Meanwhile, Ben reveals more about the girl from school who is bullying him.

Chelsea is suspicious about Amira's constant dizziness and nausea, in today's visit to the Square.

Ronnie is gutted when Jack asks her to leave after she confesses her love for him.

After discovering that Jack punched Dr Steele, Ronnie heads to the hospital to tell Jack how she feels about him, as the drama continues in Albert Square.

Meanwhile, Zsa Zsa wins the Vic's darts tournament with a £300 prize.

Elsewhere, Christian and Syed discuss their options for the future.


Friday 23 April

Amira and Syed have a house warming party, in the final visit of the week to Albert Square, but tensions are running high in the Masood household. Qadim turns up to congratulate his daughter.

Fat Boy gets on the wrong side of Whitney when he says his T-shirt is from her stall – in fact it's from Stacey's.

Amira makes a shock announcement

Masood sits alone at the allotment holding his bandaged hand, while an anxious Syed and Christian wonder whether Masood saw them kissing the previous day. Christian resolves to talk to Masood, who returns home to a domestic nightmare. Having been sent out for nappies, Masood decides to take some time out in The Vic. Inside, Christian apologises to Masood for the kiss he witnessed at the flat but by the end of their discussion, Christian's still none the wiser whether Masood realised that Syed was the other man.

Seeking further guidance, Masood visits the imam at the mosque in the hope he can shed some light on his predicament. The imam sympathises with Masood's situation but clearly warns him of the repercussions if Syed's secret were to become public knowledge. Realising what he has to do, Masood returns to the Square in a bid to dissuade Syed from coming out. When he returns, however, he's stunned when Amira announces that she could be pregnant…

Meanwhile, Max returns to the hospital to see Jack. There, Jack asks about Ronnie and Max is forced to break the news to him that he saw her kissing Dr Steele. Enraged at his doctor's actions, Jack uses his good arm to punch him in the face. Ronnie turns up in the wake of the argument but Jack sends her away. Ronnie eventually reappears and lambastes Jack for his unreasonable behaviour. The pair descend into another argument which results in Ronnie confessing her love for him. As Ronnie busies herself in Jack's room, Jack struggles to cope with her fussing and asks her to leave again. Max can't understand Jack's rationale but it's clear that Jack's a broken man when he questions why Ronnie would want to be with a man who can't even hold a knife and fork.

Elsewhere, Fatboy's frustrated when his ice cream van breaks down; Shirley and Phil argue about how to deal with Ben's bullies; a stressed Amira asks Chelsea to help out with her clients while she sorts out the new flat; Phil and Shirley meet Joseph, the father of Ben's bully, in the café; Chelsea's not happy with Amira's relaxed work ethic, prompting Amira to apologise and explain that she's been feeling sick and dizzy all day; Zsa Zsa discovers that the ice cream in the van has gone off; and Shirley's tactics result in Joseph agreeing to have a word with Natasha about her bullying ways.


Masood struggles to deal with what he's seen

Masood's taken aback, having walked in on Christian and Syed in a passionate embrace in Syed's new flat. Retreating to the street, a horrified and shaking Masood returns home where Zainab questions whether he found their son. Masood, however, is visibly troubled about what he's just seen, while Zainab is none the wiser. With that, Masood reveals that he has a surprise for Syed for when he eventually arrives at the party. Syed eventually turns up at the house, where Masood reveals that he went to track him down at the flat but claims that nobody was in and it was all locked up.

After the meal, father and son clear away the dirty dishes and Masood reveals that the door to the flat wasn't locked, before saying that he saw Christian with another man and states how wrong Christian's behaviour is. Zainab asks her husband if Syed appreciated the Koran he bought him for his birthday and Masood lies about Syed's reaction, stating that he was touched by the gift. Gripping onto the cake knife, Masood puts it into the sink and calmly lifts his hand out, covered in blood…

Meanwhile, Max pays Jack a visit in hospital ahead of his operation the following day. While there, Max is surprised to hear that Jack still has feelings for Ronnie and is frustrated that he can't get hold of her on the phone. Max agrees to track Ronnie down for his brother and heads back to the Square. At the club, Ronnie enjoys a drink with Dr Steele. Later, Max arrives but is puzzled to discover that the building's locked. Heading to Ronnie's flat, he's shocked to see her and the doctor kissing.

Elsewhere, Ben tries to flee Walford with a packed bag; Pat and Peggy argue about their campaigns for local office; Ben bumps into a concerned Heather who takes him for a drink in the café; Roxy locks Pat and Peggy in the lounge at The Vic in the hope that they'll resolve their differences; Ben admits to Heather that he's being bullied; Pat and Peggy decide to pull out of the election in the name of friendship; Ben reveals to Shirley that his bully Natasha has threatened to kill him; and Harvey turns up on the Square to play Pat and Peggy off each other.


Syed resolves to tell his family the truth

The Masoods' home is a hive of activity following Amira's surprise announcement that she could be pregnant. Zainab's delighted by the news and excitedly suggests that they throw a flat warming party for Amira and Syed to celebrate the start of their new life and the pregnancy. Masood visits Christian and takes pleasure in revealing the news that Amira's with child. Crushed by the revelation, Christian's emotional that this could mean the end of his relationship with Syed. With that, Masood reminds Christian that he's not yet been paid for his decorating work and so hands him a wad of notes, insisting that he go on holiday for a while.

Later, Zainab's unhappy that Christian's not at the flat warming party. She's lost for words, though, when Masood explains why - he walked in on Christian and Syed kissing. Zainab tries to cover the fact she already knew about their affair, while Syed and Christian have an emotional heart-to-heart about their predicament. Highly emotional, Christian points out that now Amira's pregnant, they must end their relationship. Syed begs Christian to rethink his decision, suggesting that they could run away together. Christian, however, is adamant that he can't continue living a lie. With his mind made up, Syed resolves to tell everyone the truth once and for all…

Meanwhile, Ronnie meets Dr Steele in The Vic and the pair embrace in a quiet corner. He flinches, however, when Ronnie touches the bruise that Jack caused the previous day by punching him. Noticing that he's wearing concealer, Ronnie quizzes Dr Steele over why Jack hit him. When the doctor admits that Jack thought Ronnie still might be interested in him, Ronnie rushes to the hospital. There, she reveals to Jack that she loves him no matter what and takes out an engagement ring that Jack bought her - when he's well enough to propose on one knee, she'll agree to marry him.

Elsewhere, Chelsea suggests that Amira should take a pregnancy test; Ben's delighted that his bullies didn't bother him on his return to school; Chelsea panics when she realises that her period's late; The Vic holds a darts tournament; Zsa Zsa's happy when Whitney offers her a job on the stall; Chelsea and Amira both take a pregnancy test but they're interrupted by Denise; with her mind on other things, Amira accidentally removes half of Denise's eyebrow; and Jordan informs Ben that Abi's being bullied for being friends with him.


Syed's torn between his heart and his head

Syed's still determined to come clean with his family about his sexuality and relationship with Christian. At the Masoods', Zainab and Masood quietly process potential ways of dealing with the news that Syed's gay.

At the flat, Christian begins to feel like an outcast as the family congratulate Syed and Amira about the pregnancy. While a fraught Masood and Zainab ponder the situation, Syed walks in and profusely apologises for the situation he's caused. Despite having known for months, Zainab successfully manages to cover her tracks - and thanks Syed for playing along. Amira, however, has something to say but she's cut short.

Later at the Masoods', Amira's father Qadim turns up for the celebration but Syed's nowhere to be found. Back at the new flat, Syed informs Christian that his father knows the truth about them. Christian once again insists that they must go public with their relationship as he can't continue living a lie. Rethinking his position, Syed reluctantly admits to Christian that he needs to respect his peers, before walking out. As he does, Christian notices a photo on the wall and he's struck with an idea…

An apologetic Syed eventually arrives late to the party and quietly lets Zainab know that "it's done". Will Christian give up on Syed so easily?

Elsewhere, Fatboy upsets Whitney over a T-shirt; Chelsea makes a surprise discovery; and Whitney manages to exact her revenge on Fatboy.

It doesnt seem like there will be enough time to deal with Amira's reaction, if she's leaving the following monday. Yeh Masood is bound to be angry with Zanaib, knowing about it not telling him, then lying that she didnt have a clue. Really bad! And the fact that she made Syed go ahead with the wedding, destroying Amira's life in the process. Masood probably would have gone about it in a more diplomatic way.

Agreed, it does seem that part of the storyline will be over too quickly. I'm sure it won't be the end of Syed's anguish about being gay, though.
