Emmerdale's John and Moira Barton will soon realise that their daughter Holly's problems are far from over when they walk into her room and find her inhaling heroin.

The shock moment occurs just as it seems that Holly is ready to get her life back on track, having attended a counselling session following encouragement from her parents.

Although Holly does a runner from her first meeting with the therapist, she later tells John and Moira that she was simply scared - giving them some hope that the situation could improve over time.

However, when Holly's family stumble in on her latest drug-taking session, the troubled teen slumps into a heap.

Completely horrified by the latest incident, John and Moira are left to wonder whether their daughter will be okay.

Moira takes Holly to counselling and the therapist assures Moira that they are doing the right thing as Holly excuses herself to go to the toilet. As time passes, however, Moira realises Holly has done a runner.

Back at home, Holly eventually turns up and admits she was scared. Later, John is horrified to find her inhaling drugs in her bedroom. John and Moira are grief-stricken to realise it was heroin as Holly slumps in a heap on the bed. Will Holly be okay?

Meanwhile, Nicola and Charity argue over Charity's expenses and an annoyed Charity drops Jimmy in it by mentioning the dirty texts. While Nicola storms off, Carl begs Jimmy to back up his story. Will Jimmy keep Carl's sordid secret?

Elsewhere, Diane offers some advice to Hannah; tensions rise at the hospital in the aftermath of the collision; while Amy charms Val and Pollard before lying that she's a trainee nurse to get a discount B&B rate.


Jimmy gives Carl an ultimatum
Airs on Tuesday, October 12 2010 19:00 BST on ITV1

Eve arrives back from France and is confused by Jimmy's disapproval. She quickly arranges a night with Carl, and when she hears about Chas being away it's clear that she's happy to be number one for a while.

The lies and secrecy are taking their toll on Jimmy, as he deals with Nicola's belief that he has a fancy woman. Later, Jimmy enters Mill Cottage and is stunned at Eve's state of undress. He furiously warns Carl to end it with Eve or he will tell Chas. Will Carl do what his brother says?

Meanwhile, Diane lets slip to Moira that she should have a word with Hannah. At home, Moira tentatively questions Hannah, who's relieved that her mum is angry or disappointed. Moira tells John about their latest failings as parents and insists they need to be supportive rather than angry.

Elsewhere, Victoria becomes suspicious of Amy when the newcomer is forced to deal with a medical situation.


Carl promises to dump Chas
Airs on Wednesday, October 13 2010 19:00 BST on ITV1

Carl assures Eve that he can handle Jimmy and suggests that she should move back into Edna's so they can carry on more discreetly. Later, he lies to Jimmy that he's ended things with Eve and asked her to move out. Pleased, Jimmy tells him to get Nicola off his back.

A reluctant Carl tells Nicola that the texts were for him and manages to convince her not to tell Chas. Back at Pear Tree, Eve gives Carl an ultimatum to end things with her or Chas and, in the heat of the moment, Carl agrees to end it with Chas. What has Carl got himself in to?

Meanwhile, Victoria finds evidence that Amy isn't who she said she is. Confronted over the matter, Amy tells Victoria that she's run away from her foster parents. Victoria is left torn about whether to tell Val or not.

Elsewhere, Maisie returns to the village and must decide whether to help Ryan, while the Bartons feel the strain as they watch Holly round the clock.

Nathan comes close to breaking point
Airs on Thursday, October 14 2010 20:00 BST on ITV1

Nathan almost lets too much slip in his distress as he confronts Maisie in the street. Natasha sees what's going on and quickly intervenes as Nathan guiltily tries to explain. Maisie and Faye are left wondering what Nathan means when he screams that whatever he's done was for her and Will.

Back at Home Farm, Nathan is tormented to realise he's losing Maisie and his inheritance as Natasha emotionally forces him to face the fact there's no going back now.

Meanwhile, Alicia wants a job in the village and plots to try to get Doug fired from Leyla's shop so she can have the position instead. Leyla outright refuses, so Alicia's job search leads her to The Woolpack.

Elsewhere, when Cain gives Amy an ultimatum, she struggles to get the mechanic off her back.


Maisie demands the truth from Nathan
Airs on Friday, October 15 2010 19:00 BST on ITV1

Maisie is determined to get the truth from her brother and confronts Nathan about killing Mark. She tries to get through to him, but he feigns innocence and deflects her questions.

After his run-in with Maisie, Nathan is even more determined to see Ryan go down, believing that it is the only way to get his sister back. Natasha is relieved to have him back on side.

Meanwhile, when a social worker turns up, Val and Pollard are stunned to discover that Amy is a 15-year-old runaway. The pair hear that Amy has a history of lying and her foster parents are lovely. As Amy is driven away, she signals to Victoria to call her.

Elsewhere, Leyla offers to watch Jacob while Alicia works at her new job; Maisie tries to make Cain feel guilty for not helping Ryan; and the crash aftermath continues at the hospital as the doctor breaks terrible news.

As much as I hate Nathan I hope Natasha is found out as the killer

If the whole truth comes out, Natahn will have to pay the consequences for covering for Natasha and not reporting her to the authorities when he found out she killed Mark and I hope that this happens or both Natasha and Nathan go on the run....
