I've installed MSN Messenger 7.0 and now it wont work!!
Just get a message say its encountered a problem and has to close.
I've uninstalled it and installed it again
I've checked the settings on firewall
Any other ideas??
I have the same problem
it tells me i dont have internet explorer (and i do) and that i dont have 98,ME or XP (and i do)
It wont even let me open my hotmail now.
Mine doesnt say that, but it doesnt work!!! and doesnt say why, i'm using windows messenger now.
It all worked fine until i downloaded version 7.0
Can't you just stick with version 6 then Jude? :)
I've tried dowloading a later version but it still wont work

Is MSN 7.0 still a beta version? If it is then Microsoft will still be tweaking it and the final version will be out soon.

Uh no you can only download version 7.0
I hate the way 6 works but then they make you get rid of it. I wanted to keep 6 too. I only use it for chatting to people so I don't need any "extras".

hIya i had the same problem it sed, you need interenet explore 6 or high. so i could use new msn. but i went to download.com and downloaded internet explorer 6 pack one.
And now msn 7 works fine

Arrghh, my msn not been working for about a week now, it just says. "sorry, we are unable to sign you into messenger at this time, please try again later" I've clicked on help and made sure that every things set ok. Even interenet explorer settings are fine....i can't think whats wrong!!!
Maybe it's your firewall?

well I dont know what version of IE i've got cause i'm not at home!! Click on 'Help' at the top and then on 'About Internet Explorer'

i have msn 7 and when i try to type to people it says "the following message can not be delivered to all recipients" so it wont let me write to them
this happened to anyone?

Yeah mine too i tried the windows update thing but it didn't work.
There was an option on the website to download 5.0 but when you try to sign into that it tells you it's too old and you need to update... :angry:
I give up im transfering to Yahoo.............
Well trying to download version 6.2, from microsoft.com will let you know how i get on!
Nope doesnt work, it makes you download version 7.0 after!!

Debs, just told me she had to get a new e-mail address to get v7 to work
Funny that....it's like it's blocking all msn sites but i've checked the firewall and everything and they seem ok

I'VE GOT WINDOWS MESSENGER WORKING!!!! yay!!! I had to download this weird thing but it now works!! yay!!
well the new e-mail address thing didnt work
Not sure if its got anything to do with the anti-spy wear my boyf made me download??

I'm wondering if it's because i have firefox that it's not recognising my IE

Well i've got it working i finally got to download IE6 service pack one that let me download v7 msn but it wont let me sign in with my old address only the new one i just set up. I think it could have been the firefox blocking it
Just use "Windows Messenger" :)

Oh who cares about extras?
It keeps bombing me out after about 10mins as well, not very good for the computer when I start smashing it up!!

MSN is always co operative with me. Always works no problems whatsoever. We were meant to be :P
Me too, the only time I have any problems is when the whole network is down.

Nope its still not and my computers started going at snails pace, really dont know what the matter is!!
Just stick to Windows Messenger, it must be booting you off for a reason. Try sending an e-mail to their "customer support" :)

mine went wrong so i had to delete it and re download it again
it is reallly annoying because i have done that about 3 times now!!

My MSN works - but I can't view my contacts message history, the page appears to be blank. And when I try to download an earlier version it makes me install the more up to date one. Which is daft because they're still available to download. :wall:
It saves all my convos. I have to delete them. Even with the option turned off it still does it.

Mine wasn't working this morning but I think it was a network problem.
Well I need help. My hotmail and messenger was working fine till I got broadband. Now I can sign in on hotmail. I cant acces windows messenger or MSn it just says there is a problem with the internet connection try again later. I dont know what to do. And something is wrong with my virus prtection as it says it has a problem. I dont know what to do.

have you tried setting up a new hotmail account and then downloading msn7?
I've tried that. When i try making a new account it wont let me and comes up with an error page. Also I have tried re downloading messenger and no joy. i also cant use the web one. I cant submit a help thing as well to MSN as the error page comes up!

Got me stumped.
The first time i had trouble with it i got Firefox and that sorted it but the next time i had to take firefox off and then create a whole new account. I've had that for a while now but it still wont let me into my old one.
Mine's working fine :)
so is mine but is wasnt a while ago so i restored my computer
