Nicola and Jimmy King officially take over as The Woolpack's new landlords in tonight's episode of Emmerdale.

Departing boss Diane Sugden announces the changeover to the pub's regulars this evening as she prepares to leave the village for a new life in France with fiancé Charlie.

After Diane gives a poignant speech reflecting on her time in Emmerdale, Nicola and Jimmy eagerly step into her shoes, marking a new era for the boozer.

As Nicola revels in her new position, how will the villagers react?

As much as I would like to see them as landlords, Nicola will be having an empty pub soon with her 'customer friendly' attitude lol

Emmerdale star Nicola Wheeler has teased her character's new role as The Woolpack's landlady.

Nicola and husband Jimmy King (Nick Miles) take over the pub as Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) sells up ahead of her move to France.

In an interview on the ITV soap's official website, Wheeler teased: "The problem with being a landlady is that you need really good people skills and that is something Nicola lacks so she's sort of looking at the wrong game.

"For her it's having a family home, both her and Jimmy together, they're working and as far as she sees it, a pub is easy enough so she'd be in the bar, Jimmy would be in the back with Angel and then they would swap over."

She added: "So, even though she has worked in a pub and she has managed a bar, she has not really thought through what being a landlady really entails."

Estensen has her own doubts about how the new landlords will cope as they take the reigns.

"It could be catastrophic. It might be brilliant," she said.
