Phil is furious when he returns home to find Derek there
Social worker Derek Evans turns up in the Square in search of Phil. When Shirley agrees to pass the message on, she slams the door in his face. There's another knock at the door and expecting Derek to be on the other side, she frustratingly opens it again to find Phil standing in front of her. Seething that Phil left her to clear up his mess, she goes on to reveal that Social Services are wanting to talk to him. With Heather's help, Phil and Shirley manage to arrange lunch with Ben. During the meal, Ben's distant. Phil suggests that after the trial, Ben can move back home. Ben, however, isn't interested and asks to be taken to the police station.
With Ben and Phil at the station, there's a knock at the door and Shirley attempts to prevent Ian from answering it. Refusing to listen, Ian greets Derek the social worker and invites him inside to await Phil's return. Phil's not happy to find Derek there but with that, Derek explains that he's been asked to survey their family setup further. Panicked that he could lose both Ben and Louise, Phil turns to Ian for help but Ian intimates that there's only one person to blame for the situation.

After a test drive in the car she's just bought, Vanessa asks Max where they go from here. Smiling, Max walks off.

Jordan ponders changing his statement
Airs on Tuesday, June 8 2010 19:30 BST on BBC One
Phil makes a coffee and pours in some whisky
Shirley's furious that Phil stinks of alcohol when he's due to attend court with Ben. Mitchell family solicitor Ritchie arrives to find Phil drinking straight Scotch and breaks the news to him that Ben may have to attend Crown Court for his attack on Jordan. Going through the fine details, Ritche suggests that if Jordan was to admit that he provoked Ben, it would help massively with the defence case. As they're unable to go anywhere near Jordan, Phil resolutely pours his drink down the sink and suggests to Shirley that they have a word with Lucas and Denise. Shirley pays Denise a visit and when Jordan answers, she attempts to persuade him to tell the truth. Their conversation is cut short, though, when Denise slams the door in her face. Phil, meanwhile, threatens Lucas. Later, Phil learns that Shirley spoke to Jordan - which could result in him losing his children.
DC Walker turns up at Patrick's house to check on Jordan. Learning that Ben could spend up to four years in a detention centre and that his statement will be played in court, Jordan begins to worry. Taking the youngster to the café, Denise questions him about his concern. She's surprised, though, when Jordan confesses that he doesn't want to let his father down. With that, Jordan goes on to admit that he called Ben a girl and threatened that something bad would happen if he wasn't left alone. Later, Denise talks to Lucas about the case and reveals that Jordan provoked Ben but Lucas insists that Ben is evil - and that Jordan's statement isn't changing, before storming out.
While Denise leaves a voicemail on Lucas's mobile, Lucas is seen parked in a desolate car park. There, a prostitute called Jade approaches the car asking if Lucas wants some fun - and Lucas agrees…
Meanwhile, Heather interrupts Darren at the Car Lot as he listens to a message from Jodie. Later, Darren suggests that he and Max should double-date mother-daughter duo Vanessa and Jodie. Max, however, insists that he's only friends with Vanessa. In a bid to impress Jodie, Darren lies that he owns the Car Lot and Max happily plays along. During their date in The Vic, Heather interrupts Darren and asks him to look after George for an hour the next day. Darren hesitantly agrees, while Jodie thinks that George is a dog, prompting Darren to admit that he's his son. Much to Darren's relief, Jodie's happy about the situation. On their way back to the Car Lot, Jodie reveals that she still lives with her parents. Opening the door, Darren spots Max and Vanessa in flagrante on the floor of the office. He quickly averts Jodie's attention, hoping she doesn't see.
Elsewhere, Denise grabs her red basque and holds it up to herself while looking at Lucas but she's interrupted by a knock at the door; and Billie's forced to take Carol on his date with Whitney as he enjoys his final few hours before officially joining the army.

Lucas pushes Jade to the ground and tells her to pray
In Lucas's car, Jade the prostitute puts her hand on Lucas's knee but all of a sudden, he starts the car and races off with her still inside. Rolling onto some wasteland, Lucas forces Jade to the ground and demands that she pray. Jade's attempt to escape is thwarted when Lucas gives chase and with that, he knees beside her. Speaking out loud, Lucas asks God to wash Jade of her sins but when she tries to flee again, he forcefully grabs her by the arm and insists that she ask the Lord for forgiveness. As Jade closes her eyes, Lucas takes off his tie and a savage look flashes across Lucas's face - and Jade's scream echoes across the abandoned ground.
Awaiting Lucas's return, Denise and Jordan discuss the impending court case. Jordan's adamant that they should tell the truth. At court, Denise reveals to Phil and Shirley that Jordan's changed his statement. The court, however, refers Ben's case to Crown Court. Over fish and chips, Phil and Ben discuss the worst case scenario, if Ben was sentenced to time in a detention centre. Ben attempts to cover his fear but it's clear he's immensely worried about the prospect. Later, Shirley and Denise toast the day's events just as Lucas bursts in, kissing Denise in front of the locals. On learning that Jordan's changed his statement, Lucas admits that he's proud of them both for doing the right thing.
Back at the house, Denise prepares for a romantic evening and as she touches his body, he winces in pain. Checking himself in the mirror, Lucas notices deep scratch marks on his face and neck. He quickly wipes away the blood in a sheer panic.
Meanwhile, Darren desperately attempts to avert Jodie's attention from the Car Lot in the hope that she doesn't spot her mother in a passionate embrace with Max. Backtracking on his earlier claim that he owns the Car Lot, Darren concedes that it's more of a joint venture with Max. Jodie, however, insists that he doesn't have to make things up to impress her. Inside the office, Vanessa tries to entice Max back on the floor for round two! Later, Darren reveals to Max that Vanessa's married and furious that she didn't come clean, Max confronts her. Vanessa, however, is firm - it's his choice if he wants to see her again. In The Vic, Max and Darren toss coins to settle whether they'll continue seeing Vanessa and Jodie. Darren wins, while Max makes Darren believe he lost, meaning he will stop romancing Jodie's mum. When his phone rings, though, Max can't help but answer and promptly leaves to meet Vanessa again.
Elsewhere, Billie's farewell meal with Carol and Whitney is strained; and as Billie leaves for his train, he asks Carol to look after Whitney.
