Olly Murs has revealed that his new album has been given Simon Cowell's seal of approval.

The X Factor runner-up, who is signed to Epic as well as Cowell's label Syco, said that the music mogul had a hand in selecting the final tracklist for the LP, due out later this year.

He told the Daily Star: "Simon hasn’t been in touch because he’s too busy with The X Factor, but he’s had a say on the songs and has loved all the stuff that I’ve done.

"I’m so ecstatic about my new single, it just all pieced together so well."

Murs's single 'Please Don't Let Me Go' is released on August 30.

Olly Murs has reportedly landed his own documentary.

The ITV2 show will follow last year's X Factor runner-up as he attempts to crack the charts with his debut single 'Please Don't Let Me Go', reports The Sun.

His record label Sony is believed to have spent more than £100,000 on the documentary, which is due to be shown alongside this year's series of The X Factor.

A source said: "Sony really wants Olly to be a success so they have funded a documentary about him for ITV2.

"The idea is for fans to get to know the real Olly so, hopefully, they will buy his album."

'Please Don't Let Me Go' will be released for download on August 28, with a physical release on the following day.

OLLY MURS is a man of his word.

With his single Please Don't Let Me Go a virtual shoo-in to reach No1 tomorrow he has confirmed he will honour his vow to pose nude to mark its success.

And the big-talking Essex lad let me know last night that if he had to choose a fruit to cover his modesty it would be: "Without doubt a pineapple."

Glad he didn't say satsuma.

Olly, whose song was way ahead of KATY PERRY's Teenage Dream in the midweek sales charts, added: "I'm looking forward to the naked shoot. I promised I would do it if I got to No1.

"I'm not sure if everybody's going to want to see me naked but the picture will be dedicated to the fans who bought the record."

The X Factor runner-up admits he will have to do some "tidying up" before he slips into his birthday suit.

"I'll have a wax before I do it," he said. "I'm a bit hairy on the top half so I might have to trim that down.

"I'll also need to have a little tidy up down below. It will make it look bigger."

Olly has been asking for tips about getting into shape for his big reveal.

He said: "I've been texting the JLS boys. I need to get in the gym with them and tone myself up. I'd love to have a six-pack like theirs."

Despite enjoying his charge to No1, Olly's had a tough couple of weeks after his twin Ben revealed they had fallen out and labelled him a "sell-out".

The singer was furious but said: "We are still not speaking but we're looking to sort it out. All brothers and sisters fight, hopefully we can make up.

"My mum and dad were a bit upset about it but we've just got to deal with it.

"He's my brother and I still love him very much."

Once his celebration hangover has worn off, on Monday Olly will be back to work on his second single and debut album, which is due in November.

But he wants to be a calendar boy, too. "I want to get to do one," he said. "It's still early doors so I've got a bit of time."

Hopefully he'll be wearing clothes for that one.

Olly Murs has beaten Katy Perry to the top of the UK singles chart with his debut track 'Please Don't Let Me Go'.

The 26-year-old singer surged ahead of Perry's 'Teenage Dream', the second single from her album of the same name, making him the ninth X Factor alumnus to have achieved this feat.

The song's success means that fans can now look forward to a naked spread of Murs in Heat magazine, which the star committed to last month.

OLLY Murs has stuck by his promise and posed in the buff to celebrate getting to Number One with his single Please Don't Let Me Go.

After discovering the good news, the former X Factor star said he celebrated with his mum, who put on a low-key fireworks display, but he later partied in style on a night out with club-loving pals JLS.

The boyband are veterans when it comes to getting their kit off so Olly thought he'd ask if they had any tips on how to look good - but he didn't get the response he was expecting.

He told heat magazine: "One of JLS' mates said I had to drink loads of alcohol and not eat anything, but I think they just wanted me to get drunk!"

Olly admitted getting a spray tan and using hair removal cream around his nipples before posing for the shoot.

The cheeky Essex chap is already eyeing another hit with his follow-up single - and has thought of an even better way to repay fans if it goes all the way to the chart summit again.

He said: "If the second single goes to Number One, we can get some lucky heat readers to get in bed and I'll be naked. It would be a wicked shoot."
