Emmerdale's Mark Charnock has teased that viewers can expect "big twists" in his current love triangle plot.

In the ITV soap, Charnock's Marlon Dingle is unaware that his girlfriend Rhona (Zoe Henry) is in love with his best friend Paddy (Dominic Brunt).

"Things go to a shocking new level," Charnock told the TV Times. "There are some big twists to come. That's all I'm going to say!"

Henry added: "It's going to be explosive. Where love is concerned, emotions are always high. Rhona takes a big risk in breaking up those boys and their friendship and she doesn't take the decision lightly."

The show's series producer Gavin Blyth previously revealed that there will be "heartache" and "heartbreak" for Paddy and Marlin and that they would have their friendship "broken apart".

Brunt said: "You've also got to remember that Paddy has the Dingles to contend with and people in the village are going to take sides."

Zoe Henry has admitted that she is "delighted" to be part of Emmerdale's ongoing love triangle plot.

The actress reprised her role as vet Rhona Goskirk earlier this year and began a relationship with Malon Dingle (Mark Charnock). However, Rhona has found herself in a tricky situation as she realised her true feelings for his best friend Paddy (Dominic Brunt).

"I was delighted," she told the TV Times. "For a start, of all the characters I have ever played, I didn't think they would revive this one, so to be involved in such a big storyline is a privilege.

"For Rhona, this isn't anything trivial, it's an enormous step to come between these two and she doesn't take the decision lightly. She's not a strumpet - she's somebody who has fallen deeply in love."

Charnock agreed, adding: "I love stories like this and I think it's one of the best I've been involved with. I'm really good friends with Dom and I love the relationships that's grown between Marlon and Paddy. This is as much about their bromance as it is about Rhona."

VET Rhona Goskirk finally confesses her love to colleague Paddy Kirk – her ex Marlon Dingle’s best mate.

And although he’s shocked, it doesn’t take Paddy long to realise that he too has feelings for the pretty brunette.

But with chef Marlon devastated at the break-up, the pair realise it’s going to be difficult for anything to happen.

However, as our saucy pic shows, Paddy forgets all about heartbroken Marlon as he enjoys this smooch with Rhona.
Viewers are now left wondering what will happen if Marlon ever finds out. An Emmerdale insider said: “Neither Paddy nor Marlon had any idea why Rhona ended it. So when she confesses her love for Paddy he’s completely gob-smacked.

“They agree they can never act on their feelings but the following day they can’t help themselves and end up enjoying their first kiss. It’s going to get very messy.”

Fans of the hit ITV1 soap can watch the action a week on Wednesday.

8th Nov

The Bartons panic when Hannah raises the alarm that Holly is missing. We then see that Holly is trawling the streets, latching on to any man she passes. Eventually, she is led by the hand through a doorway down a dark alley.

Later, as Bob and Hazel are driving home from hospital, they pass a slumped Holly on the street and take her home. Worse for wear, Holly's blasé attitude angers her parents as they question how she got the money. She shamefully confesses that there are ways to get money, and the awful truth sinks in as they realise that Holly sold herself for drugs.

Meanwhile, Marlon is determined to win back Rhona's heart, but a frank conversation with Paddy sets him straight. Paddy explains that Rhona simply doesn't love him any more and there's no going back. With his own feelings on hold, Paddy agrees to hit Hotten with Marlon on the lookout for love.

Elsewhere, Ryan returns to work; Chas strikes again when she deletes all the files from Carl's computer; and Cain threatens Nathan at the pub.

9th

As Paddy heads into work with a banging headache, he's forced to admit to Rhona that he was out on the town with Marlon last night. However, their conversation is cut short when a mysterious woman arrives looking for Paddy.

It's clear that Paddy pulled last night and Rhona is upset when she hears that he plans to see the woman again. Later, Rhona is unable to ignore her feelings for any longer and questions Paddy's game, sure he's doing it to mask his true feelings. As Rhona opens her heart and tells Paddy how she really feels, will Paddy reciprocate?

Meanwhile, John and Moira find Holly riffling through the medicine cabinet, desperate for something to take. In sheer desperation, John takes drastic action by fitting a bolt to her bedroom door. With her mobile confiscated, the door bolted and their fragile junkie daughter locked inside, John and Moira can only pray they are doing the right thing.

Elsewhere, Jackson's loved ones learn that he's been cleared of any head injuries and will be moved to the spinal unit; Declan goads Nathan at the lack of potential buyers for Home Farm; and Lizzie outs Viv's feelings for Bob.

10th

As the tension between them continues, Paddy asks Rhona to talk. As he finally acknowledges the chemistry between them, Rhona is setting herself up for rejection, but Paddy confesses she's gorgeous and pulls her in for a kiss.

Immediately feeling disloyal to Marlon, Paddy pulls back. Rhona insists she and Marlon are over, but Paddy refuses to betray his friend, even if that means denying his true feelings. Will Rhona be able to accept Paddy's loyal decision?

Meanwhile, Hazel remains positive about her son's surgery, but Jackson is unsure he should be hoping for miracles. Aaron's grateful when Adam offers to go with him to the hospital tomorrow when Jackson has his surgery. Will the surgery be good news for Jackson?

Elsewhere, Diane offers to give Hannah a home until Holly is better; Viv resorts to drastic measures to get Bob's attention; and Jai gives Charity a proposition that means screwing over her own.

11th 7pm

Aaron, Hazel, Jerry and Adam rally round Jackson's bedside as he awaits his operation. Hazel attempts to keep the mood light-hearted, but when doctors arrive to take Jackson to surgery, the atmosphere becomes sombre and everyone is left to say their goodbyes.

As they await Jackson's return, Adam attempts to get a subdued Aaron to talk, but his reluctance is obvious. With no sign of Jackson, Aaron starts quizzing anyone that walks past, anxious to know he's okay. Moments later, Jackson is returned to his room but the consultant has no news. They are told to wait until Jackson comes round and so the waiting game agonisingly continues.

Meanwhile, sensing Nathan's urgency to sell Home Farm, Declan makes him a second offer - one which is even lower than the first. Declan goads Nathan by declaring that he's the only interested party and vows that his offers will get lower every time Nathan rejects them. Later, a suited and booted Nathan smugly passes a curious Declan and explains that he has a very important business meeting to attend. Has Nathan found a buyer?

Elsewhere, Paddy and Rhona try to act as if nothing happened the previous day; Amy returns to greet Val and Victoria; and Viv accuses Bob of not taking her fears seriously.

11th 8pm

As the consultants carry out reflex tests on Jackson, his family and friends wait outside for news on the results. Jackson's raw anxiety is evident as the consultant asks if he can feel the pin he places against his body. Jackson fights back tears of disappointment as it becomes clear he can't feel anything.

Frustrated that there are still no answers, Hazel tracks down the consultant and forces him to admit that it's looking highly likely that Jackson will remain paralysed from his shoulders down. Bereft, Hazel agonises about how she's going to deal her own child such a crushing blow, but Aaron vows that he'll be the one to do it. As Aaron struggles to tell Jackson he'll never walk again, Jackson's world collapses as his worst fears are confirmed.

Meanwhile, a smug Nathan arrives in The Woolpack and announces that he's found a buyer for Home Farm. Simmering at Nathan's glory, Ryan leaves. Wound up, Nathan follows him out, just in time to see Ryan smash his car window. Nathan's furious, but Maisie orders him to let it go.

Elsewhere, Nick buys Katie a drink; Rhona struggles to move on from recent events; Val appears torn when Amy heads home after her day in the village; and Bob falls for Viv's false concern and agrees to stay another night.

12th

At the spinal unit, the atmosphere is awkward as Aaron attempts to make small talk with a despondent Jackson. As the boys sit in silence, a nurse arrives to carry out a personal hygiene task. Full of humiliation at Aaron seeing just how much help he needs, Jackson's overcome with rage and orders Aaron to get out.

Later, Aaron finds the courage to return and tries to make light of the situation, joking that Jackson should stop feeling sorry for himself. Incredulous, Jackson tells Aaron to leave and spits that he holds him fully responsible. Floored to hear the words, Aaron's rocked as Jackson tells him he never wants to see him again.

Meanwhile, Cain is thrilled when Debbie returns from Jersey, but is curious over her rather sudden reappearance. Later, Charity pays her a visit and soon has her spilling the beans on her adventure over a drink in The Woolpack. Finally fessing up, Debbie admits that her boss had tried it on with her but she declined his advances and told him where to stuff it.

Elsewhere, Paddy is alarmed when he learns that Rhona plans to leave the village, and a smug Nathan goads Declan, knowing the sale of Home Farm is nearly complete.

Cain and Charity are left curious when Debbie returns from Jersey in tonight's episode of Emmerdale.

Arriving back in the village after eight months away, Debbie quickly announces that she'll be sticking around for good - but declines to reveal the reasons behind her sudden reappearance.

Cain is thrilled to see his daughter again, but is unsatisfied with her secretive behaviour and repeatedly presses her to explain why she's back.

It's not until Debbie catches up with her family at The Woolpack later that she finally starts to spill the beans about her adventures in Jersey…

Emmerdale airs tonight at 7.00pm on ITV1.
