View Full Version : Wedding plot for Neighbours milestone
Neighbours couple Donna Freedman and Ringo Brown are to tie the knot in the soap's 6,000th episode, it has been revealed.
Margot Robbie and Sam Clark, who play the Ramsay Street lovers, have been filming the screen nuptials this week ahead of the storyline airing later this year.
Speaking to the Herald Sun about the plot, Robbie commented: "It's been fun, but it hasn't given me a taste for getting married - especially if my wedding day goes on for this long! We've been filming the episode all week so I've been in the dress all week. Wedding dresses are not exactly comfortable and it's been freezing.
"Of course there's a lot of drama leading up to the wedding. We're from Ramsay Street - things are always ten times more difficult."
The 19-year-old added that she could be under pressure if the storyline is compared to Charlene and Scott Robinson's (Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan) iconic 1987 wedding.
She said: "I've never seen that episode. I have no idea what I am competing with. But it's Kylie Minogue, so I have big shoes to fill."
Neighbours' 6,000th episode will be the highlight of the soap's 25th anniversary celebrations.

According to Wiki, the 6000th episode will be aired in October 2010. We're currently 5 weeks behind, so if that stays the same, we'll see the episode November or early December.

Thanks for that. :)
If one of them leaves it will be a short marriage though. Unless they both leave together?

I say both will leave - He has a music career and she wants to break America
I thought he was just taking a break or has taken a break for his music career but is back for good as Ringo. I like him and Donna, sad to see them go if they both do.

He took a break to promote his music in Aus, but is taking another break to promote in UK for at least 6 months, and may not return. Donna seems on and off with leaving / staying. Last I heard she's staying.
I hope they both leave together and don't split up or that one of them dies

Aww I love donna, Im quite happy :)
Neighbours star Alan Fletcher has promised that the soap's latest wedding will be a "joyous" occasion.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Ringo Brown (Sam Clark) and Donna Freedman (Margot Robbie) are to tie the knot in the show's 6,000th episode after two years as on-off lovers.
Speaking to Holy Soap, Fletcher confirmed that his character Karl Kennedy will attend the couple's big day and be involved "in a surprising manner - certainly in a way he wasn't expecting".
He explained: "The good thing about weddings on Ramsay Street is nothing goes according to plan and this one's no different. But the really nice thing about weddings is that ultimately they are some of the most joyous experiences on the programme."
Fletcher added that episode 6,000 will also feature an event that is "not so joyous" for one character, as he previously teased on Live From Studio Five this week.
He said: "If you haven't been watching Neighbours for a while, you need to start tuning in now to prepare yourself for the 6,000th episode, when things really hot up."
NEIGHBOURS' blonde bombshell Donna Freedman puts her father’s feelings aside and pops the question to Ringo Brown.
The pretty blonde (Margot Robbie, 20) gets down on one knee in front of their family and friends.
And Ringo (Sam Clark, 22) says yes.
The lovebirds had put their romance on hold because Donna’s father did not think Ringo was good enough.
Catch Neighbours on Channel 5 at 5.30pm.

The Neighbours team have been keeping their cards very close to their chests when discussing the soap's forthcoming 6,000th episode in recent months - but, as you may have already seen, that's all changed today.
Following weeks of vague hints about how a terrible event is to befall Paul Robinson, it's now been confirmed that the Ramsay Street businessman's life will be left hanging in the balance when he's pushed from the mezzanine level of Lassiters in mysterious circumstances.
However, on a more pleasant note, a new picture been released from Ringo and Donna's wedding - which is another event taking place in the 6,000th episode, as reported back in June.
They certainly look very happy in this pic, but according to the info released by Five, the couple can expect to face some obstacles on the day as some family secrets emerge. What could they be?
Neighbours' 6,000th episode airs on October 15 in the UK.
aww they look so happy :)

A Neighbours cast member has revealed that fans can expect dramatic storylines on its upcoming 6,000th episode.
Alan Fletcher, who plays long-running character Dr Karl Kennedy, said that there is lots of "human drama" coming up with attempted murder, a wedding, an old character's return and the show's first gay male character.
Fletcher told AAP: "The clever thing about the storyline at the moment is that the 6,000th episode is not just about one story. It's actually about three stories all coming together at the same time.
"It's like the street is in upheaval in many areas. Paul Robinson has a very big story which culminates around that time and then continues on after it, Libby Kennedy has a massive story and the way Toadie Rebecchi is affected by that is really interesting too. It's really good human drama."
Donna Freedman is devastated when Ringo Brown demands they wed in a shed.
But the blonde, below, plays along as she’s delighted the hunk still wants to marry her despite everything they have been through.
But with her big day fast approaching she starts to have second thoughts.
An insider said: “Ringo knows Donna will do anything he wants. She’s just so happy they’re back together and getting married after all these years.
“But what she doesn’t realise is that Ringo knows the huge power he has over his bride-to-be and is simply trying his luck with their wedding plans.
“The last thing he really wants is to get married in a shed but things have gone so far that he can’t see a way out of it all.
“Donna fears that if she says anything it could scupper their future, so she keeps her feelings quiet too.
“It’s going to be a very interesting time for them both as they prepare to walk up the aisle.”
You can watch the Donna and Ringo wedding storyline as it unfolds on Channel Five later in the autumn.
lol I can see this happeneding alreayd should be fun to watch
Margot Robbie has revealed that she is "flattered" to be involved in the 25th anniversary special of Neighbours.
The 20-year-old Australian actress, whose character Donna Freedman will marry Sam Clark's Ringo Brown during the 6,000th episode, said that people comparing them as a screen pair to 1987 power couple Scott and Charlene is "a big deal".
Robbie told AAP: "People are saying that my wedding is this generation's Kylie [Minogue] and Jason [Donovan] wedding - that's big shoes to fill.
"But I'm quite honoured to get to be a part of it, this is a big milestone. I'm very flattered. It is a big deal. It's a big climax of a lot of storylines, they all come together and kind of blow up in everyone's faces."
Robbie also said that she finds it "remarkable" that the show has been running for so many years.
NEIGHBOURS bride to-be Donna Freedman is just days from her wedding when she finds out her future in-laws are to be divorced.
And to make matters worse for the troubled blonde, they swear her to secrecy. So with her nuptials to long-term lover
Ringo Brown looming she has to decide whether she can keep such a huge secret from her husband-to-be.
But with his parents adamant he must not find out until after the wedding she risks tearing the family apart even beforeshe’s become a part of it.
]An insider said: “When Donna catches Ringo’s parents arguing and asks what’s going on nothing could have prepared her for their shocking revelation.
“She knows she shouldn’t be keeping secrets from Ringo and it’s going to take some doing for her to say her wedding vows knowing what she knows.”
The story unfolds on Channel Five this autumn.
