Bianca’s fantasy romance with Vittorio comes to a standstill when she receives a voice mail from Liam, proclaiming his love. In the message, Liam asks Bianca to call him back by the end of the day, otherwise he’ll know to move on. Once again, Bianca is forced to question if she’s making the right move by marrying Vittorio. But when April calls her on it, Bianca stubbornly stands by her decision. However, she cannot bring herself to delete the message; her heart is clearly still undecided.
Ruby is eager to start her driving lessons again so she can be taught by dreamy instructor, Alexander. Nicole worries Ruby might be getting her hopes up and warns her to let him make the first move. However after misreading the signals, Ruby goes out on a limb and asks Alexander out. Alexander declines the offer and Ruby is crushed. She tries to stop having lessons with him so he might feel better about going out with her, but he reveals he already has a girlfriend and convinces her to keep going with the lessons.
Irene tries to coax the truth out of Will about what happened in his marriage. Will refuses to spill but Irene is worried he’s bottling something up and neglecting Lily. As much as she tries to keep her concerns at bay, Irene gives Will and earful and Lily steps in to protect her dad, afraid Irene will make Will run away like Gypsy did. Lily’s outburst puts things in perspective for Will and comes forward with the truth; he cheated on Gypsy and that’s why she left.

After his confession to Irene, Will agrees to start focusing on Lily and setting up a life in Summer Bay. But Lily still has questions about Gypsy that Will can’t answer. Will spends the day with his daughter but is called away to be interviewed about Penn’s murder. Lily’s worried Will is going to leave like Gypsy did and is relieved when he comes back from the interview. Will thanks Irene for helping them through this tough time.
Nicole finds herself distracted from studying, worried about getting her HIV test results back. Miles tries to comfort her explaining that in the very unlikely scenario where they do come back positive, it doesn’t mean her life will stop. Miles reminds her she has a lot of friends willing to support her no matter what happens. After a gruelling day being interrogated by Robertson about Penn, Sid breaks the good news that Nicole’s results came back negative.
Robertson receives the forensics report on the hotel room and declares Penn’s disappearance now a murder investigation. He starts calling in everyone for interrogation – everyone except Alf, a detail that does not escape Miles or Alf. Robertson tries to ascertain if Alf threatened Penn but everyone avoids the question in their own way. However Robertson reveals he knows the truth about what happened that night at Angelo’s; Alf made a threat to “flaming kill” Penn. It seems Robertson is building a strong case against Alf.

The day of the Council Meeting arrives and April is anxious to get John to speak for the Water Bottle Ban. However, with all his break-up turmoil with Gina, John is less than enthusiastic about the idea. In order to get him to the meeting, Xavier tells him Gina will be there. John perks right up and goes to get ready, but unfortunately Gina will not be convinced to go. When John realises she’s not showing, he gives up the fight and leaves the meeting. The kids report back to Gina and she gives John a lecture about not letting their squabbles get in the way of something important. John coldly insists his decision not to back the scheme was designed to minimise stress for himself, but Gina can see right through it. Will Gina’s words have an affect on John?
Dex’s new infatuation for the young Detective Graves grows more every day. He bugs Sid and Marilyn to put in a good word for him but they remind Dex his crush is not a priority when they are being interviewed for a murder investigation. Taking matters into his own hands, Dex sends Graves a bunch of flowers asking her out on a date. Graves is mortified by the gesture when she receives them in front of her boss. But Robertson encourages her to take the date and make it a double. What does Robertson have planned?
Robertson continues to interview the Summer Bay locals about Penn’s disappearance. During Marilyn’s interview, Robertson asks her for a tarot reading later on. Cornered, Marilyn agrees to the reading, but fears she’ll get carried away and tell Robertson something that might incriminate her closest friends. Marilyn particularly worries about telling Robertson her dream where Alf killed Penn. Sid tries to allay her fears, but during the reading Robertson manages to pressure Marilyn into spilling about the dream. Has Marilyn made things worse for Alf?

Dex is surprised and ecstatic when Graves agrees to go on a date with him, on the condition they make it a double with Indi and Romeo. Little does Dex know it’s a disguised effort for Graves to find out more clues about the murder from Romeo. Romeo and Indi reluctantly agree to come to the date, although they are still on shaky ground after Indi stole Romeo’s letter from Annie.
At the date, Graves keeps on questioning Romeo which Indi reads as flirtation. Indi feels Romeo is still angry at her for reading the letter and is consistently on edge. Sick of being interrogated and realising they’re not having a good time, Romeo and Indi make their escape leaving Graves and Dex to get to know each other better. To Grave’s surprise she finds herself quite charmed by the odd teenager. At the end of the night, Dex tries his luck by asking her out again. However Graves cannot keep up the charade and confesses the date was a set up to get information out of Romeo. Dex is devastated.
As the Council Meeting continues, the clock is ticking for Xavier to get John back to fight for the Bottled Water Ban. Alf tries to delay proceedings to give them more time, but Xavier comes back to the meeting having given up. But just when all hope is lost, in comes John giving a compassionate plea to the Council – it seems Gina’s words got through to him. Unfortunately the Council vote against the ban but approve water fountains. It is a small victory but April and Xavier are happy and report back to Gina. The true victory for John comes later when Gina approaches, very impressed that he changed his mind. Maybe there is some hope for these two yet.

Marilyn tells Sid she had another dream about something coming to the Bay. Worried her last dream may have incriminated Alf for murder, Marilyn is worried and asks if she can stay with the Walkers another night. Sid makes a bad joke about Marilyn being a burden staying all the time which she takes seriously and walks off in a huff. Indi tells Sid he needs to make Marilyn understand how much she means to him. After much consideration Sid decides to do just that and asked Marilyn to move in with him and the kids.
Romeo tries to get to the bottom of Indi’s worries and she admits that she thinks Romeo is still pining for Annie. Romeo is at a loss of how to prove to Indi that she’s the one for him while Indi is trying her best not to let jealousy ruin her relationship. Indi finds Romeo on the beach and tries to apologise for how she’s been acting, but before she can get the words out, Romeo pulls her close, kissing her so passionately she’s swept off her feet.
Feeling guilty for telling Robertson she saw Alf kill Penn in a dream, Marilyn is avoiding Alf at every turn. Eventually she faces him and explains she told Robertson about the dream. Alf assures her one dream isn’t enough to lock him away and Marilyn is relieved he’s not angry. However, Alf later confides to Miles that he’s worried about the case is really building up against him. Added to his troubles is Marilyn’s latest dream that something is coming for Alf. What, or who, could it be?
