Aaron's current dilemma will soon come to a head in Emmerdale as he must make a final decision over whether to make things work with Jackson or move on with his life.

When Hazel tells Aaron that Jackson has been moved into a wheelchair and she wants him home by Christmas, Aaron continues with his stubborn ways - bitterly insisting that he no longer cares what happens to Jackson.

The discussion between the pair quickly leads to a furious row, prompting Aaron to head off to the Bar West gay club for some time to himself.

When a punter named Nick comes over and offers to buy the troubled mechanic a drink, Aaron accepts his approach - is he ready to start dating again? Or will he finally acknowledge how much Jackson means to him before it's too late?

Mon 6th Dec

It's a bittersweet moment for Jackson and Hazel when he's moved into a wheelchair. Although both are relieved, they're reminded of the seriousness of Jackson's disability and his absolute helplessness. Jerry arrives at the hospital and offers Hazel a cheque to help with the costs, but it's not much and tempers flare up again.

The pair eventually call a truce, but Hazel is still worried about affording accommodation until Declan kindly offers to let her have Dale Head at a token rent.

Meanwhile, John and Moira decide to take Holly back to the clinic and get her back on methadone. Holly is determined to work through it this time and there's a sense she hates herself for what she's done. The family realises that they can only deal with the situation together - and Holly, Moira and John later join forces to decorate their Christmas tree.

Elsewhere, Viv lies to Bob by claiming she's been mugged; Mia is less than enthused with her hairnet and overalls when Declan arranges a packing job for her at Jai's factory; and Maisie is grateful when Nikhil helps to cheer Will up.

Tues 7th 1900

Hazel is concerned over how Jackson might react to renting the house next door to Aaron's work. Having got the keys from Declan, Hazel shows Rhona and Paddy around, describing her ambitious plans to renovate it. They're all concerned by Aaron's dismissive reaction when Hazel mentions moving to Dale Head.

Later, Hazel tries to cover her distress by walking away when Jackson outright refuses to return to the village. It transpires that Jackson wants to move somewhere no-one knew him before the accident.

Meanwhile, Viv is grateful when Bob offers to ease her worries by staying over again. He also offers to change the locks after hearing Viv's tale of how her keys were stolen in the 'mugging'. Later, Viv is disappointed when Terry arrives to change her locks, saying he offered to do it for Bob. Terry cuts his finger and rummages in Viv's first aid kit, where he finds her apparently stolen keys and purse…

Elsewhere, Charity is impressed when Chas tells her that Carl has remortgaged his house to pay for the wedding, and Victoria tries to talk to Aaron about his relationship with Jackson.

Tues 7th 2000

Aaron dismisses Hazel when she tells him that Jackson was just giving him a way out of feeling obligated to care for him. Aaron leaves full of self loathing after overhearing Hazel explain to Paddy her sadness about Jackson's loveless future.

Later, Aaron agrees to go home with a man in Bar West, but at the last minute ducks out and visits Jackson where he explains he's tried to move on but can't. He begs Jackson to move to Dale Head, saying they belong together.

Meanwhile, Terry confronts Viv about finding her housekeys. She explains how lonely she's felt since the separation and begs him not to reveal her deceit. Can Viv find a way to move on from Bob?

Elsewhere, Chas gets emotional when Carl speaks about how much he trusts her, while Sam is distressed to hear that Samson might be dyslexic.

Thurs 9th 1900 Hour Long Episode

Hazel is thrilled when Aaron reveals that he and Jackson have patched things up and he's committed to him, however Paddy still has his doubts. Later, Aaron and Jackson escape from the hospital and head to Bar West. Jackson feels pitying eyes are on him and worries he's not ready to face the world yet.

With renewed determination, Jackson finally agrees to go in and although he's conscious all eyes are on him, he tries his best to enjoy himself. When they return to the spinal unit, Jackson breaks down as he's hit by the reality of his life now. Distraught and feeling helpless, Hazel rashly promises her son that he'll be in his new home in time for Christmas.

Meanwhile, Marlon is shocked when he arrives home to find Paddy in the living room with the X-box and a pizza. Marlon is awkward and claims pizza won't stop him being angry, but he can't help but smile when he's faced with the little things that make their friendship. As Paddy apologises, it's clear his words are heartfelt - but will the pair be able to clear the air?

Elsewhere, Chas starts to feel guilty about the sham wedding, especially when Lisa laments the fact that the ceremony will be the first family occasion without Shadrach and Zak says that he'd be honoured to give her away. Chas feels even worse when she hears that Carl's kids will be present on the day - will she really let them watch her humiliate Carl?

Also today, Jai catches Charity out; Lisa is fed up with Wishing Well freezing up over winter; and Brenda is unenthused when Terry invites Viv to spend Christmas Day with them.

Fri 10th 1900

Chas is worried about the number of people who'll be caught in the crossfire at the wedding. However, as she and Carl hand out the invites, she knows there's no going back. Chas feels terrible when Carl arranges to go to Wishing Well for dinner and tries to cancel, but Carl won't have it and insists on going.

As Carl makes a heartfelt speech at dinner and Zak welcomes him to the family, Chas feels wretched, but is sure she's sensed a change in him. Will Chas stay on the path of revenge?

Meanwhile, Paddy and Marlon sit together in the café and although it's awkward, their old banter returns to disguise the deeper issue. Later, when Rhona tells Paddy she has a scan tomorrow, he suggests asking Marlon to come along. Marlon tells her he hasn't changed his mind but gives his blessing for Paddy to go. Will Marlon regret his decision?

Elsewhere, Charity gets Jai to agree to a £10,000 sweetener to get the Dingles to agree to the deal; Hazel is determined to get the Dale Head ready for Jackson in time for Christmas but there is a lot of work of be done; and Viv is touched by Terry's genuine concern for her.
