EMMERDALE stunner Sammy Winward is single again after splitting up with her co-star James Sutton.
The pair started secretly dating after their characters, Katie Sugden and Ryan Lamb got together on the soap late last year.
However, art has now imitated life - for their own relationship has ended just months after their on-screen romance turned sour.
Blonde Sammy, 24, and James, 27, have told pals they will remain firm friends.
An insider told TV Biz: "Sammy and James seemed perfect for each other.
"Everyone thought they would go the distance and some people still think they could get back together.
"They are a strikingly gorgeous couple and the chemistry you saw on screen was there in real life, too.
"It's a shame they've split up but they're both being very professional.
"James has a very big storyline coming up and is focusing on that."
