Former EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has announced that she is expecting her first child.
The actress, best known for her role as Walford's Sonia Fowler, is 12 weeks pregnant after trying for a baby with 30-year-old Adam Cottrell, her boyfriend of nine months.
Cassidy, 26, met Cottrell at the Isle Of Wight festival last summer and the pair are said to be thrilled by their news.
Speaking to OK magazine, Cassidy commented: "We haven't really gone public with our relationship, so I guess this will seem a bit sudden to some people. But it was a whirlwind romance for us too, I guess. We feel like we've known each other forever."
The ex-soap star went on to explain that she has polycystic ovaries and had feared she would struggle to conceive.
She added: "I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Adam will propose to me before the baby is born. The baby was conceived over Christmas, which is the loveliest Christmas gift ever. I came off my contraception in November but I never thought I'd get pregnant that quickly!"
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant also confirmed that she and Cottrell hope to have "a lot of kids" and are aiming to be a family of four by the time Cassidy reaches the age of 30.

Natalie, 27, who played Sonia Fowler, is believed to have given birth on Tuesday but kept it quiet to honour an exclusive magazine deal.
Mother and baby are said to be well. A friend said: "She's over the moon to have a daughter. She's healthy and everything went well.
"But she agreed to keep quiet and did the shoot on Thursday for the celebrity magazine. It was a money offer she couldn't refuse."
The actress got engaged to Adam Cottrell, 30, during a recent holiday in Italy.
Natalie, who has battled her weight over the years and starred in a fitness video, recently vowed to lose the baby weight "in my own healthy way".
She added: "I want to be the woman who gets the exercise DVD for Christmas, not the woman who's in the DVD!"

Natalie Cassidy has said that she is on "cloud nine" after the birth of her baby daughter.
The former EastEnders actress told OK that she and fiance Adam Cottrell are over the moon with the birth of Eliza Beatrice last Tuesday.
"We're amazing! We're on cloud nine," she said. "We keep crying all the time. We're a family! I can't believe she's ours. She's so beautiful, I can't begin to tell you - I know everybody says that about their own baby but she really is."
However, Cassidy revealed that she was devastated to have had to have a Cesarean.
She said: "We were [planning a natural birth]. At one point I was even thinking of having a home birth, so I was really upset when I realised it was going to have to be a Cesarean. I was sobbing my heart out.
"I know it sounds ridiculous but it just seemed like such a 'celebrity' thing to do, to have a Cesarean, with the whole 'too posh to push' thing."
The 27-year-old added: "I've got ulcers in my mouth, I'm sore from the operation, my boobs hurt from breast feeding, I'm constipated... but I'm so happy!"

Natalie Cassidy's fiancé has reportedly been arrested after allegedly attacking her.
According to the The Sun, police were called to the property the ex-EastEnders star shares with Adam Cottrell.
The 31-year-old, who is said to have smashed furniture during the row on Sunday night, is thought to have been charged with two counts of assault and criminal damage.
Cassidy and Cottrell welcomed their first child, baby girl Eliza Beatrice, last October.
The couple, who met at the Isle of Wight music festival in 2009, became engaged last year during a trip to Italy.
Discussing her relationship with Cottrell, Cassidy recently told a magazine: "We are having more sex than ever. But we're not at it like rabbits."
Hertfordshire police said: "A man has been charged with two counts of assault by beating and two counts of criminal damage.
"He will appear at East Herts Magistrates' Court on May 31. We will not be commenting further."

Eastenders actress Natalie Cassidy was smeared in mascara and battered with a slipper in a humiliating beating by her fiancé, a court heard today.
Adam Cottrell, 31, struck the actress in two separate alcohol-fuelled attacks at their Broxbourne home in front of their eight-month-old daughter. :angry:
The actress, who played Sonia Jackson in the soap, fled their home to stay with family after the beatings on April 13 and May 20.
When she returned to their home to collect her belongings Cottrell flew into another rage - smashing a microwave oven, wineglasses and candelabra.
Cottrell admitted two counts of assault by beating and one of criminal damage at East Hertfordshire magistrates' court. Prosecutor Elaine McMillan said: "On April 13 they had an argument during the course of which the defendant lost his temper and assaulted her, smearing her with mascara and striking her with a slipper to the upper leg.
"On May 20 the couple had another argument ... he grabbed her by the arms and ripped her top. On May 22 she asked him to pick up his things and leave. She describes him as smashing the place up."
Cottrell was bailed until June 21 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Presiding magistrate Jackie Mountford said a custodial sentence was likely.

The Celebrity Big Brother star called off her engagement to Adam Cottrell last year after he was charged with assaulting her and criminal damage following a heated row.
Cottrell was later sentenced to 120 hours of unpaid work and placed on a 12-month community order with 12 months' supervision, after pleading guilty to the charges at East Hertfordshire Magistrates' Court.
However, Cassidy has now decided to take Cottrell back following an emotional phone call in which he apologised for his actions and asked for help battling his alcoholism.
"I know many people will *question my decision. Others will disagree with my choice. But I do forgive Adam. We are back together and I *strongly believe we can make it work. At the moment we are taking it one day at a time. It's the only way forward," Cassidy told The People.
"But we love each other to pieces and are happier than we have ever been. I don't want people to think of me as a *victim. And I certainly don't want people to think I'm going back into a violent relationship because I am scared to be alone. I would never do that to myself or to my daughter.
"I now realise everything that happened *between Adam and myself was down to alcohol. And he knows this too. But that is why he has sought help and is in recovery. He has not had a drink for more than 60 days and I am very proud of his achievement.
"I will never forget the things he did to me during that awful time but I do forgive him. He says he is deeply sorry and I believe he means it. Now he needs to forgive himself and leave what *happened behind."
Cassidy, who has a 17-month-old daughter with Cottrell called Eliza, added that her friends and family are "very wary" about the reunion, but insisted she is "100 per cent happy" and "90 per cent certain things are going to work out".

EASTENDERS actress Patsy Palmer has backed former co-star Natalie Cassidy's decision to get back with her violent ex-fiancé.
Mum-of-four Patsy supported Natalie on Twitter after the former Strictly contestant admitted she had reunited with Adam Cottrell despite his conviction for assaulting her.
Natalie, who has a 17-month-old girl Eliza with Adam, said she was giving the relationship another chance after Cottrell vowed to quit booze.
Despite criticism of Nat's decision, Patsy said she hoped the pair could make it work.
Patsy, who plays Walford's brash Bianca Butcher, tweeted: "I'd like to wish Nat_Cassidy and Adam and Eliza all my love. Having a family in recovery from alcoholism is the greatest gift... peace!!."
