CRIMPER Natasha Blakeman is the latest Corrie star to be given the chop by new boss Phil Collinson.
The dippy blonde - played by ex-Holby City actress Rachel Leskovac, 33 - will quit the cobbles later this year in a major storyline.
Street insiders say Natasha will leave a trail of devastation in her wake, causing no end of trouble for other Corrie characters.
Natasha first appeared in Weatherfield in May 2008 to take Maria Connor's job in Audrey's salon.
Since then she has enjoyed a steamy affair with murderer Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) as he tried to make Maria jealous.
She is now dating Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
Rachel is the third cast member to lose her role in the ITV1 soap since Phil took over as producer from Kim Crowther earlier this year.
He previously fired Steven Arnold - butcher Ashley Peacock - and Julia Haworth, who plays his wife Claire, after the pair complained about a lack of plots.
An ITV spokesman told TV Biz yesterday: "We can confirm that Rachel Leskovac will leave Coronation Street later this year.
"Her departure will be the culmination of a dramatic storyline which will be seen on screen this summer and into the autumn."
Producer Phil said: "Rachel is a really talented actress who has been an asset to the show.
"Her character will be involved in an exciting and dramatic storyline which will be an integral part of the build-up to Coronation Street's 50th anniversary.
"She will leave behind a trail of devastation - a real testament to the impact Rachel as Natasha has had on many lives in our community.
"We wish her much success for the future."

she has always been one of those characters on the edge of things rather than really being part of the street. wonder what trouble she is going to cause? maybe something to do with Nick?

I hate that they've sacked Claire and Ashley, I really like them, especially Ashley who has been an integral part of the show for so long now. Its funny to think that he was once with Maxine, it must be like 6 years ago now. He's had some great storylines. Why sack someone for stating the obvious? They havent had a decent plot since Claire had the baby, and the whole Ashley affair thing.

'Coronation Street''s Natasha Blakeman is set to exit the soap with a shock suicide storyline in the autumn, according to The Sun.
The upcoming plot emerges just a few days after the character, played by ex-'Holby City' star Rachel Leskovac, was axed from the soap by new 'Coronation Street' boss Phil Collinson.
Natasha's decision to commit suicide will follow her relationship problems with factory boss Nick Tilsley, but the soap's scriptwriters still aren't sure how the hairdresser will take her life.

is anyone else a bit confused about natasha's suicide motive here? breaking up with nick would obviously be upsetting but i wouldn't think it would drive her to kill herself...
didnt her character kill herself in Holby City.
I think the last suicide in Soaps was Stella in EE.

I agree with LostVoodoo that the reasons given don't seem enough to cause Natasha to commit suicide. Maybe she becomes severely depressed after Nick dumps her :searchme:

Sounds like a reasonable chain of events that will lead to Natasha's depression and suicide. Dramatic stuff...

Coronation Street star Rachel Leskovac has backed the decision to give her character Natasha Blakeman a dramatic exit storyline.
Earlier this year, the soap's series producer Phil Collinson promised that Natasha will leave "a trail of devastation" behind her when she bows out in a forthcoming plot.
Tabloid rumours have since suggested that Natasha is to commit suicide, however these reports remain unconfirmed.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Leskovac was tight-lipped over the circumstances surrounding Natasha's departure, but teased: "I feel very honoured to have been given such a dramatic exit.
"It's quite a different thing for Corrie to do. It would have been easy for them to write Natasha out quietly, because she'd been dipping in and out of all the action for a while.
"They didn't have to invest that much in the character, but I'm so glad they did. I feel I've been given a fantastic opportunity."
Natasha will discover that she is pregnant in next week's episodes of the Weatherfield drama.

Ben Price has hinted that Coronation Street fans will be surprised by forthcoming scenes featuring his character Nick Tilsley.
The actor, who took over the role late last year, revealed that new sides of the businessman's personality will emerge as his current storyline with hairdresser Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) continues.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Price explained: "Underneath Nick's smarmy exterior, he's actually a sensitive little boy.
"I know he can be awful sometimes, but you'll soon see sides of him you never thought you would - which should hopefully be very interesting to watch!"
This week's episodes see Nick deciding to reunite with Natasha and be there for his unborn baby - just after Natasha has had an abortion due to their break-up.
Discussing the twist, Price commented: "Nick has no idea what Natasha has done - he just puts any funny behaviour down to the fact that she's expectant and hormonal. He's absolutely delighted and wants to play a full part, going to the doctors with her, and so on. That's where the drama is. If he was in any way suspicious, it wouldn't be half as good!"
Meanwhile, Coronation Street's Natasha will soon make a big decision - realising that it's time to stop lying to Nick after the stress of her pregnancy deception becomes too much to handle.
The hairdresser comes to her senses following some words of advice from Fiz, who tells her that she's making herself ill due to the pressure she's facing.
Finally ready to confess all, Natasha pays a visit to the factory and prepares to reveal everything to Nick. However, she's unaware that her partner has also reached a significant decision over their relationship.
Dropping down on one knee in front of the factory workers, an oblivious Nick asks for Natasha's hand in marriage. What will Natasha do now?

Ben Price has praised his Coronation Street co-star Rachel Leskovac.
The actor, who plays Nick Tilsley, told DS that he had "loved working with" Leskovac (Natasha Blakeman), who is set to exit the ITV soap.
"I loved working with her, but I think she went out on a brilliant story," Price said. "I think that she's a brilliant actress and she's still going to get work afterwards."
Their current plot has seen Natasha continue to lie that she is pregnant with Nick's child, after she secretly had an abortion.
Price continued: "I was really pleased for her, because she got such a fantastic storyline and she did it brilliantly. That's the way you want to leave a show - you don't want to turn left out of Dev's shop and never come back, you want a series of stories that really make people remember you.
"Rachel is very, very good, and she'll have no trouble working after Corrie."
The actress previously promised lots of "twists and turns" to come in the plot.

Coronation Street actress Rachel Leskovac has said that she is disappointed to be leaving the soap before the upcoming live episode.
Leskovac, who plays Natasha Blakeman, will exit before the recently confirmed live instalment, which will be part of the show's 50th anniversary celebrations.
"I'm gutted to be missing out on the live episode," she told Holy Soap. "I'll definitely be watching it - what a buzz that will be for them."
She continued: "I would love to have done that. One of my biggest passions is theatre and it might feel like that."
The actress admitted that she had not decided to quit the soap but said that she was thankful for her dramatic exit storyline.
"It wasn't my decision to leave," she confirmed. "Like any job, it's got to come to an end at some point. Had I not been given the storyline, I would have felt frustrated that I'd not been given an opportunity to really show what I could do - but I was, so I was happy to have that platform, to have that stage to showcase the brilliant storyline, and hopefully make an impression and a memorable performance."
She added: "That's all you can wish for on a long-running show. The alternative is you stay there many, many years. But I live down South. I like doing new projects. All in all, it's been a really positive experience."
