As Steve and Becky continue to discuss their plans to adopt Steve starts to have reservations about the idea.

Leanne surprises Peter with a suggestion - unaware that he has got a surprise of his own planned.

Leanne makes a fool of herself as she confronts Michelle and Peter believing they are having an affair. But what is really going on?

Lewis tells Audrey he won't see Rita again but is it too late for Audrey?

After ruining Peter's surprise Leanne turns the tables on him with Ciaran's help.

John meets up with a face from his past.

Sophie decides to tell Sian about the kiss between Ryan and Tamsin - how will she react?

Audrey's furious with her long-time friend Rita when she discovers that she's booked a date with escort Lewis, despite Audrey's confession that she really likes him.

Rita, however, is quick to point out that Lewis is a paid-for man and at that moment, Audrey realises what a difficult situation she's landed herself in.

As their argument continues, though, Audrey starts bringing up Rita's track record with men. Not one to roll over and take a verbal beating, Rita sticks up for herself and shouts Audrey down, prompting the salon owner to dole out a slap...

Audrey's furious to see Rita with Lewis

Audrey and Rita go for a drink before the dinner dance and it looks like Rita's about to confess to booking Lewis. However, when Audrey unwittingly pities Rita's boring life, she decides to keep quiet about her impending date.

Later, Audrey's with Claudia when she spots Lewis but her smile's wiped off her face when she realises that he's with Rita. Audrey's spiteful and as a fight brews, Lewis ushers Rita away.

Back on the Street, Rita's defiant as she books another date with Lewis, while Claudia warns Audrey that she mustn't make the mistake of falling for Lewis. It's clear, though, that Audrey already has…

Meanwhile, Steve mentions that they should consider adoption but Becky's tearful - she's sure nobody would give her a baby with her history.

However, when Hayley insists that she's uniquely qualified to understand the needs of a child in care, Becky's thoughtful. With that, Becky and Steve make a big decision.

Elsewhere, Sophie's happy to see Sian again and offers to help sort things with Ryan; Rosie tells Kevin to look out for new man Kyle as he goes to watch Weatherfield County; and Graeme becomes concerned about Tina's welfare.


Audrey slaps Rita

As Rita talks to Emily, Audrey bursts into her flat and begins berating her for her betrayal. Not wanting to wash their dirty linen in public, Rita asks Emily to leave.

With Emily out of the way, Audrey lays into Rita and lambastes her for 'having an affair' with Lewis. However, when Rita points out that Lewis is a paid escort, the reality of the situation hits home for Audrey.

Their argument continues as Audrey lashes out, raking over Rita's past history with men. In the end, Audrey pushes Rita too far and when she bites back, Audrey slaps her.

Meanwhile, Steve and Becky's adoption plan begins to take shape. Becky and Steve research adoption online and Becky admits that she'd love to give a girl like her a chance in life.

With that, they agree to attend an 'Introduction to Adoption' meeting the following week.

Peter starts to reflect about Leanne. When Ken plans an anniversary do for Deirdre in the Rovers, it gets Peter thinking about Leanne and his family life.

Elsewhere, Trev agrees to a date with Carla and forgets about his plans with Janice; Sophie arranges a meeting for Ryan and Sian; and when Ken plans an anniversary party for Deirdre in The Rovers, Peter starts thinking about Leanne and his family life.

When Emily attempts to force a truce between Audrey and Rita, another row breaks out which spills onto the Street. As Rita insists that she won't listen to someone who's in love with a gigolo, a shocked Norris takes Rita home.

Norris says he's a good listener and as Rita confesses how lonely she's recently been, he asks her to start working back in The Kabin again.

Audrey, meanwhile, confides in Deirdre about Lewis. Audrey reluctantly admits that she's made a fool of herself by falling for a younger man who just so happened to be the only glimmer of light in her life.

Meanwhile, having heard about Steve and Becky's adoption plans, Leanne mentions to Peter that she'd like to be Simon's official mum.

Hitting on an idea, Peter heads out, leaving Leanne wondering what he's up to.

Sian's devastated when a row with Ryan spells the end of their relationship. Sophie's there to comfort Sian but Sophie's fuming when she goes to see Ryan and he tries to kiss her. As Sophie rushes off, Ryan's left kicking himself.

Elsewhere, Janice looks forward to a fish and chip night with Trev.


Leanne ruins Peter's proposal plans

Peter spends the day avoiding Leanne and instead plots his proposal with the help of Ciaran and Michelle. However, when Janice tells Leanne that she's seen Peter snooping with Michelle, Leanne jumps to conclusions.

As Ken and Deirdre's wedding anniversary party gets under way, Ken makes a heartfelt speech about Deirdre but when Peter sneaks in with Michelle, Leanne furiously confronts them.

Peter eventually silences Leanne, though, revealing that Peter was actually going to propose - and Michelle was helping him chose the ring.

Leanne's gutted that she jumped to the wrong conclusion and, in turn, ruined something that could have been so romantic.

Meanwhile, Audrey's feeling down after visiting Gail in prison and so calls Lewis to arrange a date.

It's therapeutic for her but when Lewis announces that he's not seeing Rita, before insisting that Audrey needn't pay for his time, it's clear that Audrey's on top of the world.

Ryan urges Sophie not to let Sian find out that he made a pass at her, insisting it was a stupid mistake. Sophie's torn, though, especially when Ryan tells Sian that he loves her…

Elsewhere, as Janice prepares a candlelit fish and chip supper for two, Trev turns up at Carla's flat. He's about to call Janice and let her know that he's not going to make it but when Carla pulls him in for a kiss, all thoughts of Janice are forgotten.


Leanne proposes to Peter

Sophie reluctantly confesses to Sian that Ryan tried to kiss her. Gutted by the revelation, Sian storms to confront Ryan at the flat. Caught up in her rage, Ryan blurts out that Sophie's lying to split them up - she came onto him.

Sophie insists that Ryan's not being truthful but as Ryan pleads for Sian's forgiveness, she sides with him and throws Sophie out.

Meanwhile, Leanne's still kicking herself about what happened at Ken and Deirdre's anniversary party but when she finds the engagement ring that Peter had bought for her, she has an idea.

Apologising to Michelle for what happened, Leanne invites everyone to The Rovers. Ciaran orchestrates Peter's arrival and he's surprised to walk in to a party.

Peter's confused until a nervous Leanne goes down on bended knee and asks Peter to marry her.

An old teaching colleague of John finds him in the café at the college he's working at. Revealing that he's quitting teaching to move abroad, Colin invites him to his leaving do. John's unsure about going but Fiz insists that they should.

Elsewhere, Janice is gutted to discover Trev spent the night at Carla's; Leanne's friend Cheryl causes a stir in the Rovers; and Rosie brings her footballer boyfriend Kyle home for dinner.
