Hi all,
I'm new on here but as a huge soap fan thought I would pose a question to you regarding ex- eastenders actors.
Who do you think has done the best since leaving, if any?- do you wish certain characters had stayed - are there any you wish could return????
I personally was always a massive Dennis fan so if he could return from the dead like Dirty Den I would def be happy- though it would be cool if Sharon came back.
PLEASE POST FEEDBACK!!!! L

I would say Michelle Collins did really well (Cindy Beale). She's been in loads of thing on screen and stage. Though it does seem that all soap actors do quite well to begin with and then fade into oblivion. I would love Cindy to return. I know it would be slightly unbelievable, but she was an amazing character and actress. And she could stir some proper trouble up on the square.

I would say Ross Kemp, Tamzin Outwaite and Michelle Collins have done the best. To be honest I wouldn't like to see any off old cast members returning because the writers have always made a t*ts up of previous cast members returning. IMO programmes have to go forwards not backwards to progress and the bringing back of old cast members is not the way to do it. I hope I'm proved wrong but I can see the returning of Kat and Alfie being a joke like Dirty Den and Nick Cotton returning to the square.
Didnt a lot of them join The Bill?

I think "slightly" is a bit of an understatement seeing as she died in childbirth 12 years ago!

I dunno. Anythings possible on EE. Bring the dead back to lif is a minor problem for the scriptwriters. They should try something really difficult like writing a decent storyline
I think Tamzin Outhwaite has done brilliantly since leaving EE, shes never been short on roles and now shes in the west end.
I agree i think that characters coming back have never gone to plan unless its cause the actor was always meant to return like a maternity or a sabatical then thats different, they ruined it with bringing back dead people which is just ludicris.

.
I really want to see her in the west end, I thought her performance on Over the rainbow was great
and me, ive never been that into sweet charity but her tv performances have been really good.
Id never really heard of the musicals but I know some of the songs

She is the Daz washing powder ads now she was when she first left very sucessful in UK dramas but not now
Ross Kemp does well with his documentaries
No other the past actors and actresses have made any dent in the US only Michelle Ryan and Sean Maguire tried and failed
Nigel Harmon seems to have faded away after Hotel Babylon and what has Martin Kemp been up too?
Tazmin has done well in other UK dramas and on the West End stage but nothing spectular

Nothing major so
The thing with acting though is theres so many of them, for me a major success is movies in america, so for any of those that have gone on to do a few other roles and stuff I think is good for them, cos the trouble with soaps is being typecast

To me a good actor/actress is someone who can adapt to many different roles. There are many UK actors/actresses who haven't made it big in America but can still turn out an award winning performance on a tv drama. I don't get that so many soap cast members just disapear or turn to reality tv once they've left the soap. Writers and Directors should be snapping them up because of the skills they should have learned, such as working long days, learning lines quickly and working to deadlines. But I just feel that many cast members now in soaps not just EE have no drive to progress on to different roles. They have become to comfy in their soap role and don't bother to put in any effort when playing a role.
Ross Kemp launches new production company
Ross Kemp is to sever his ties with Tiger Aspect after five years and set up his own production company called Freshwater Films.
According to Broadcast, Freshwater will produce all of the former EastEnders star's future programmes for Sky, with whom he has an exclusive deal.
The company will also work to develop emerging talent for similarly "hard-hitting, factual shows" for which Kemp has become renowned. The resulting programmes could be shown on other broadcasters and also be fronted by women.
Kemp has taken his production team of series producer Matt Bennett and producer Tom Watson to the new Freshwater offices in London's Aldwych, which they will share with Paul O'Grady's production company, Olga TV.
Freshwater's first commission is understood to be the second series of Ross Kemp: Extreme World for Sky 1, which will be five or six parts depending on the commission.
"I can't run around with 18-year-old marines getting shot at forever, although this isn't a retirement plan," Kemp said.
"Like any other start-up indie, I hope to go on to bigger and better things. It's all about getting the orders, and hopefully commissioners from other channels will want to work with us on big-budget shows with high production values."
So he won't have time for a return to Albert Square, as much as some fans would like to see him back

I was going to say he's filming The Hobbit, but I just read he's not doing that any more. He's filming something else, though, according to IMDB.

Rob Kazinsky has joined True Blood as a series regular.
The 28-year-old, who starred as Sean Slater on EastEnders between 2006 and 2009, will play a charismatic faerie named Ben, according to TVLine.

Wiki says:
Since 2010 Clements has provided the voice-over for Orange mobile phone adverts.
Clements has just finished playing the part of David Filde in a touring production of the Charles Dickens novel The Haunting. Of the role he said "I play a young book-dealer who has been sent to a manor house in the middle of the country to catalogue the books of the late Lord Gray, who was the father of Paul Nicholas' character. Then strange noises start happening and books begin to fly off shelves. From there, it's a quest to find out what is going on in the house".
From the 23rd May-16 June Charlie will be playing the role of Mick in Meredith Oakes controversial play "Faith" at the Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton, London. In preparation for this role, Clements underwent full military training sessions and was spotted performing drills and exercises in central London as a part of the publicity for the show.
I'm glad to know he's still busy :)

Did anyone see Christopher Parker on Celebrity Pointless tonight on BBC1 before Strictly. He was asked by Alexander Armstrong on what he is up to these days? He has been studying Law and doing a bit of TV personality, but wants to continue with Law degree. No surprises he was terrible at acting.
