A Morning At The Opera
Day 15, 10:10
The sleepy Housemates got a culture shock when a loud burst of opera was siphoned into their bedroom this morning.
Compared to the piercing alarms, giant vacuum noises and Kylie Minogue repeats of the past, this morning's alarm noise, an aria from Bizet's Carmen, was music to the Housemates' ears.
Culture vulture Derek was loving it and sprang to attention in the kitchen, conducting the aria with the flamboyance of Simon Rattle crossed with Jamie Oliver.
Sneaky Anthony crawled across the floor in time to the music, creeping up on a sleeping Craig. As the music built he reached under the covers to prod the slumbering lad, before pouring a glass of water over him just as the opera reached a crescendo.
Craig gets an unwelcome wetting by AnthonyDespite the looming eviction, the atmosphere in the bedroom was harmonious, everyone seeming in good spirits, laughing and joking with each other.
Then again, they've only been awake for nine minutes. There's plenty of time for Big Brother The Soap Opera - a chorus of bitching and bickering - to get going.
And, of course, one Housemate will be singing their swan song tonight.
