View Full Version : Eastenders bosses reveal killer clues
EastEnders bosses have revealed the three clues that pointed to Stacey Branning as Archie Mitchell's killer.
Stacey, played by Lacey Turner, confessed to the murder at the end of Friday's live episode, putting an end to the guessing game that has gripped fans for weeks.
Soap bosses said Stacey's guilt was hinted at three times in recent months - during the show's Christmas trailer, during Archie's funeral and during the Christmas Day episode of the soap when the tyrant met a grisly end in the Queen Vic.
Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted that Stacey was the first character to feature in the Christmas trailer.
In the Christmas Day episode, she had an unexplained disappearance and also reacted with horror when Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) handed her baby over to her.
And, during the funeral, Stacey was the only person angry enough to spit on evil Archie's grave.
Many characters had a reason to hate Archie, but Stacey particularly despised him as he raped her while she was struggling with bipolar disorder.

The spitting clue in particular seems so obvious now!

Oh I didn't spot these clues, and now they still don't spell out Stacey's guilt to me!!
No, they're hardly proper clues, are they? No wonder no one guessed it was Stacey. The fact that she spit on his grave is the only one that I think should have made me realise that she hated him the most.

but considering she thought she was carrying his baby, that could explain why she was uneasy about holding his grandchild

I agree. None of those are real clues. Why wouldn't she spit on his grave after what he did to her whether she killed him or not and why wouldn't she react like she did to holding his grandchild whether she killed him or not. Absolute non-clues in my opinion.
Even the great Beth Green would have found it difficult spotting these so called clues so what would the hapless Walford CID have had

There wouldn't have been time for any clues with Beth Green. She would have arrested Stacey about five minutes after the murder took place. She would have worked it all out instantly.
First of all, who's Beth Green?
Secondly, I know the spitting on the grave thing wasn't much of a clue, but don't you think it was done to signify that, of all the people at the funeral, Stacey was the one who hated Archie the most. That's why I feel that I should have considered Stacey after that. Yeah, she had good reason to spit on his grave, but so did several other people at the funeral. But it was only Stacey that had a violent reaction.
Beth Green was a character in The Bill, she also played Ruby Allen in EastEnders and is one of Alan 45's favourite actress (not)

what a load of bs:rotfl:I'm glad I didn't have a scooby doo it was Stace. When it was the Who Shot Phil storyline, I'd heard on the radio that it was Lisa that dunnit and it really spoilt it for me. :(
I thought it was a complete let down too. Ronnie has more reason to hate Archie than Stacey, especially since she revealed that Archie had raped her too. I didn't think that the spitting on the grave was a clue really; the other suspects just aren't really the type to go around spitting on graves. I think it being Ryan would have been more plausible than it being Stacey; he has history of being involved in that kind of thing, if they were going for someone who wasn't that obvious. I even thought Tracey was more likely to have done it than Stacey!

Yes she did. Bradley had a go at her at the time for drawing attention to the fact she hated Archie.
Seem strange that spitting on the grave is a clue considering Ronnie ripped up all the flowers... they were both mad at him..

If it had been Ronnie, the BBC would have said that was a clue!
