ARMED cops raided EastEnders star Steve McFadden's home in search of guns...but the only weapon there was one they hadn't bargained for.
For the shocked actor was with a PORN STAR mate called Big Omar - famous for his large lunchbox - when officers from Scotland Yard swooped.
And there were red faces all round as it emerged that McFadden, 51 - who plays hardman Phil Mitchell in the hit soap - had been the victim of a hoax.
"The police got two tip-offs that Steve had guns hidden in his home - so an armed team was sent round to check it out," a source told the News of the world.
"No one was more shocked than Steve. The police did a quick search but put it down to a malicious call.
"Steve's good mates with Omar who is often at his place. But if he could have chosen any person to be there when police came round, it probably wouldn't have been him."
Blue movie veteran Omar Williams, 41, has starred in and directed more than 50 XXX-rated films including Helen Does Holland, Muffy the Vampire Slayer, Gym Sex Adventure and Bonin' Up On Blondes.
He specialises in movies depicting "dogging" or outdoor sex in front of strangers - an old pastime of McFadden's revealed by the News of the World five years ago.
The Albert Square star's ex-girlfriend Angela Bostock - mother to two of his children - branded him a "pervert" as she told how he made her go dogging with him in car parks across Europe, wearing a blonde wig and glasses so he wouldn't be recognised by fans.
Fortunately police recognised Steve as they entered his £1.5million home in Highgate, north London, on March 5.
Our source said: "They were very apologetic. The only weapon there, so to speak, was Omar's. Steve was very co-operative but wasn't impressed. He is wondering who would want to stitch him up like that."
Dad-of-four McFadden - whose EastEnders character was once jailed for armed robbery and was also famously shot - declined to comment about the gun hoax last night.
But his agent Scott Mitchell confirmed that the raid had taken place and that no guns were found.
