As David leaves for the magistrates he faces an agonising wait, which is made worse when Tina arrives.

Finally, David's called, but as he takes the stand events take a surprising turn as he collapses…

Meanwhile, when a horrified Becky insists Kylie can't take Max to Ayia Napa, Kylie counters that if she knows what's best for him, she can look after him. It's what Kylie wanted all along, but when she taps Steve up for some cash and he refuses it looks like the trip is off. Will the temptation of the Roy's Rolls till prove too much for her?

Elsewhere, Jason warns Rosie that she won't be able to take him for a ride, and Maria agrees to a date with Chris.

Tina's convinced David is pulling a fast one to try and delay the hearing, but when the paramedics arrive and talk to David about his blackout, it looks like there may be more to it.

As the doctor discusses possible epilepsy, David latches onto it as an explanation of why he crashed and goes to visit Graeme. But while he waits for diagnosis, will anyone buy his story?

Elsewhere, Maria goes on her date with Chris, but Lloyd throws a spanner in the works by informing her what he's really like; and Rosie is shocked when Jason arrives at the Websters' with a surprise gift.

Elsewhere, Coronation Street's Rosie Webster is about to secure her big break when she gets offered a lucrative modelling job at the last minute because another girl has dropped out.

Rosie's excitement soon turns to panic, however, when she calls a cab and hears that none are available for another 40 minutes.

Desperate, the ambitious promotions girl turns to Jason for help and he agrees to drive her to the shoot. When they arrive, though, Rosie faces another setback as she's informed that the male model has also cancelled and there's no time to find a replacement.

At Rosie's suggestion, Jason is roped in to take his place - although he's far from pleased about it…

Yes, David will be diagnosed with epilepsy

So after seeing David growing up in the series and not one jot of a illness like epilepsy throughout the years, all of a sudden he's got it - come on - this comedy half hour is getting beyond it. Time this show was taken off the Soap of The Year Awards, because its nothing like a soap.

Epilepsy can occur at any time, without prior signs of illness. I think it is good of Corrie to introduce this because a lot of people don't know what to do if they come across somebody having a fit. I hope they show it sensitively and well researched.

As somebody with epilepsy myself, I can confirm that it can start at any point during life. Sometimes it is idopathic (without cause), other times it can be caused by a head injury or traumatic or premature birth. There are over 40 different forms of epilepsy. I was diagnosed at 16, my friend's mum has been diagnosed at 80-odd. Its a condition that is so unpredictable you cannot possibly know if you will develop it at some point during your life.

Many epileptics are never diagnosed. The symptons are so similar to many other medical conditions. Epilepsy is hardly the subject for a comedy half hour

The symptoms are so wide and varied, as you say Alan. They can range from just losing track of what's going on (absence seizures), muscle twitches (myoclonic seizures), an altered state on consciousness (complex) to the seizure type that most people associate with epilepsy (tonic clonic, formerly known as grand mal).

I have complex partial seizures, the neurologist estimated I'd been undiagnosed for at least two years. Thankfully I'm coming up to five years seizure free now and in another eight years I'll be able to hold a driving license for more than three years without renewing it.

Epilepsy affects every part of one's life, especially if one drives, has a stressful job or works in an environment non-conducive to the condition. Its good that a soap is highlighting this issue, its something that is grossly misunderstood by almost everybody who hasn't had contact with somebody with epilepsy.

I suppose if it had been shown on Deadenders it would have been regarded as ground breaking and pushing the boundaries of drama with a hard hitting storyline

Is it the first time epilepsy has been shown on a soap? Disregarding alcohol induced seizures and those related to other conditions such as diabetes and brain injury. I can't think of any fictional program that has had an epilepsy storyline

My Marley was tested for Epislepy when she was a baby. From the age of 5 months to 4 years old. Marley kept having body shudders. It can only be described as shivering as if someone has walked over your grave. She had a number or brain scans and other test right up until she was seven but they couldn't detect anything. Also my brother suffers seziures. This is due to a head injury. long story when he was 9 he fell out a tree, but the fall saved his life as a few months before he was hit on the head with a stone. This caused a bone in his brain to disease and the fall from the tree caused him to have a seziure and having to be taken to hospital. My brother hasn't had a seziure in years but the ones he's had were brought on after a car accident and a fight.

Corrie's Samia Smith reveals Maria’s bad luck in love continues when she falls for a wife-beater...

How do Maria and Chris end up getting together?
"They seem to be bumping into each other quite a lot. Liz spots the spark between them both and says to Maria, ‘He’ll be asking you out soon.’ And next thing he does. Chris comes into the salon, has his hair cut and asks her out for a drink."

Where do they go?
"The Rovers of course. They get on really well and are planning to head out... then Chris goes to the loo and Lloyd tells Maria he isn’t someone she wants to know and that his wife has a few bruises to prove it."

How does Maria react?
"She’s shocked and gutted. She believes Lloyd as he’s not the type to lie about something like that. When Chris returns from the loo, Maria makes the excuse that Liam’s not well and she has to go home."

Will it put her off him for good?
"You’d think so with her track record. I don’t think it does though. I’m not sure how it pans out, but I believe she goes back for more."

Has she learned nothing from her past experiences?
"I like to think she wouldn’t stand for any rubbish this time round. She might want to see for herself what kind of man Chris is before judging him. Who knows? Perhaps Maria’s got to a stage where anything less than a murderer is a result."

What attracts Maria to Chris?
"He’s a bit like Charlie Stubbs. Rough around the edges. He’s charming, too, and Maria can’t help liking him."

Is there a man in the Street who’d be right for Maria?
"Tyrone. She had a peaceful life with him. They really loved each other and he made her laugh – although he did cheat on her with Fiz."

Is she destined to have a rubbish love life?
"It does look that way. But as an actress it’s much more interesting if Maria’s relationships fail. At least they’ve all been different and none of them have been boring..."

Possible future storyline? : After Molly dies, Maria will be there to comfort Ty and he can become stepfather to little Liam whilst Kevin and Sally get to bring up the baby Tyrone thought was his son. :hmm:
