward between Nikhil and Maisie as Maisie insists she still needs more time to give him an answer. Expecting he's been given the brush-off, Nikhil heads to work upset. Maisie confides in Ryan and wonders if living together would be so bad, but she's hurt when Ryan is dead against it.
Back at Holdgate, Nikhil awaits the inevitable but is shocked when Maisie tells him it's a yes. Will comes in and Maisie breaks the news that they are going to have a proper family again, but he quickly realises Maisie is doing this for the wrong reasons.
Meanwhile, Alicia's late picking up Jacob from school and is livid to learn that Justin has beaten her to it. David reasons that if Alicia properly sorted out custody this wouldn't have happened. Following the latest row, Leyla is left concerned for her sister.
Elsewhere, an incident at the factory leaves Lisa traumatised, and the villagers fish for gossip about Pollard and Val.

Belle finds Will wandering around outside and tries to comfort him as he announces his sister's getting married. As Belle insists everything will be okay, she's left crushed when Will tells her to shut up and get lost until she has a clue about what she's talking about.
Nikhil is over the moon about the engagement despite Jai's attitude. When Maisie breaks the news to Ryan, he's sure she's doing the wrong thing but she insists her new life starts here.
Meanwhile, Amy and Diane try to make Val see that Pollard would never hurt her. Pollard is convinced it's over and is thrown when Amy walks in with Val, who announces they belong together not apart.
Elsewhere, Diane wrestles with her feelings as all evidence continues to point to Doug having a new woman; Alicia worries about how Jacob would react if he found out that Leyla is his real mum; and there's a sense that Viv is really enjoying Terry's company.

Leyla quickly tries to calm Justin down when he blazes into the village and demands to see Alicia. He's reassured when Leyla promises to talk to her sister. Later, Alicia is still adamant that she's not making the first move with Justin because he's the one who's taking her to court.
Meanwhile, with Val back home, Pollard suggests it's time for Amy to return to foster care. Amy's gutted and Val works on Pollard to let Amy stay for her sake. Pollard's won round and Amy's delighted to learn she can stay.
Elsewhere, Terry takes pity on Viv when she's visited by an unwanted admirer from her dance class, and insists on attending her dancing class with her. Afterwards, it's clear that Terry only has good intentions but he's only encouraging Viv's feelings for him.
Also today, Diane can't help feeling she missed the boat when Doug admits that he is seeing someone.
