2764: Jake answers Holly's phone
Airs on Thursday, February 25 2010 at 18:30 GMT on Channel 4

As the Osbornes prepare to join the search for Holly, Jake's worried when the police ask him to the station for questioning. Having seen the police, Jake returns to the search where Darren's his usual insensitive best. Darren riles Jake when he mentions the parallels that the police must be drawing between the current situation and Jake's past.

Jake turns to Loretta for support and she does her best to reassure him that everything will be fine. Loretta encourages him to be completely honest with her and Jake worries that Loretta believes he may have actually kidnapped Holly.

Meanwhile, Tony tries his best to give Cindy hope that Holly will soon be found but she can't help fearing the worst. They're introduced to their Family Liaison Officer who encourages them to televise an appeal for Holly. Cindy's enthused by the idea and wants to get stuck straight in but is frustrated as the police ask her to hold off until the following day.

Furious that she can't appeal to the nation immediately, Cindy sends Tony out to join the search party. As the search continues in the woods, Darren stirs Tony's guilt about Holly being his responsibility. Tony can't help but feel guilty and decides to take action.

Later, Cindy's horrified to see Tony on TV making an impromptu appeal on her behalf. When Tony returns home, he's stunned by Cindy's reaction to his appearance. Tony tries to calm her but Cindy lets him know that she blames him entirely for anything that happens to Holly.

In her anguish, Cindy desperately calls Holly's mobile again. Expecting her voicemail, Cindy and Tony are shocked when a mystery person answers. Unbeknown to them, it's Jake…

Ste's jealousy is spiked when he sees Rae looking on in admiration at Newt who's handing out 'Find Holly' posters. Ste tells a furious Rae that Newt told him that she's his girlfriend and to keep well away. Rae confronts Newt about it and he vehemently denies ever making a claim over her, remarking that it was just a joke. Jake's terrified that everyone thinks he's guilty and Loretta's forced to assure him that she believes he's innocent.

Loretta breaks down to Jake, admitting that the stress of being at the televised appeal might be too much for her to handle and they both agree to stay well away. Gaz awaits Lauren's arrival, primed with condoms for an afternoon alone at the Valentines'. His disappointment is obvious, though, when she arrives with Spencer in tow.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? However, he's already been out with Theresa, who's the same age as Rae, so I don't think he minds them a bit on the young side.
