I don't think they leave until the end of the year.

I'm glad Carol finally seems to have a storyline of her own! It's about time.

On another thread we think it's Libby and Chelsea, who are both known to be leaving the soap. Silly time for them to leave, though.

Pat and Peggy try to sabotage Roxy's sale
Airs on Monday, August 2 2010 20:00 BST on BBC One

Pat attempts to tear down the 'For Sale' sign from The Vic for Peggy as a crowd begins to gather. Zainab questions whether the pub's back in business but Peggy insists that it was never out of it. Dialling the number on the sign, Peggy pretends to be Roxy and asks the estate agent to take The Vic off the market. She's left red-faced, though, when he replies that Roxy's stood with him in his office. Later, Phil arranges another visit to see Ben, before assuring Louise that Peggy will look after her for the day. Dropping his daughter off at The Vic, Phil assures Peggy that he's spoken to Roxy and she's decided against selling the pub. However, when Roxy arrives, she explains to Peggy that she's changed her mind - she is selling up after all.

Peggy's livid and explains to Roxy that she wants the pub to be Ben's one day but Roxy reveals that potential buyers are looking around in a few hours. Peggy's downbeat but Louise suggests that they make the pub look a mess in a bid to put any buyer off. Quickly coming around to the idea, it's not long before Pat, Peggy and Louise are throwing crisps around and pouring drinks across the bar. While Roxy organises the buyers' visit and orders another 'For Sale' sign, Pat ponders arranging for some drug dealers and teens with ASBOs to complete the pub's 'new look'.

Later, Max wanders in but when Pat and Peggy turn him away, he steps out to call Vanessa…

At Patrick's house, the atmosphere is tense after Libby tells Chelsea that she is going to Owen's funeral. They start to square up to each other after Libby accuses Chelsea of not caring about Owen. After Patrick intervenes, Chelsea storms out. Later, Patrick offers to attend the funeral, but Liz says she wants it to just be her and Libby, causing him to feel rejected again.

At the community centre, Jordan asks Patrick if Lucas was really his dad because he can't believe the things he did and feels unable to forgive him. He asks where he should go now that he is no longer part of the family with Lucas gone. Patrick reminds him that neither is he related to the others, but family means more than that. Patrick comforts and hugs him, saying he will be there for him.

Elsewhere, Darren receives a letter about his circumcision; Whitney asks Bianca if she's going out on Friday and Billie's returning for the weekend; Max continues to taunt Darren by making a cucumber sandwich; Whitney's embarrassed to witness Bianca wiping a customer's table in a seductive way; Darren insists to Max that he's going ahead with the procedure to make Jodie happy; and Bianca confides in Whitney that she and Ricky haven't had sex in three months.

Phil hits Peggy across the face
Airs on Tuesday, August 3 2010 19:30 BST on BBC One

Louise has gone missing and while Pat and Peggy desperately try to find her, a furious Phil returns to the commotion. Phil loses his temper at his mother and warns that if anything's happened to her, he'll hold her responsible. Pat suggests that they call the police but Phil menacingly warns her not to. Peggy, however, suggests that they call them anyway. While driving around, Phil eventually locates Louise walking out of a florists with a bunch of flowers. Dragging her into the car, he speeds off back to the Square. Phil's puzzled when Louise explains that she wanted to see her mum Lisa as Peggy mentioned that Lisa wanted to see her. Returning to The Vic, Phil's angry to see Peggy and Pat discussing Louise's disappearance with the police.

Later, Phil accuses Peggy of trying to ruin his relationship with Louise by talking about Lisa but Peggy's firm - Louise deserves to know the truth. When Louise asks if she can see her mother, she's scared by his angry reaction. Wandering over to the drinks cabinet, Phil glares at a bottle of scotch, clearly tempted to drink it. Peggy walks in and slates her son, stating that sometimes, he's not fit to be a father. With that, Phil violently hits his mother across the face…

At Patrick's house, Libby tries to convince Chelsea not to leave because their mum needs them. Feeling guilty, Chelsea tells Libby to put Lucas's belongings out with the rubbish and explains that, as she wants to look after their mum too, she has no choice but to stay. However, when Chelsea later turns up to the salon for work, she finds that all of her appointments have been cancelled and deduces that this is because she is Lucas's daughter. She returns home and tells Libby she can't stay anymore, leaving Libby feeling angry and abandoned. After being released from hospital early, Denise has a heart-to-heart with Libby. Chelsea's revelation that she is leaving for Spain the next day then leaves Denise stunned.

Meanwhile, Abi walks in on Max and Vanessa together. Vanessa apologises, but it's clear that Abi's unhappy with her father for not telling her the truth. Carol insists that Max shouldn't bring 'cheap tarts' back to the house and remains frosty with Vanessa. Attempting to bond with Abi, Vanessa offers advice on her boy trouble. Later, Vanessa and Max discuss a potential relationship but she's adamant that they'd get bored of each other soon enough. Wandering downstairs, Vanessa shouts to Max that his wife's sitting in the living room. Rushing downstairs, Max is shocked to find Tanya's sister Rainie. She's shocked to hear that Tanya's left Max but claims that she's now clean of drugs. Max, however, refuses to believe her.

Abi asks if Rainie can stay for the night, while Max calls Tanya - she needs to return to the Square as her sister's turned up on his doorstep in a state.

Elsewhere, Abi and Jordan split but agree to remain friends; Carol breaks the news to Whitney that Billie was refused his leave on Friday; Mo hears that The Vic could be turned into a gay bar if it's sold; Carol, Whitney and Bianca storm to the army recruitment office demanding to know why Billie was refused leave; Carol and Whitney are upset to learn that Billie actually took his leave and has gone away with friends for the weekend instead of returning home; Mo blames Syed for The Vic potentially being turned into a gay bar; and although Carol's unhappy with recruitment officer Lewis Daley's flirting, she's flattered when he hands over his business card.

Peggy takes Louise to see Lisa
Airs on Thursday, August 5 2010 19:30 BST on BBC One

Pat's reeling to learn that Phil gave Peggy her black eye. Later, Shirley questions Peggy about her bruise but she remains evasive. Stealing Shirley's keys, Peggy sneaks over to the house and creeps inside in search of Louise. Eventually finding her, Peggy persuades her granddaughter to head out so she can see her mum, Lisa. With Pat by her side, Peggy takes Louise to see Lisa who's delighted to see her daughter again. Lisa's evidently grateful for Lisa's gesture but before they head into the house, Peggy slaps Lisa.

Inside, Lisa reveals the reason why she left Louise in Walford in the first place - she was having a breakdown and thought her daughter would be better off with Phil. Peggy admits to Lisa that she needs to do what's best for Louise - and that's to allow her to live with her mother.

Meanwhile, Phil begins to panic that Social Services won't allow him access to any of his children. Bolting the doors and cutting the phone cord, Phil heads into his living room to find Leon and Fatboy there surrounded by bottles of alcohol. Learning that Peggy's taken Louise, Phil rushes across the Square and confronts Shirley, before throwing her and Zsa Zsa out of the house.

At the Brannings' house, Denise shouts at Liz for persuading Chelsea to go to Spain. Later, Denise gets home to find Libby packing up her books and saying that she will take a year out of uni to help Patrick in the mini-mart. Libby expects Denise to talk her out of it but Denise is happy that Libby has made her mind up. At Chelsea's leaving drinks in The Vic, Denise tries to stay strong and Patrick encourages music and a happy atmosphere.

Libby gets upset when Fatboy mentions Owen and leaves the pub. However, Denise reassures her, telling her daughter to return to uni next term and promising her she'll visit. Libby returns to the pub and Denise enters with packed bags for Chelsea and Libby, saying Libby should go to Spain for a holiday. As Denise, Patrick and Zainab bid farewell to Libby, Chelsea and Liz, Denise tries to put on a brave face but it is clear that she is broken hearted.

Elsewhere, Zainab continues to snub Syed; Abi's delighted to have her Auntie Rainie around; Carol and Rainie argue; Max suggests that Carol should find someone else to take her mind off Billie; Max calls Tanya and lies that Rainie's back on the alcohol; Max takes Rainie to The Vic and plies her with wine ahead of Tanya's arrival; and Rainie realises that Tanya hates her.

A drunken Phil rages at the pub
Airs on Friday, August 6 2010 20:00 BST on BBC One

As Peggy returns, Phil frantically asks where Louise is. He threatens her, but she remains firm and defiantly tells him that Louise is with her mum. An anxious Phil questions Peggy about where Lisa is, but she lies and says she doesn't know. She then explains that she knew Phil was capable of anything after being hit by him and did not want Louise to be in danger by staying with him. When Derek the social worker comes round, Phil steals Derek's bag and finds Lisa's address from Derek's file on Louise. He drives to the house where Lisa was staying and breaks the door down, but the place is deserted. As police cars arrive and Phil is arrested, he realises he may have lost Louise for good.

When Phil finally returns home following the arrest, he informs Peggy about Lisa's disappearing act before starting to drink. Later, he flies into a drunken rage in the pub, ripping down optics from the wall and blaming Peggy for the fact that both of his children are now gone. Minty and Ricky manhandle him out of the pub when he refuses to calm down. Outside, he meets Rainie, who's desperately searching though her stuff for a rock of crack. Phil picks it up and snatches it away when she tries to grab it. She says all she wants to do is escape; Phil, drunk, with nothing left to lose, agrees.

Meanwhile, Denise and Patrick attend the funeral of the murdered prostitute Gemma and are shocked when they discover that there are no other attendants. Following the funeral, Denise is lost and distant, despairing about not having known the truth about Lucas. Patrick tells Denise that Gemma died for her, so now she needs to live for Gemma. Later, at Patrick's house, Denise and Patrick find Kim bursting in and then hugging a shocked Denise. Kim says she caught Dexter having an affair and so she left him. When Denise asks her where she is going to live, Kim looks at her expectantly.

Elsewhere, Carol confronts Max with the belief that Rainie has taken money from her purse; Bianca acts suspiciously as she dresses up in a skimpy top and brand new underwear; Rainie returns to Max's house while high on drugs; Carol confronts Bianca after discovering that she's lied about her plans for the evening; and Max kicks both Rainie and Carol out of his house, prompting Carol to go to stay with Bianca.

Please don't let Kim become a permanent member of the square :( We'd be swapping one bad actress (Chelsea) with an even worse one.
