Big Beard has explained the ins and outs of the pirate task to the Housemates.

For the duration of the week the Housemates will act out the role of pirates on the Big Brother Tall Ship. One Housemate will be appointed Captain and will be exempt from day-to-day duties while other Housemates will make up their crew, aka seamen.

All Shipmates will have to live by the strict pirate code set by Big Beard.

The first task will be to appoint the Captain. Rather than using the traditional pirate method of fighting to the bloody death, and making each other walk the plank, Shipmates will draw plastic swords from a barrel. Whoever picks the longest sword will become captain.

For once size really does matter, though Science claims that the "motion of the ocean" is just as important.

Anthony pulled the first sword and Craig went next. "Mine's bigger than yours" he squealed, mocking Anthony's smaller blade. But it wasn't as small as Kemal's whose was absolutely tiny.

"Oooh, that's a big fella," Anthony breathed as Maxwell drew out a mighty blade.

But it was the owner of the House's most throaty 'Oooh Argh!' that won the day. Science pulled out the longest sword and became Captain.

Captain Science surveyed his motley crew. "I'm entitled to certain privileges, arr, ha ha ha, ha ha har," Captain Science cackled.

This could be very, very interesting maties
