View Full Version : Adrian Chiles threatens to quit One show
Adrian Chiles is on the verge of leaving The One Show over plans to replace him as host on Friday nights with Chris Evans.
Despite being offered his own chat show as a consolation, Chiles is said to be furious and threatening to quit altogether.
But his stance could backfire – as the BBC is thought to have Chris Hollins waiting in the wings to take over the Monday to Thursday slots if he leaves.
My sofa: Adrian Chiles said he wants no-one else sitting beside Christine Bleakley
Evans, 43, would be brought in to anchor a new, extended Friday show that would start the weekend with a bang, in the wake of Jonathan Ross’s departure.
He would work alongside Chiles’s co-host Christine Bleakley.
However Chiles, 42, has apparently insisted he does not want anyone else on the sofa with Miss Bleakley, 31 – though she is said to be furious about being dragged into the mess.
A BBC insider said: ‘Adrian has rejected a massive offer, which includes his own Friday night chat show on BBC2.
‘There will be no other offer on the table, our offer is incredibly generous and clearly you can’t do everything – you cannot appear on TV six times in five days.
‘But Adrian has spat his dummy out and is saying “I’m going to leave”. He has rejected our offer and we’re now just waiting to see whether he will walk or calm down.’
The source added: ‘Christine is sick of it, she is furious. She feels that she is being dragged into a problem which isn’t her own.’
Chris Evans: BBC bosses want him to replace Chiles on Friday One Show
Chiles is on a £1million-a-year deal with the corporation and has become one of its most high-profile presenters in recent years.
He signed his current two-year contract in 2008 despite a £6million offer to be the face of ITV Sport.
His contract expires in the next few months, and while the BBC has not offered him any more money for a new deal, the Mail has been told the terms include a continuation of his current projects, including BBC1’s The One Show, the BBC2 Apprentice spin-off show, You’re Fired, and the Sunday night Match of The Day 2 programme.
He would also be made one of the anchors of the World Cup coverage this summer and is being lined up as one of the corporation’s faces of the 2012 Olympics.
He has also been offered the two-series deal for his own Friday night BBC2 chat show.
The source continued: ‘This is a massive offer, but Adrian has said “I don’t want anyone else working with Christine”.
‘He has also realised that in the absence of Jonathan Ross, a Friday night hour-long show becomes an interesting prospect with some Alist guests that he does not want to miss out on.’
A spokesman for Adrian told the Mail: ‘Adrian is totally committed to the One Show and it’s a matter that he is discussing with the BBC.’
Evans is being groomed as one of the BBC’s stars, after being handed Sir Terry Wogan’s breakfast show slot on Radio 2 last month.
Bosses believe he is perfect for The One Show having previously hosted TFI Friday on Channel 4.
But his last major TV show OFI Sunday on ITV was axed after just five episodes.
No formal approach has been made to BBC Breakfast sports host Hollins, 38, to take over from Chiles if he leaves, but the source said the Strictly Come Dancing winner ‘would be our guy’.

I love him on the apprentice, you're fired!
Chris Evans has reportedly signed a deal to replace Adrian Chiles on Friday evening editions of The One Show.
The Radio 2 DJ was first linked to the show in February, but Chiles later threatened to leave the BBC over the news.
However, a One Show source has now told The Guardian: "A deal has been agreed for Chris to do Fridays."
It is unclear how many editions of the show Evans has agreed to host but an insider claimed that producers are discussing whether or not to make Friday night editions more focused on entertainment news.
"There has been a lot of talking about what happens if entertainment is saved for Fridays," the source said. "Does it change the show too much? It's still being discussed but the fact is that Adrian will not be required on Fridays."
It is thought that Chiles will continue to host the programme for four nights a week, although he has not yet signed a new contract with the BBC.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: "While we do not discuss contracts, Adrian is part of our plans for the future of The One Show."
Meanwhile, Chiles's representative explained: "Adrian Chiles is currently talking to the BBC."
Adrian Chiles is quitting The One Show... in protest at being replaced by Chris Evans on Friday nights.
Chiles, 42 – whose £1million-a-year contract with the BBC ends this month – will give executive *producer Doug Carnegie his decision on Thursday after show bosses refused to back down over Evans’ slot.
He will be replaced by BBC *Breakfast host and Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris Hollins, who stood in for him last week.
A BBC source said: “He’s been with the show since Day One and now feels snubbed that someone else is been brought in to do his job on the biggest night of the week.”
Chiles launched the show in 2007 with Myleene Klass, who was later replaced by Christine Bleakley. He was *reported to be heartbroken when close pal Bleakley started dating *footballer Frank Lampard.
He's not even that good, glad the bosses didnt back dwn, no mans bigger than the show.
I still cant watch the one show, i find it to bizarre. Like an Adults version of Blue Peter!
Adrian Chiles has defected to ITV for an annual £1m contract, according to reports.
The presenter, who came close to signing for the broadcaster last year, has accepted a three-year-deal to be the face of ITV1's football coverage, according to People.
Chiles had looked poised to quit the BBC following the corporation's decision to hire Chris Evans to front The One Show on Friday evenings alongside Christine Bleakley.
"This is a massive signing for us. Adrian is a top talent and the public love his style," an ITV source revealed. "We were quite frankly staggered by the way the BBC treated him and made an immediate offer, which we're delighted he's accepted. This is a real coup for ITV."
Another insider explained the 43-year-old's decision: "Adrian doesn't want to fall out with the BBC but he has been hurt by the way the BBC seems to have gone out of its way to try and relaunch the TV career of Chris Evans while putting The One Show's reputation at risk.
"He has built up an audience from nothing to more than 6 million, five nights a week and really knows his audience. Chris Evans is taking over, as he did with Wogan on Radio 2, a ready-made following."
The source added: "Adrian has absolutely nothing against Chris Evans but feels he should be launching his own show rather than gatecrashing someone else's show which is already successful.
"Adrian feels it is better to leave now while The One Show is at the top rather than hang around to see what happens. He's excited by the opportunities at ITV. They desperately want him as their big new star and that says something about their foresight."

Good for Adrian, rather than just moaning but things, he took matters into his own hands and got a smashing new job. Well done him.
ADRIAN CHILES SIGNS EXCLUSIVE ITV DEAL
ITV has signed an exclusive four-year deal with Adrian Chiles to present a range of high profile programming, including ITV’s football coverage and GMTV.
Chiles will lead ITV’s World Cup coverage in June, including England’s two peaktime opening games, and from next season he will be in the chair for the Champions League, England’s home internationals and away friendlies as well as The FA Cup - the best portfolio of live free-to-air games in the country.
The deal will also see Chiles take a seat on the GMTV sofa five mornings a week later this year and he will host a new factual entertainment series from 2011.
Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television, Channels and Online, said:
“Adrian is a brilliant presenter, journalist and a football fanatic - I’m very much looking forward to working with him again when he joins ITV.
“He has the rare talent of being able to make television presenting look effortless. He will be at home at ITV whether it is on our flagship breakfast programme or in the football studio.”
Adrian Chiles said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining ITV, especially as I’ll be renewing acquaintances with two key figures in my career: Peter Fincham, who conceived The One Show in the first place and asked me to present it. I’m delighted to be part of his ambitious plans for ITV. And I’m also looking forward to working again with Niall Sloane who, as the BBC’s head of football, launched Match of the Day 2 with me.
“The chance to front ITV’s football coverage and GMTV would have proved an irresistible opportunity at the best of times. But, coming as it did at an awkward period for me at the BBC, it made the decision to leave not quite as hard as it might have been.
“I would have been happy to stay at the BBC doing the same shows on the same terms, especially The One Show, of which I am so proud having worked on it since the first pilots four years ago.
“It’s no secret how disappointed I was by the controller’s decision to change an apparently successful and well-loved show at this stage, but fully respect her right to do so and sincerely wish her and the brilliant One Show team well with it.
“I’ve spent all my working life at the BBC, working with and learning from some of the best people in the business. I will miss all my friends and colleagues very much but can’t wait to get started with new people on two major new challenges for me at ITV.”
ITV PRESS RELEASE
Fiona Phillips has praised Adrian Chiles's move to GMTV.
Chiles announced yesterday that he has signed a deal to move from the BBC to ITV and will become the main anchor on GMTV five days a week.
Phillips, who left the show in 2008, has now claimed that Chiles will be a good host on the programme.
Writing in The Mirror, she said: "Although the arrival of Adrian Chiles at GMTV will inevitably mean turmoil for some of my mates still manning the sofa, it is a move akin to a perfectly placed free-kick for him.
"The blokeishly charming One Show star inherits a programme that's well-loved, but also tired and in need of an injection of heavyweight sparkle. His laid-back manner, down-to-earth ease and his sometimes biting dry wit will provide some much needed stuffing for that famous well-worn sofa."
Phillips added that it is a "privilege" and an "honour" to appear on the programme and interview such high-profile guests and promised that Chiles will receive a warm welcome.
She said: "He will be blown away by the friendliness of the production staff and the tight-knit team, some of whom have been with GMTV since launch day 17 years ago and are people who consider it a passion rather than a job."
Phillips also offered Chiles some tips, joking: "My advice to Adrian is to go out and paint the town red - or whatever colour West Bromwich Albion wear - and then have the sleep to end all sleeps. For what follows is a life lacking in it, thanks to those pesky 3am starts."
Adrian Chiles is defecting to GMTV in a £6million deal, sparking a clearout on the breakfast show.
Ben Shephard and Andrew Castle are to be axed to make way for The One Show host.
And Kate Garraway and Emma Crosby could follow as bosses try to poach Chiles’ BBC co-star Christine Bleakley. An ITV source said: “The shake up on GMTV will be huge.”

Chiles celebrated his £6million ITV deal with a 2am beer after bosses plucked him from under BBC rivals’ noses.
The 43-year-old The One Show star signed a contract near the BBC’s West London HQ within hours of finishing presenting Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night.
But the move – dubbed Snatch of the Day – will spark a *bloodbath on the GMTV sofa where regulars Ben Shephard and Andrew Castle are to be axed to make way for the football-mad presenter.
And there are fears ITV will embark on a dogged pursuit of Chiles’ One Show co-star Christine Bleakley to bring her over as his sidekick – meaning the end of Kate Garraway and Emma Crosby.
Bosses have also put Myleene Klass on top of their wish list as a suitable female co-host.
Yesterday, there was shock at GMTV as it became clear the show is set for its biggest shake-up since its launch 17 years ago. It comes after BBC Breakfast overtook it in the battle for morning viewers. It now has around 1.3million viewers - up to 500,000 more than GMTV.
A GMTV source said: "Ben, Andrew and Kate have been nervous for some time about the future, but everyone is astonished by how radical the revamp is. It's clear the show is going to be transformed around Adrian five days a week."
Chiles signed a four-year deal that makes him ITV’s highest paid daytime star. He will also host their World Cup coverage and matches including the Champions League.
A source said: “We’re delighted to get Adrian. He is going to be central to our breakfast broadcasts and our football coverage. Adrian started The One Show with Myleene and is great with Christine too, so we want one of them to join him to form a dream GMTV team.”
Chiles’ defection left BBC bosses stunned and angry.
Insiders insisted he was making the wrong move. One source said: “It is his loss not ours.
“He is going from The One Show which averages over five million viewers to GMTV which struggles to get a million. Nobody has a higher opinion of Adrian than Adrian himself.
“Our research shows Adrian is not the reason people tune in for The One Show. It is about Christine not him, we will fight tooth and nail to keep her.
"When we are hosting the Olympics in 2012, something Adrian loves, he will be at home twiddling his thumbs.”
Chiles signed for ITV after hours of discussions near the BBC Television Centre. Negotiations started last week.
A source said: “He and ITV bosses toasted the deal in the early hours with a beer.”
The West Bromwich Albion fan’s switch comes after he admitted he was annoyed Chris Evans was being brought in by BBC boss Jay Hunt to host The One Show on Fridays.
In a parting shot, he said: “The chance to front ITV’s football coverage and GMTV would have proved an irresistible opportunity at the best of times. But, coming as it did at an awkward period for me at the BBC, it made the decision to leave not as hard as it might have been.
"It’s no secret how disappointed I was by the controller’s decision to change an apparently successful show, but respect her right to do so.
"I can’t wait to get started at ITV.”
The ITV source added: “The ramifications of Adrian’s move to ITV are huge, he was involved in so many BBC shows.
Ben, who has been at GMTV for 10 years, will stay until Chiles takes over. He plans to concentrate on primetime shows including Dancing on Ice and Krypton Factor.
Chiles’ appointment means Steve Rider will lose his role as the chief soccer presenter.
The architect of the deal was ITV’s director of television Peter Fincham. During his time at the BBC he made Chiles a household name when he put him on The One Show with Myleene.
Last night Chiles, who has worked for the BBC since 1993, was on The One Show. He has two weeks left on his contract. He will make his ITV debut during the opening of the World Cup on June 11.
A BBC spokesman said: “We would like to thank Adrian for his contributions to his program**mes and we wish him well.”
Christine’s spokesman said: “She hoped Adrian would stay, but she is happy at The One Show.”
Matthew Wright and Chris Hollins are among the presenters who could replace Chiles.
ITV introduced a review to cut costs when they took over the GMTV company last year.
TOP Gear star Richard Hammond has emerged as the favourite to take over from Adrian Chiles on The One Show.
Pint-sized Hammond, 40, nicknamed Hamster, tops a BBC wish list of candidates for the coveted role.
A senior source told The Sun: "We think Richard is perfect for the job as he's an all-rounder.
"He's known for Top Gear but he fronts science shows and has done a talkshow. He's also very ambitious."
The source added bosses will try to land "a big name" or plump for a "homegrown" One Show star - such as Rav Wilding or Matt Allwright.
Chiles, 43, defected to ITV on Monday in a £6million move.
It followed bosses' decision to dump him from Friday editions of the early evening show to make way for Chris Evans, 44.
A variety of stand-ins are due to join co-host Christine Bleakley, 31 - including Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris Hollins.
He was tipped as a possible replacement but BBC bosses have now ruled him out.
X Factor host Dermot O'Leary, 36, is another contender.
He will do a one-off show but pals said he was unlikely to sign full-time.
TV scientist Brian Cox and daytime host Matthew Wright have also been touted - alongside Terry Wogan.
Meanwhile, Chiles' other BBC jobs are up for grabs.
Radio 5 Live DJ Colin Murray is a contender for Match Of The Day 2 and BBC business editor Robert Peston has been suggested for Apprentice spin-off You're Fired!
Ben Shephard has quit GMTV after five years as a host of the breakfast show, according to a report.
The 35-year-old informed bosses of his decision just days before he was due to discover whether he would be axed, the Daily Mail claims.
A GMTV source said: "Ben has resigned, but will stay with us until the end of the summer. Obviously he felt it was untenable to stay and wait to see what was happening with his job.
"It was clear that he felt that he had to jump before he was pushed. Ben is still a face for ITV and I'm sure he will front other shows for them."
Shephard was yesterday tipped to be dropped by GMTV to make way for the arrival of new recruit Adrian Chiles.
Recent reports have claimed that Kate Garraway, Andrew Castle and Emma Crosby could also become casualties of the show's ongoing revamp.
Chris Evans is to be reprimanded by BBC bosses over comments that he made about Adrian Chiles on his Radio 2 show, a report has claimed.
The DJ was speaking to rugby stars Matt Dawson and Austin Healey in his usual breakfast slot yesterday when he joked about Chiles's decision to leave the corporation, The Mirror reports.
The on-air chat reportedly saw Evans claiming that he could get Dawson and Healey screen tests to take over Chiles's position on The One Show. After Dawson said that he would feel like a "warm-up act" for Evans, the broadcaster replied: "You are not the warm-up act for me. That is what the other guy thought and look what happened to him."
His remark followed Chiles's confirmation that he had quit the BBC in protest over plans to replace him with Evans in Friday episodes of the daily magazine programme.
A BBC source said: "This will not go unnoticed and Chris will have to explain himself. He is almost certain to get a dressing down where he will be reminded he has to be careful what he says on air, especially when referring to The One Show.
"He shouldn't be seen criticising Adrian for leaving the BBC and shouldn't give the impression he is extremely influential on a series he has not started on yet."
However, a spokesperson for the corporation played down the matter, insisting: "Chris always comments on topics of the day."
Journalist and TV presenter Matt Allwright is a strong contender for The One Show job, say reports.
According to The Mirror, the 40-year-old has emerged as a popular choice to replace Adrian Chiles on the teatime magazine show.
"Matt would fit right in," said a source. Allwright's TV credits include Watchdog, Rogue Traders, Scambusters and Food Poker.
Yesterday, tabloids claimed that Top Gear's Richard Hammond was the frontrunner to replace Chiles on a permanent basis. Other stars linked the the vacant role include Strictly Come Dancing champion Chris Hollins, Matthew Wright and Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding.

BBC 'to give Chris Evans dressing down'
Chris Evans is to be reprimanded by BBC bosses over comments that he made about Adrian Chiles on his Radio 2 show, a report has claimed.
A spokesperson for the corporation played down the matter, insisting: "Chris always comments on topics of the day."
And he hasn't even started yet!!
Adrian Chiles feels betrayed by former One Show co-host Christine Bleakley, according to reports.
The presenter, who last week defected to ITV from the BBC, apparently wanted more persuasion from Bleakley to stay at the corporation.
"Things have become highly uncomfortable between the pair. Christine always wanted Adrian to stay on the show, she thinks he's making a big mistake leaving," a source told The News of the World.
Another insider revealed: "That shows how edgy things are. They used to talk about everything, and the whole thing has been very stressful for her.
"It's been a very fraught few weeks. Adrian thinks she could have done more to help him and if she'd refused to work with Chris [Evans] they'd have been forced to abort the plans."
Chiles admitted that he was "disappointed" with the decision to hire the Radio 2 DJ for the programme's Friday editions.
ADRIAN Chiles' decision to vacate his spot on The One Show sofa has sparked a Battle of the Richards.
Both Richard Hammond AND Richard Madeley are now in the frame to take over as presenter.
The Sun told how Top Gear star Hamster was in pole position for the £750,000-a-year job after Adrian announced he was flouncing off to ITV.
But former chat show king Madeley has started talks with Beeb bosses to present the hit series with Christine Bleakley.
Our spy at the BBC revealed: "Hammond is still being talked about as a solid pair of hands.
"But Richard Madeley is also another strong candidate. He's been off the box for a while and is looking for a decent comeback gig.
"There have been informal discussions and Richard's keen as it's a great slot.
"He's an old live TV pro so it would make sense. And it's good exposure for him as Christine is becoming a real hot property."
Madeley, 53, wants to make a telly comeback after being off the box since last summer when the digital TV chat show he presented with wife Judy Finnigan was axed.
Judy - eight years older than her husband - has now pretty much retired from the spotlight to write her first novel.
Richard was given a boost after being profiled for ITV's Piers Morgan's Life Stories last year.
He went on to film a yet-to-be screened ITV reality show called All At Sea in which he and other celebs sail along the South Coast.
Beeb chiefs will be left without a full-time co-presenter for Christine, 31, after Adrian - who famously grew a beard on the show - bows out on Friday.
Rogue Traders' Matt Allwright will take over for the next two weeks - except on Thursdays when he will do Watchdog.
Have I Got News For You veteran funnyman Paul Merton is set to stand in next Thursday.

The One Show Stand-Ins
Watchdog presenter Matt Allwright will stand in as host of The One Show in the next two weeks, as the search goes on for a replacement for Adrian Chiles.
Comedian Paul Merton will also host an episode of the show on May 6, when Allwright will present Watchdog.
Adrian Chiles quit last week, intending to head to ITV on a four-year contract after his final One Show on 30 April.
Matt Allwright has presented a number of shows for the BBC, including Rogue Traders, Brassed Off Britain, and Fat Nation.
His continuing role on Watchdog means he will not be able to host The One Show on Thursdays, so Have I Got News For You regular Paul Merton was named to stand in.
A host has not yet been named for the following Thursday, May 13.
BBC bosses are so desperate to keep Christine Bleakley that they have offered her a solo show, according to the Daily Mail.
The plan comes after Adrian Chiles quit the corporation over its decision to let Chris Evans host the Friday night edition of The One Show in his place.
Chiles, 43, has defected to ITV in a reported £6m deal which will see him present GMTV and sports programming.
A BBC source said: "There has been interest from ITV for Christine. Last year, she was approached for talks about This Morning, and now they are definitely keen on her. Christine has become a star here and there is no way we want her to go. There are various Saturday night shows that are being discussed."
The 31-year-old's two-year contract with The One Show comes to an end at the end of the year.
Richard Madeley has confirmed that he would not be interested in hosting The One Show on a full time basis.
However, the 53-year-old presenter - who has been linked to the vacant position left by Adrian Chiles - said that he would consider fronting the show for "two-months at a time".
He told the Sunday Mirror: "I have been asked if I would be interested. And I would not be interested if it meant a full-time, year-round commitment.
"I just don't want to be tied to that kind of full-on job again. But if the BBC had a number of presenters who hosted the show for two months at a time then, sure, I'd want to talk about that very seriously.
"It's all very tentative at this stage. But I'm definitely not ruling it out. All of this is extremely flattering."
Chiles, who defected to ITV after a row over the hiring of Chris Evans, filmed his last One Show on Friday.

Matt Baker In One Show Frame
Former Blue Peter presenter and Countryfile host Matt Baker is in the frame to become the new presenter of The One Show.
Baker, who has been credited with turning the rural affairs show into a prime-time hit, will be tried out on the show alongside Christine Bleakley in the next few weeks.
Those involved in the show believe the 32-year-old is likely to be chosen to take the role permanently if his trial run on the popular show proves successful with viewers.
They believe he has the light-hearted touch that will be perfect for The One Show as a replacement for Adrian Chiles, who has moved to ITV.
SPORTS presenter Steve Rider has quit ITV after his job was gazumped by Adrian Chiles.
The veteran was left out in the cold after Chiles was hired to front World Cup coverage.
ITV said yesterday it had come to an "amicable agreement" and Rider would leave immediately.
Steve, 60, had joined ITV five years ago after a lengthy BBC career.
He had reportedly been considering suing after One Show host Chiles was poached from the BBC in a £6million deal.
Sources said it was written into Steve's £500,000 contract that he would front World Cup coverage.
But in a statement released by ITV, he said : "I wish Adrian all the best."

COMEDIAN Nick Hancock has emerged as a dark horse for Adrian Chiles' old job on The One Show.
An insider said: "Nick really impressed with his screen test and was considered by many to have been the best."
The 47-year-old ex-presenter of sports quiz They Think It's All Over also wowed bosses with a guest stint on the nightly BBC1 show.
Chiefs are thought to have whittled down the number of candidates for the co-hosting role to six, including Watchdog host Matt Allwright.

No I'm with you Jodi, I like Matt - so that makes two of us.
Jason Manford has been chosen to replace Adrian Chiles on The One Show, a report claims.
According to The Mirror, BBC bosses decided to offer the comedian the job after he impressed them in a recent screen test.
It is thought that the 28-year-old was among six candidates who were tested out for the position, but was the only one who had the right chemistry with existing host Christine Bleakley.
Manford already has his own ITV1 show Comedy Rocks and also regularly appears on Channel 4 programmes.
A source said: "Jason is seen by many in TV as a rising star. He has a growing number of fans and is very down to earth so he will appeal to lots of people.
"He's naturally funny, doesn't swear or get crude in his act, so there is no danger of him getting foul-mouthed on The One Show. Bosses wanted him, so even being on ITV shows didn't spoil his chances."
Insiders say that the deal will not be announced until contracts are finalised.
Jason Manford has been announced as the new co-host of The One Show.
The 29-year-old comic is to replace Adrian Chiles on the BBC One programme, presenting alongside Christine Bleakley from Mondays to Thursdays.
Manford said: "I am thrilled to be part of The One Show team. My dad put £10 at 500/1 that I'd get the job so it just made sense."
BBC One controller Jay Hunt added: "Jason looked instantly at home on the One Show sofa. His intelligence and humour strike just the right tone for the programme and he is an exciting addition to the team."
Meanwhile, the show's editor Sandy Smith commented: "Jason's strength is his likeability, his natural warmth and his quick wit. He's intelligent and curious about the sort of subjects discussed every day on The One Show and is equally at home with the light-hearted and the serious issues."
Chiles defected from the BBC to ITV last month after a row ensued over the controversial appointment of Chris Evans, who will front the programme's Friday editions.
STRICTLY host Tess Daly has been interviewed by the Beeb for Christine Bleakley's old job on the One Show.
The 41-year-old is being considered alongside Angellica Bell, who is a reporter on the show, and BBC newsreader Kate Silverton.
All three have been grilled and a decision is expected within weeks.
Tess insisted last month she won't leave Strictly after rumours the BBC wanted a shake-up.
Christine has joined ITV in a £6million deal.

Christine Bleakley could be told not to return to her One Show hosting duties if a replacement is confirmed this week.
The presenter, who will join ITV later this year, will return from a break on Monday to host the show with Adrian Chiles's replacement Jason Manford, reports The Sun.
"Christine being due back has focused people's minds. It might look a bit odd having Jason and Christine on the sofa together when she's leaving in September," a source said.
Bosses are currently screen-testing potential replacements for the 31-year-old.
Esther Rantzen's daughter Rebecca Willcox, who already works on shows such as Watchdog, is thought to be among the list of hopefuls, alongside Gabby Logan, Melanie Sykes and Kate Silverton.
Comedian Manford previously said that Bleakley had failed to contact him about her decision to move to ITV.
The BBC has confirmed that Christine Bleakley will not return to host The One Show.
It had earlier been reported that the presenter, who will join ITV later this year, might not return to show following a break if a replacement was found in time.
A statement said: "Following the BBC's decision to withdraw its offer of an extended contract to Christine Bleakley, we have agreed she will not be returning to The One Show.
"The BBC would like to take this opportunity to thank Christine for her contribution to the show and to wish her well."
The 31-year-old presented her final show on June 10 with Matthew Allright.
The corporation confirmed that guest hosts will take over the show on its return on Monday, July 12. Jason Manford, who takes over from Adrian Chiles, will begin presenting with Bleakley's replacement next month.
Tess Daly is set to replace Christine *Bleakley on The One Show.
The Strictly Come Dancing star has had talks with BBC chiefs about moving on to the chat show’s red sofa beside new host *Jason *Manford.
Christine won’t return to the programme after *announcing her *defection to ITV morning show Daybreak – where she will reunite with co-host Adrian Chiles – and it will have stand-in presenters until Tess and Jason start in August.
The Beeb is confident that Tess, 41, married to Family Fortunes host Vernon Kay, will have the same sparkling on-screen chemistry with Jason that WAG Christine had with Chiles.

But mum-of-two Tess’s commitments to Strictly Come Dancing mean she may share the role with another female *presenter – tipped to be One Show roving reporter Angellica Bell.
A BBC source said: “Tess is the one they are after. She has the sort of face you’d want to switch on to after a day at work. But there are *questions over how she will work round Strictly. One option is for Tess to anchor for most of the week with another presenter *stepping in for one or two evenings.”
Tess is no stranger to The One Show, using it in March to break her silence after her husband admitted sending racy texts to glamour model Rhian Sugden.

The BBC has confirmed that Welsh presenter Alex Jones will become the new permanent host of The One Show.
Jones, who has over ten years' experience fronting various television and radio programmes in Wales, will join Jason Manford and Chris Evans when the revamped version of the show is launched on August 16.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to bits to be joining The One Show," said Jones. "I watch the show at home every night on my sofa and can't believe I'm now swapping it for the One Show sofa!
"It is the break I have only ever dreamed of and can't believe I'm getting to work with Jason Manford, who I think is just fantastic - it truly is the icing on the cake."
Jones has already received praise from the corporation ahead of her debut, with Controller of Daytime Liam Keelan describing her screen test with Manford as "outstanding", while One Show editor Sandy Smith predicted that viewers will easily warm to the new arrival.
"Alex is warm, funny and very experienced despite being almost unknown outside Wales," Smith said. "It feels right for many reasons to be developing someone new at this time and I hope One Show viewers enjoy seeing her relationship with Jason develop on screen and take her to their heart."
The One Show is currently being fronted by a series of guest presenters following the well-publicised defection of original hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley to ITV.
The pair will reunite to front Daybreak, a revamped version of the channel's long-standing breakfast show GMTV.
NEW One Show Friday host Chris Evans is being paid more than TWENTY TIMES his sidekick Alex Jones' salary - £12,000 a show, TV Biz can reveal.
Evans, 44, is set to rake in £500,000 a year for one day a week on the BBC1 show.
Cheap option ... Alex Jones
Welsh stunner Alex, who landed Christine Bleakley's old five day a week job, is on under £500 a day.
That adds up to £100,000 a year during the show's 46-week run.
Evans will front 46 Friday editions of The One Show.
The huge salary is on top of the £600,000 he is paid for his Radio 2 show. He joins The One Show next month.
Evan's appointment caused a big row between the show's former host Adrian Chiles and bosses when TV Biz revealed it last November. Chiles eventually quit in anger and joined ITV. He then convinced his One Show co-host Christine, 31, to follow him.

Some BBC insiders have raised eyebrows at Evans' salary.
Bosses are cutting back on star pay and picked Alex, 32, as she was cheaper than the £450,000 they were offering Christine before she jumped ship.
One Beeb source said: "This is typical of the BBC. They are telling us to penny-pinch and have our wages cut.
"Then they pay Chris Evans more for a few days work than many of us get in a year."
But fans defended his pay. One said: "Chris is a TV legend, so he's good value at £12,000 a show.
"The new Friday edition will be based around him. If it fails, everyone will demonise him, not Alex."

John Prescott's wife Pauline is to become a roving reporter on 'The One Show'.
The wife of the former deputy PM will present short films for the BBC One programme, as well as joining the presenters on the sofa.
'The One Show's editor Sandy Smith told Broadcast magazine that he decided to sign Pauline after seeing her on a BBC documentary made by her husband.
He said: "We hope Pauline will bring her interesting perspective on life to ‘The One Show’. Coming from the North, and having been in the position she was, makes her a good person for us.
"We think she is, in a number of ways, typical of our audience."
Earlier this week it was announced that Welsh presenter Alex Jones will replace Christine Bleakley as the main co-host on the programme. She will present the show alongside Jason Manford from the middle of August.
