A new family are to cause havoc in Emmerdale when they join the village after winning the lottery, it has been revealed.
The forthcoming arrivals - comprising of a couple and their four troublesome teenage children - set tongues wagging by moving into a stately home after their numbers came up in the EuroMillions draw, according to reports today.
It is thought that the clan, who previously lived on an inner-city council estate, are well-known to the police due to their previous activities and waste no time before splashing out on new cars after arriving in the village.
The family soon find themselves barred from the Woolpack due to their anti-social behaviour, but are expected to later make an attempt to have the last laugh by buying the pub.
A show source told The Mirror: "This is all at the hush-hush stage at the moment, but no other UK soap has done this before and we do not want to be beaten to the punch."
The insider added: "[Lottery] winners have a pedigree of looking for luxury homes in the countryside and, as in real life, not all winners are nice people."
