CORRIE'S Deirdre Barlow is to embark on a passionate affair with gigolo Lewis Archer - only to be caught on CCTV.
Lewis - played by Don't Wait Up actor Nigel Havers makes a play for Deirdre at her stepson Peter's betting shop.
She can't resist and they enjoy a steamy snog.
But her husband Ken's son Peter (Chris Gascoyne) sees the CCTV footage - and shows his dad.
The Barlow marriage had seemed back on track after Ken (William Roache) dumped barge-dwelling actress Martha Fraser (Stephanie Beacham).
He is furious with Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) calling her "pathetic".
And Lewis's crimper lover Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) is also devastated.
An insider told TV Biz: "Ken is disgusted. He can't believe his eyes and erupts into absolute fury.
"But Audrey is just as heartbroken. She had planned a whole future with Lewis."

Can 'Coronation Street's Deirdre and Ken Barlow ever stop cheating on each other? It doesn't look like they are ready to resist temptation just yet, as the couple are set to fall out once more when Deirdre is caught kissing another man.
Following husband Ken’s umpteenth affair last year, Deirdre will reportedly fall for the charms of escort Lewis Archer (played by Nigel Havers) after he makes a play for her at Peter's betting shop.
As the pair share a passionate kiss outside, little do they realise that they are being filmed by a CCTV camera – and that Deirdre's stepson Peter will see the footage, reports The Sun.

It depends on the person.. As Alan said, his wife would think a kiss is an affair.. for me I think if the kiss was followed on by more kisses (whether my partner sleeps with the person or not) then I would say an affair.. if you are thinking about that person all the time and want to kiss them more, that is an affair to me..

I've worn glasses since I was three and I've never had the men chasing me like they do Derdrie. Maybe it the patch over one lense that scared them off though. :lol:
Tempers between Audrey and Derdrie are at boiling point just now with what Tracey is saying in court about Gail. There could be a good old cat fight on the cobbles before too long.

If it was 1 kiss that was regretted, I wouldn't say it was an affair. It could be the start of an affair though.
I know that usually an affair is probably related to several meetings and couples having intercourse, but I believe that a passionate kiss could be regarded as having been unfaithful and could be regarded as close to a one night stand and definitely the start of an affair.

Lewis (Nigel Havers) convinces Ken's wife (Anne Kirkbride) to fetch a bottle of wine after weeks of flirting.
While she's gone, he puts fake betting slips in the till.
When she returns and wants to know why the shop door is locked he kisses Deirdre on the lips to distract her.

Coronation Street star Nigel Havers has revealed that fans of the soap send him racy letters and items of underwear.
The 60-year-old admitted that he is stunned by the attention he has received since he took on the role of charmer Lewis Archer last year.
Speaking to The Mirror, Havers explained: "I have been getting sackfuls of fan mail - and some of it is very bizarre. I've had lots of women saying they want me to take them out for dinner and then do, well, I don't know what!
"I've had lots of racy underwear sent to me, which I've had to hide from my missus, and I've received some explicit drawings.
"There was one of me and this woman together in bed. Can you imagine what was going through her mind when she drew that? I haven't had that sort of mail for a long time - 20 years ago, in fact. It is extraordinary."
Nigel Havers has admitted that his wife does not like him filming kissing scenes.
The actor, currently appearing as male escort Lewis Archer in Coronation Street, told the Mirror about his wife's feelings towards his alter ego's relationship with Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).
"She doesn't like me doing the kissing scenes in Corrie," he confessed.
"Last year I was in America doing Brothers and Sisters and I had a lot of bed scenes with Sally Field. Georgiana wasn't happy and I said, 'Darling, this is what I do for a living'."
He added: "Now I hide the scripts!"
Havers married third wife Bronfman in 2007.
Ha ha, I'm not surprised Nigel Havers is getting so much attention, even if some of it is downright bizarre. He plays handsome charmer Lewis to perfection.

Bill Roache has revealed that he expects Ken and Deirdre to stay together forever.
The Coronation Street actor thinks that the couple can survive their latest drama as Deirdre's (Anne Kirkbride) kiss with Lewis (Nigel Havers) is discovered.
"Ken and Deirdre are soulmates, obviously," STV quotes Roache as saying.
"They've both been around the block a few times. I think they shouldn't inflict themselves on anyone else," he said. "I can see them living their lives out together - but there will always be problems along the way for those two."
On Deirdre's kiss with Lewis, he added: "It's nothing serious. It's more of a humiliation for everyone concerned."
He continued: "They are still together in a manner of speaking, and it's just like a family tiff really. So they will be able to get through it."
DEIRDRE Barlow ends up with cake on her face after an explosive brawl with Gail McIntyre on Coronation Street tonight.
Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) is exposed for smooching crooked Lewis (Nigel Havers).
And furious Gail (Helen Worth) lets rip at her rival by flinging a cream cake at her - and nearly throttling her in the process.
