ANGRY detectives have slammed EastEnders over the portrayal of the police in its "Who killed Archie Mitchell?" storyline.
Fans saw cops on the soap chat to locals about the case, take bribes and even chase murder suspect Bradley Branning on to a roof before he fell.
Det Insp Alan Kalbfell, of the City of London Police, said the scenes could make the public see them as "unprofessional".
He said: "Viewers will think this is how detectives operate. This is damaging to our profession."
Seventeen million saw Stacey Branning - played by Lacey Turner, 21 - confess to killing Archie in last Friday's live show.
An EastEnders spokeswoman said the soap had a police consultant. But she added: "It might not always represent real life."
