Burton hired Windsor 'without audition'

Barbara Windsor has revealed that Tim Burton "loves" her character in EastEnders.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the film director hired the star for his latest film Alice in Wonderland without an audition.

Speaking at the film's premiere in London, Windsor revealed: "He told me he loves the Mitchell family!

"I was on the EastEnders set when my agent called and said, 'Tim Burton wants you for the voice of the Dormouse in the Johnny Depp Alice movie. I couldn't believe it, and at my age!"

"I said, 'Do I have to audition?' and he said, 'No, he loves you in EastEnders and he loves the Carry On movies. You've got the job as long as you do your laugh!'"
