View Full Version : Question about women trouble...

Firstly, I stopped taking the pill in January - had a period and haven't had one since, so about 4 months.
Anyway tonight I was showering and noticed that things didn't feel right. Anyway I checked further and well to put it this way instead of spongey inside its like hard/knobbly and more 'built up' on the side facing front, plus the only reason I noticed is because I can feel it without having to really explore which is what worries me. There's a tiny bit of white discharge but its not smelly or anything. Not painful - I'm a bit achy but I presumed that was me coming on. But so far no bleeding or anything.

(Sorry for being graphic btw!)

I've had two migranes recently which I used to get while being on the pill (hence why I stopped taking it for a while) so I thought perhaps its a hormone thing..(I was taking progesterone only pill) or perhaps I'm being totally irrational and its just that I haven't had a period in four months..

Its worrying me but I don't know whether to get an emergency appointment (which would mean me registering here) or wait until next Monday (when I will be home and have a doctor I know). I'm a bit stuck as its exam week.

Any advice would be welcome! And I'll let you know if I come on and I've made a big fuss over nothing.

Stars.. just speaking from my own experience when I was younger... I was on the pill for about 2 years and stopped it due to hormones, side effect etc.. it was 6 months later before I got a period.. I was sent to pregnancy test after pregnancy test and eventually after having a scan I was told I had lazy ovaries.. Apparently you don't release eggs when on the pill and when I came of it my ovaries decided not to work.. they just got lazy.. go see a doctor and they will let you know for sure

Thanks :) There won't be a need for a test as I can safely say I'm not pregnant! :p I'll pop to the doc as soon as I can, but will probably wait until next Mon when I'll be at home.

You can register as a temporary patient at your uni practice. You just need to tell them that you're not registered and want to be seen as a temporary patient and fill a form in. It only takes five minutes.

Thanks. :) I'll ring them up tomorrow morning and ask. I suspect that even if I register as a temporary patient I won't be able to get an appointment for about a week (like last time) because they don't do it on a ring up and get an appointment on the day basis like my home one does. But perhaps they are less busy because people are starting to go home..

I really should've registered but its not really worth the hassle this is only the second time this year I've needed to see the doc!

Update: I rang docs but they said that they only usually accept people that don't live on the Uni accommodation. But the woman was quite helpful and told me where a walk in clinic was. Its in Boots in a shopping centre in town apparently. So.. the plan is - wake up very very early and make it there just after opening! Like around 8.15 and just wait for an appointment. Luckily I have an afternoon exam. One thing I was wondering though do I need my NHS number to get an appointment?

If I don't make it in though (I'm setting lots of alarms though!)- a night of drinking/clubbing won't do me harm will it? :p Need to de-stress from exams!

You shouldn't need your NHS number to get an appointment. Its only when you register at a practice (not a walk in clinic though) that the number is helpful for locating you records.

Drinking should be fine :)

Thanks! :) I just hope I find the place now! :p
