lol I think its the only time we've actually been made to feel some sympathy for Janine Butcher. But actually this time around I do. All this Ryan and Stacey stuff has happened so quickly, he didn't even ask for a DNA test, he's taken to playing dad like a duck to water. Now he's falling for Stacey. I think he's just to soft for janine.
Cant wait for what's to come though. Janine taking her revenge, when she tries to kill her hubby at xmas ha. One time I think I will actually be egging her on. She won't succeed though and I think they'll come out of it stronger than ever.

Stacey and Ryan arouse Janine's suspicions
Airs on Monday, December 6 2010 20:00 GMT on BBC One

Stacey worries as she prepares for a visit from the social worker and she's soon surprised when Ryan pays her a visit. He delivers a letter from Kat which contains an earring of Stacey's she found in the barrel store, and a note which says that she knows about the two of them. Stacey starts frantically looking for Lily's records in preparation for the social worker's visit but to no avail. She is sure that Jean has tided the house and put them somewhere safe so she leaves Ryan with Lily to go and see Jean at the stall. When Stacey returns, she is shocked to see Ryan sitting with the social worker and Lily.

In order to impress the social worker, the pair pretend they are in a relationship, but Stacey wonders whether Ryan is playing it up for the social worker or genuinely means it. Following the visit, Ryan tries to kiss Stacey. Back at The Vic, Alfie accidentally reveals that Kat sent Ryan to the Slaters' earlier in the afternoon, which worries Janine. Noticing a set of keys for the Slaters', Janine slyly exits The Vic, while Ryan and Stacey are in bed kissing passionately. After entering Stacey's home, Janine's hand hovers on the door handle of her enemy's bedroom door...

Meanwhile, Jay notices Phil buying jewellery from a man with the intention of selling it on and asks if he can become involved in the deal. Phil decides to give Jay a chance and gets him to collect some money from Connor. But Connor doesn't like being bossed about by Jay and peels off some notes from the bundle to keep for himself. Jay panics about how he will explain this to Phil.

Elsewhere, Ian and Phil discuss where Ben should live after he is released; Billy sets off on a mission to visit his son; and Peter seems oblivious to the fact that Whitney is unsatisfied with their relationship.

Billy is shocked by Julie's lies
Airs on Tuesday, December 7 2010 19:30 GMT on BBC One

A worried and stressed Julie turns up just in time to find Billy on the doorstep of the man who he now believes is their son. She tells him it's not their son, but someone who she used to work with. Julie explains that she had looked for their son but that he was not interested in knowing who his birth parents are, so she had fantasised that Roger was their child. Julie tries her hardest to explain her behaviour to a shocked Billy, but he thinks her lying is strange.

Meanwhile, Janine flings open the door to Stacey's bedroom to see Stacey and Lily cuddling on the bed. Still determined to find Ryan, Janine starts to search the room frantically, but an angry Stacey throws her out. It transpires that Ryan was hiding under the cot.

Later in The Vic, the Countdown to Christmas party gets under way and Pat enjoys Alfie's potent cocktails. As she stumbles home, she looks back at The Vic to see the shadow of Ryan snogging someone in a Christmas outfit in the upstairs window. She assumes it's Janine, but Janine exits the pub to collect some glasses. Pat is horrified - the only other person wearing a Christmas outfit is Stacey…

Elsewhere, Jay decides to approach Connor in an attempt to get the remaining money back. To assist Jay in his attempt, Shirley gives him some advice on how to act in an intimidating fashion. Phil finds out about the plan and tries to look for Jay to prevent anything happening, but he's too late and witnesses Jay confronting Connor. Jay knees Connor in the groin and Connor stumbles to the floor before handing the money over to Jay. Phil is impressed by Jay's actions and an elated Jay soon asks if he can change his surname to Mitchell.

Also today, Whitney takes up an offer to make some money by doing a job for Connor, and Ian refuses to listen when Peter says that he doesn't want a birthday party.

Pat makes a big decision
Airs on Thursday, December 9 2010 19:30 GMT on BBC One

Pat struggles with what she saw the previous night and contemplates what the right thing to do is. She decides to ask Dot for some advice, and Dot suggests that she should be careful as the messenger has a tendency to be shot. Meanwhile, Ryan bumps into Stacey and she suggests that they should go away for the weekend to escape the claustrophobic Square. Whitney soon guesses that something is up with Ryan and when the truth comes out, she issues a warning over his affair. Ryan ultimately returns home and lets Janine know that he needs to go away for the weekend as Phil has asked him to work. Stacey also asks Kat if she can have the weekend off.

Later, Pat pays Janine a visit and tells her that she does not want her to be made a fool of. Pat divulges that she saw Ryan and Stacey kiss the night before. Janine is broken and she crumbles in tears in Pat's arms. However, she quickly gathers herself and angrily states that she will not cry any more tears over Ryan - she is going to kill him…

Meanwhile, Ian approaches Glenda at the café, saying that he enjoyed their time together last time and he wants to go back to hers. Although Glenda initially resists and insists that she is busy, Ian pays her numerous compliments and they end up back at Glenda's. However, Glenda is left disappointed and unsatisfied and asks Ian whether any of his previous partners have given him advice or tips on how to satisfy a woman. Ian leaves frustrated and makes his way to The Vic.

Elsewhere, Jane realises that Whitney does not care as much about Peter as he does about her, but he remains oblivious and buys an engagement ring, while Pat plans to go to New Zealand and visit Simon and his family for Christmas.

Janine starts to plot her revenge
Airs on Friday, December 10 2010 20:00 GMT on BBC One

Ryan and Stacey look forward to their weekend away and vow not to let each other out of bed. Determined that the pair will not get away with their affair, Janine purchases some pills from a suspicious character in an alley. Later, she starts to play with the pills, almost seeming possessed as she repeats the names Ryan, Stacey and Lily. Meanwhile, Kat threatens Ryan that she is watching him and that he should be careful not to hurt Stacey. Ryan is annoyed that Stacey has been telling people about the two of them, but Stacey assures him that Kat will not tell anyone.

Pat decides not to go to New Zealand, as she realises Janine needs her. Ryan returns home to a candlelit dinner for two prepared by Janine. She passes him a glass of wine, careful that he takes the right glass, and they make a toast to Christmas…

Meanwhile, after Ian arrives home late for Peter's party, Peter asks his dad to make an effort with Whitney just like he had to do with Jane. It's clear that Peter is still smitten with Whitney. Peter shows Jane the engagement ring that he is planning to give to Whitney, but Jane tries to save Peter from the embarrassment of a rejection, telling him to wait until Valentine's Day, as this is far more romantic. Ian blurts out that he dislikes Whitney and claims that she is a walking STD. An angry Peter storms out of the party while Whitney, Lauren and Fatboy hurry after him. Ian seems unrepentant over the fact that he has upset his son, while Jane shoots him an angry look.

Elsewhere, Julie accompanies Billy as he drives a stolen car somewhere for Phil, but they get nervous when they get a flat tyre and come face-to-face with the police; Glenda receives another visit from Phil and they kiss passionately; and Julie worries that she may not make it home in time for her curfew.

SHE is the grand old dame of Walford - but it seems Dot Branning's heart really lies in WEATHERFIELD.
EastEnders viewers will soon see Dot telling Kat Moon she loves Coronation Street.

The reference to watching Corrie's 50th anniversary episode is believed to be the first time one soap has given a nod to a rival.

Dot, played by June Brown, tells Kat (Jessie Wallace): "I'm heading home to crack open a bag of marshmallows with Jim and watch the Corrie 50th special. I love Corrie, never miss it."

The December 9 episode will sit in between two Corrie specials on ITV1 featuring a devastating tram crash. An EastEnders insider said Dot's support was a tribute to the "soap that started it all".

The source added: "We did it as a tribute. Hopefully they will return the favour when we turn 50!"

EastEnders often refers to current events, recently mentioning England's World Cup failure.

Of course, June Brown appeared in Coronation Street.

Are there any other actors who have been in both?

Well done to Eastenders for doing this, especially since soap characters rarely watch TV let alone watch a rival soap.

EastEnders' Peter Beale will show his "rebellious side" when he proposes to Whitney Dean.

Actor Thomas Law - who plays the loved-up teen in the BBC One soap - admitted his father Ian (Adam Woodyatt) is not happy when he tells him he plans to tie the knot with wild Whitney (Shona McGarty).

He explained: "There's a very funny scene where Ian actually tells Whitney that she's a walking sexually transmitted disease! Peter obviously doesn't agree and thinks Ian's being nasty. Ian's convinced his son is making a big mistake, though.

"I guess this is Peter's first attempt at going against his dad. He's been controlled by Ian for so long that this relationship with Whitney is his only way of showing his rebellious side."

Despite his 'EastEnders' alter-ego being very much in love, Thomas admits Peter and Whitney aren't a good match in the romance stakes.

He added: "I don't get why Peter wants Whitney. But he has her best interests at heart in everything he does. At times, it does get a bit too much. He's oblivious to the glaring fact that she's just not that into him!"

'EastEnders' Janine Malloy will discover her love rival Stacey Branning killed Archie Mitchell.

The backstabbing baddie - whose husband Ryan (Neil McDermott) is cheating on her with the stallholder (Lacey Turner) - will be told by troubled teen Lauren Branning that her love rival murdered former flame Archie (Larry Lamb) last year.

Charlie Brooks - who plays Janine in the BBC One soap - said: "Lauren arrives on Janine's doorstep and all she wants is to get back at her father Max.

"She just gives Janine her mobile phone, the leaves. Janine plays the sound file - and when she hears Stacey's confession, she knows she has everything she needs to get rid of her for good."

Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) is still angry with her father Max Branning (Jake Wood) for his affair with Stacey when she was married to his son Bradley (Charlie Clements) but soon feels guilty for spilling the beans to Janine and confesses to Max.

Charlie added to Inside Soap magazine: "He breaks into Janine's flat to get the mobile but she catches him. After he's gone, Janine's relieved to find that the phone is still exactly where she hid it, so it's fame on as far as she's concerned.

Charlie also revealed that Janine plans to play the tape for all to hear at the Queen Victoria pub on Christmas Day (25.12.10).
