View Full Version : Paul Robinson to leave???
Paul Robinson’s head could be on the block in the show’s special 6,000th episode.
The soap will celebrate the anniversary when the episode is screened next month in Australia and here on Channel 5 later in the year.
And speculation is raging that Paul, played by Stefan Dennis, below, might not make it to the 6,001st episode.
Executive producer Susan Bower dropped the hint in her blog on the show’s Aussie website.
She said: “Episode 6,000 marks Australian television history.
“As Stefan was in the first episode 25 years ago it was decided his character plays a most important role in this special event.
“Paul has been up to his usual tricks and everyone on Ramsay Street is becoming really sick of him. What will they do about it?
“Celebrations for the big day are taking place all over Oz.
“Why don’t you do the same? Gather your friends and watch as history unfolds!”
They won't get rid of Paul Robinson (unless Stefan wants to leave).

I can't see him leaving yet.
I read in an interview he said he would be happy to stay until 2015 and beyond. I hate how Neighbours always picks on Paul. He may be evil, but so is everyone else on the show atleast Paul admits to it
Neighbours bosses have revealed details of a dramatic whodunit storyline which will air to mark the soap's 6,000th episode.
Later this year, viewers will see Paul Robinson's (Stefan Dennis) life left hanging in the balance when he is pushed from the mezzanine level of Lassiters in a shock attempted murder plot.
The sinister event will be screened in a special week of episodes which are due to air in the UK from October 11. In the run-up to episode 6,000 - airing on October 15 - a new suspect will be revealed each day, as possible motives of Paul's many foes and the events leading up to his fall are explored.
A statement released by Neighbours' British broadcaster Five said: "With so many enemies, it will be hard to narrow down who had the motive to harm him. Who pushed P.R?"
The show's executive producer Susan Bower previously hinted at the forthcoming plot last month, saying: "Paul Robinson, or P.R as we like to call him, has been up to his usual tricks over the past few weeks and everyone on Ramsay Street is becoming really sick of him. What will they do about it?"
Neighbours' 6,000th episode - which airs in Australia later this month - will also see on-off lovers Ringo Brown (Sam Clark) and Donna Freedman (Margot Robbie) tie the knot.

oooh i like that. so long as he doesn't die an attempted murder plot could be good!
Yeah this is interesting :D sounds very exciting
BAD boy Paul Robinson will finally get his come-uppance in one of the soap’s biggest whodunnit plots.
By the time the businessman is pushed off a balcony at Lassiter’s the list of people who want him dead reaches double figures.
In scenes to be screened later this year Paul will be attacked at a wedding as he leans over the balcony contemplating his future.
His wife Rebecca will have only just discovered he’s cheated on her again and the last thing he feels like doing is celebrating Ringo Brown’s wedding to Donna Freedman.
But while he thinks things over, the assailant strikes.
An insider said: “He has crossed so many people that anyone could be responsible.
“As Paul fights for his life in hospital it’s Rebecca who the police want to question first.
“But son Andrew, stepson Declan, ex-wife Lyn Scully and her family and Toadie Rebecchi also come under suspicion.
“The investigation is not going to be easy.”
The hit Channel Five soap will screen the dramatic scenes this autumn.
BAD boy Paul Robinson will finally get his come-uppance in one of the soap's biggest whodunnit plots.
I'm looking forward to this.
Neighbours' executive producer Susan Bower has admitted that she would have preferred the soap's 6,000th episode to have featured a more shocking attack on Paul Robinson.
The show's milestone instalment - which airs in the UK on October 15 - sees the Ramsay Street villain pushed from the mezzanine level of Lassiters, sparking a whodunit mystery.
However, in an interview with ATV News Network, Bower confessed that she would have liked the drama's special edition to have seen someone shoot Paul (Stefan Dennis) instead.
Discussing how the 'Who pushed P.R?' storyline was created, Bower explained: "We have four forward planning meetings a year, where all we do for an entire Saturday is plot major story arcs, and we knew that the 6,000th had to be incredibly important and sensational.
"We wanted to pay homage to the first episode, so anything we did would involve Stefan Dennis, the only remaining member of the cast from the day one. Of course, we would have loved to have done 'Who shot P.R?', but of course we can't do that with our G classification."
Reports suggest that Neighbours will be able to air PG content after it moves to digital channel Eleven in Australia next year.
Speaking of the possibility, Bower added: "To be honest it has not been confirmed how the classifications will be affected. However, we have been pushing the boundaries this year, and how far do we take that if in fact we do? Do we want to keep what is essentially Neighbours? Yes. Do we want to make it a bit more contemporary without alienating half our audience? That's what we are aiming for."
A quick chat with 'Neighbours' Dr Karl - DS Interview
The 6,000th episode of Neighbours is now only a couple of days away, and fans have been busy watching the build-up to the soap's milestone edition. As we all know by now, Friday's episode sees Ramsay Street's resident villain Paul Robinson pushed from the mezzanine level of Lassiters, sparking a new whodunit storyline for the show. As Paul's life hangs in the balance, among the first on the scene to help him are Karl Kennedy and Toadie Rebecchi, who have been trying to put their recent differences behind them elsewhere in the complex. Fan favourite Alan Fletcher - who plays Karl - recently caught up with DS for a quick chat about this week's episodes and more.
Neighbours' UK fans will soon see Episode 6,000 air - was it exciting to be involved in this important milestone for the show?
"I've been lucky enough to be part of many milestones in Neighbours history from the 3,000th episode onward. However, the 6,000th episode was truly special, as it took the show into the record books as the longest-running Australian drama of all time."
One storyline this week sees Karl trying to clear the air with Toadie and attempting to end the Ramsay Street war. Do you think this is the right thing to do?
"For Karl, family is everything and Toadie is family. I like this aspect of his character as it's a key element to all Neighbours stories."
The big storyline of this week is the attack on Paul. Did you ever wonder whether a member of the Kennedy family could be responsible for Paul's fate?
"I never even considered the possibility that a Kennedy could have pushed Paul, although there have been plenty of times in the history of their relationship that Karl might have wanted to!"
You've always been one of the cast members who has a lot of time for the UK fans. How important do you think the British fanbase is to Neighbours?
"The UK fanbase is the key to Neighbours' longevity. The show has a broad appeal across all ages, and one of the most enjoyable aspects of my job is having the opportunity to interact with the show's fans."
There's a change on the way for Neighbours in Australia next year as it moves from Channel Ten to digital channel Eleven. What are your thoughts on this?
"I think the move from Ten to the new digital station Eleven will have a very positive effect on the show. Digital television has completely changed the viewing habits of the Australian audience and Neighbours can only benefit from being shown on a more youth-orientated channel."
Finally, if you could come up with a dream storyline for Karl and the Kennedys, what would it be?
"My dream storyline for the Kennedys would be quite simple - Billy, Mal, baby Holly, Katya and Rachel all return to Ramsay Street to celebrate Karl and Susan's fourth wedding - to each other!"
Neighbours airs at 1.45pm and 5.30pm each weekday on Five. Episode 6,000 is screened on Friday.
Neighbours star Alan Fletcher has claimed that the Kennedys were not on his list of suspects when he pondered the soap's 'Who pushed P.R?' mystery.
British fans of the show will see the whodunit plot begin later this week when Ramsay Street villain Paul Robinson is pushed from the mezzanine level of Lassiters in the 6,000th episode.
As revealed by Paul's portrayer Stefan Dennis earlier this week, most of the programme's cast were unaware of who the culprit was during filming of the shock storyline.
However, Fletcher - who plays Kennedy patriarch Karl - told Digital Spy that he never doubted his screen family during the period of uncertainty on set.
The actor explained: "I never even considered the possibility that a Kennedy could have pushed Paul, although there have been plenty of times in the history of their relationship that Karl might have wanted to!"
Meanwhile, Fletcher also reflected on how proud he was to see the long-running programme reach its 6,000th episode.
He said: "I've been lucky enough to be part of many milestones in Neighbours history from the 3,000th episode onward. However, the 6,000th episode was truly special, as it took the show into the record books as the longest-running Australian drama of all time."
Neighbours star Jordan Smith has claimed that his character Andrew Robinson would never want to hurt dad Paul.
Later this week, viewers in the UK will see a whodunit mystery begin when Paul (Stefan Dennis) is pushed from the mezzanine level of Lassiters - just as tempers on Ramsay Street are reaching boiling point due to his lies and manipulation.
As Paul fights for his life in the aftermath of the shock attack, Andrew becomes one of the many suspects when a police investigation is launched.
However, speaking to Inside Soap, Smith commented: "You have to remember that Andrew loves Paul, and all he's ever wanted is his approval.
"I don't think Andrew has it in him to harm his dad. If anything, he's determined to get revenge against the person who did do it."
Discussing why Andrew falls under suspicion, the actor explained: "Paul had a big fight with Andrew before the accident. Andrew even told Summer Hoyland that he wanted Paul dead - you can't get much more incriminating than that!"
Paul's dramatic fall will be screened in Neighbours' 6,000th episode on Friday.
