A new Gaga album is imminent, according to a message posted by the star herself to the chat box at fansite gagadaily.com and later confirmed by her official Twitter.

Her announcement, writ largely in Kanye caps, below:

LITTLE MONSTERS! THIS IS GAGA! I JUST SAW YOUR VIDEOS, IM VERY EMOTIONAL. GOD BLESSED ME WHEN HE MADE YOU.

Lady Gaga’s producer RedOne has spoken out about her new album saying it's 'shocking', according to www.perezhilton.com

Red One said, ‘It’s going to be shocking, shocking, shocking!’

Lady GaGa's manager has praised her "incredible" new album.

Troy Carter insisted that the record, which GaGa announced earlier this year was called Born This Way, will be worth the wait for fans.

"We're just starting to play music for the label," Music Rooms quotes him as saying.

"We're very excited about it. We're starting to play a little for people and getting a feel for it, and she's done an incredible job, a really incredible job."

Carter also explained that they have yet to decide on how to market the album, which he said has always been a collaborative effort with GaGa.

He admitted: "Well, you know what, it's not where I go from a business standpoint, it's more about where she goes creatively because, truth be told, we built the business around her creative infrastructure and that business that was built is unique to Lady Gaga."

Born This Way is slated for release in early 2011.

Little Monsters, mark your calendars: Lady Gaga’s new album, “Born This Way” will come out May 23, 2011. Mama Monster herself tweeted the news over the weekend on her website, www.ladygaga.com. Fans had been hoping for an earlier release date since Lady Gaga has been talking up the new album since this summer, when she debuted a few songs including “You and I,” a piano-based ballad. The album will be preceded by the title track, which will come out just in time for Valentine’s Day on Sunday, Feb. 13...which, by the way, is the same day as the Grammys

Lady Gaga revealed her new album cover on Twitter.

It's only 2011 but Lady Gaga wants her next album Born This Way to be the best of the decade.

The performer tells the March issue of Vogue her fans deserve "nothing less" than that. She also doesn't want to record "something trendy".

The album's first single of the same name is described as a gay-pride anthem, which the singer tells the magazine she wrote in 10 minutes.

Lady Gaga is nominated for six awards at Sunday's Grammy Awards including album of the year.

The album Born This Way will hit stores in May.
