Natalie Cassidy has asked Wendy Richard's widower to be the moral guardian of her unborn child.
The former EastEnders star reportedly considers John Burns as a "father figure" and was delighted when he immediately agreed to the godfather role, reports The People.
Burns was long-term partner to Richards, who died a year ago from cancer.
A source said: "She couldn't wait to ask him when she found out she was pregnant and was delighted when he said 'yes' straight away." Former Walford co-star Patsy Palmer, 37, has been asked to be the child's godmother.
The baby's dad is transport boss Adam Cottrell, 30, who Cassidy met at the Isle Of Wight Festival nine months ago.
