The blonde ex-Army girl, played by actress Catherine Tyldesley, joins the soap next month as a love interest for Ryan Lamb (James Sutton).
And if a straw poll at TV Biz is anything to go by, she'll have other Dales lads stopping in their tractors too.
Abi is not the soap's only new barn-stormer - Birds of a Feather star Pauline Quirke began filming yesterday as Jackson Walsh's mum Hazel.
Pauline told TV Biz: "My first scene was in the village - that village is unbelievable.
"My mum absolutely loved Emmerdale. So to get on set and actually see that Woolpack, it was actually really emotional - I had a little cry.
"But then I pulled myself together."

Catherine Tyldesley has teased her new role in Emmerdale.

The 25-year-old will join the ITV soap as Abi Peterson, an ex-army girl who will become involved with Ryan Lamb (James Sutton).

"Abi is ex-military and very ambitious. She certainly knows what she wants from life," she told the Manchester Evening News.

“She becomes a love interest for Ryan Lamb, played by the lovely James Sutton, who has been so welcoming."

She added: "I’ve been really enjoying working on such a great show as Emmerdale."

Tyldesley revealed that her friend had suggested a party to celebrate her first scenes which are due to air later this month.

She said: "My best friend said we should have an Emmerdale party to celebrate, and all get dressed up as cows and sheep to watch my first episode!

"But I'm not sure I’ll take him up on that."

EMMERDALE hunk James Sutton and co-star Catherine Tyldesley have ended their romance.

The pair were photographed kissing during a break in filming on the soap last month despite always insisting they were just good friends

But yesterday it was claimed Catherine, 27, and James, also 27, are no longer an item.

It comes just months after he split from co-star Sammy Winward.

And in another twist, Catherine has found new romance with ex-Blue singer Antony Costa, 28.

Catherine and James got together when she played sexy prison officer Abi Peterson to his jailbird character Ryan Lamb.

But a close friend of Catherine said: It looks to be short-lived. She thought James was too immature for her. She told us that Antony was far more mature and treated her like a princess. The pal added: James is also still hung up on Sammy.

James and Sammy, 25, got together during an on-screen romance too she plays Katie Sugden and were together for a year.

They broke up in the summer and James has since told bosses of the ITV soap he may now leave.

In the past he has said: I'm not very good at the dating scene.
