New Love for Darren cast

EastEnders bosses have cast a daughter for feisty Albert Square newcomer Vanessa Gold.

Actress Kylie Babbington joins the Walford soap as Jodie Gold around the same time as her mother, played by Zoe Lucker.

Jodie first appears in the fictional London district in search of her mum and her arrival doesn't go unnoticed by Darren Miller (Charlie G. Hawkins), who takes an immediate shine to her.

With a big heart, an infectious smile and a personality to match, Darren falls head-over-heels in love and quickly begins wooing her with the Miller charm.

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood exclusively told Digital Spy: "I'm really excited about Kylie taking on the role of Jodie. She brings yet more fresh energy to the show - she's a ray of sunshine."

The love of Darren's life Libby Fox (Belinda Owusu) rapidly ended their long-term romance upon learning of his one-night stand with Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison) - and their son George Michael.

Mother and daughter duo Jodie and Vanessa make their first appearance in Walford next month.

Darren still looks so incredibly young. He's got the kind of face that just doesnt ever seem to grow up. She looks way to old for him. I love Darren's character though and would like to see him with a proper girlfriend. You didnt see a lot of action between him and Libby. Maybe here he'll have the chance to do a few kissing scenes. Another Bradley and Stacey style relationship hopefully.

AS raunchy Tanya Turner in racy drama Footballers' Wives, Zoe Lucker went through fellas like they were going out of fashion.

And when the actress breezes into Albert Square as stylish Vanessa Gold, she wastes no time in snaring a love interest - Max!

"Vanessa is smart and really glam," laughs Zoe.

"Max is intrigued by her."

Vanessa cruises into Walford in a flash motor and pulls up at the car lot, where Darren's jaw hits the ground at the sight of this blonde bombshell.

As Vanessa looks from car to car, Darren follows her around like a puppy - until Max spots her and insists on taking over!

He names a price for one of the cars and explains that he'll be in The Vic if she decides to buy it.

Later, Vanessa turns heads as she struts into the pub and asks Max where to sign.

After they conclude their deal, Vanessa suggestively slips a card with her number on it into Max's pocket!

Beautiful, confident women are Max's biggest weakness, so how long will it be before he succumbs to her advances - and what trouble will she bring?

"Vanessa wants fun and uncomplicated sex," smiles Zoe.

"But she has an agenda..."
