Facebook apparently had to remove some pages because inmates were taunting their victims on the internet. Should prisoners actually be allowed to have access to the internet? :hmm:

No prisoners should have no access to to any luxuries including the Internet. They'dlucky they get oout in the fresh air for a half hour a day if I was in charge.

No the whole point of being in prison is you are taken away from normal life that its a punishment!

I was wondering whether I am the only one who would like to see harsher prison conditions such as no tv, newspapers and certainly no internet. But I guess it is their human rights to have all those things.:wall:

I don't see how it should be a human right.. it wasn't human rights to do what they did to end up in prison. I believe there should be harsher conditions.. Prison is more of a holiday camp than a punishment to most prisoners

Never seems to matter though when it comes to prisoners, the minute they harp on about human rights, the courts start quaking in their boots and let them have all they want. I would like to see them do a bit more hard work like they make them do in America so they are too tired to watch tv or surf the internet

I think if something happened to me or my family and the person went to prison for it was getting own TV,internet etc then I would be so mad.. I do think that prisoners should work while there.. even if is just picking up rubbish, cleaning canals/river etc.

The Daily Hate is at it again

Prisoners do not have uncensored, unmonitored access to the internet via computers. They are not allowed to access ANY social networking site or any site that they can use to communicate with the outside world. Yes, it is true some prisoners have been able to access Facebook but this is via mobile phones that have been smuggled into prisons.

The BBC actually reported on this a few days ago and the prison service is looking at ways to block phone signals from illicit phones inside the prison whilst still allowing communications outside the walls.

No it's not just you Perdy. My opinion is if someone is sent to prison then they should sleep in a 6 by 4 room with a matteress to sleep on and a pot in the corner to wee in. They have no feelings or remorse for their victims. And many offenders reoffend just to get the luxuries and free drugs they wounldn't get on the outside. They should recieve no luxuries. Stuff their human rights.

I'm all for harsher conditions. I wouldn't even give them a mattress. In my view they gave up their human rights when they committed the crime.

I would give them a mattress, they need to sleep good after a day of hard graft, I would make them work hard, repairing the roads for example, minimum basic accommodation and food. Take care of unwanted pets, walk the dogs, clean their kennels like they do in a US prison. Better than what they seem to be doing in UK, that is for sure, imo
