2876: Des proposes to Jacqui

Zak wants to set things right with Michaela, and admits his anger at Tariq was really anger at his brother for going to Afghanistan and getting himself killed. Michaela takes pity on Zak, but is it enough for her to forgive him?
Des feels put out that Jacqui hasn't given him an answer on his proposal. Suspicious that Zak has told Jacqui of all his hateful ideals, Des confronts Zak and finds out he's been betrayed - Jacqui knows everything.
Meanwhile, Sasha is suspicious of Val. She doesn't want Lauren to get hurt when Valerie makes an announcement - she's taking Lauren to live with her in Spain.

2878: Bart is taken in by the McQueens

Myra reads in the newspaper obituaries that her cousin Vic's wife has died and insists that the McQueens should all attend the funeral.
While there, Theresa spies a handsome but withdrawn young lad who turns out to be Bart, Victor's son. With the McQueens bowled over by his angelic charm, they offer to take him in.
Meanwhile, Des tries to test the water with Jacqui and find out whether she's afraid to marry him. When he finds Jacqui, Des feigns a heartfelt apology for his past actions. Will Jacqui fall for it?
At the hospital awaiting chemotherapy, Steph spies a young lad filming her. She's saddened to learn he's been filming in hospital for some time, holding on to the footage of the friends he's lost. He gives her a veteran's take on cancer and it's a relief for Steph to talk to someone who knows what she's going through. It seems she's found a new friend in Louis.
Elsewhere, Cheryl might be rich, but she's not rich enough. The Loft is for sale and she needs a loan. Can Kris with his newfound career as a banker help?

Jacqui is furious with Des, but he begs her to hear him out. He explains his racism stems from a similar tragedy to Zak's - his parents were killed in a road accident, and in his grief he focused his blame on the driver's nationality.
Later, Zak's cornered by Rose, who wants to brand him a traitor.
Meanwhile, Zak threatens to go to the police over the situation - saying that he doesn't care if he's implicated too and he's prepared to take his punishment.
