Adam owns up to the chemical spill
Airs on Monday, February 15 2010 at 19:00 GMT on ITV1

Jai and Nikhil are annoyed that the whole village is gossiping about them poisoning the stream. At Butlers, Paddy informs John that the lamb had a toxic chemical in its blood, which is commonly used on farms. At The Woolpack, the Sharmas smugly show Zak and Carl the negative test results from the stream.

Later, John's uneasy at Paddy's findings but remains adamant that the toxins can't have seeped from his farm because the chemical concerned is a banned substance. Worried, Adam heads to one of the barns where he's shocked to find a hollow barrel and residue on the ground where he knocked it over weeks ago.

Adam finally musters the courage and blurts out to his family he's to blame for the chemical spill. John furiously tells Adam that his mistake could cost them the farm. Will the Bartons be able to salvage their livelihood?

Meanwhile, Shadrach returns to the village and when he tries to play dumb about the house wreck, Zak snaps. Realising that Shadrach was drunk when the incident happened, Zak rails at his cowardice.

As Shadrach attempts to apologise, Zak growls that they don't need his help and leaves him out in the cold to find his own bed for the night. Gennie's torn when Shadrach turns up at Victoria Cottage.

Elsewhere, Natasha decides to stay with Maisie for a while when she visits her at the clinic. She's distracted, though, by Maisie's self-loathing attitude.

Back at the village, Natasha's livid to discover that Betty knows that Maisie's in a clinic and ruthlessly warns Nicola never to gossip about her family again.

Laurel's back

Is Sally still at the B&B or is she gone now?

Gone for the moment but she will be back. She said in a talkshow that she is in Emmerdale until May, and she is not just going away because Ashley told her to. Guess she might implicate Ash in a crime before she is going for good. :ninja:

Is Laurel actually back or is it a question of Diane reporting back what Laurel actually says.

I think she is back, why else would Ashley have to stay at the B&B?

WITH sinister Sally out of the picture, Ashley will do anything to win back Laurel. But it looks like he's out of luck when she claims their marriage is over!

"Laurel still blames Ashley for letting Sally into their lives," admits Charlotte Bellamy, who plays Laurel. "Ultimately, Sally did try to kill her."

When Ashley pays Laurel a visit at her mum's, he gets a frosty reception.

His wife even makes the vicar stay in a nearby B&B.

"Laurel has gone past being angry with Ashley," explains Charlotte. "But she doesn't know if she can forgive him." Ashley begs Laurel to come home, but she isn't ready.

"She can't even bear to think about Sally and the trouble that woman caused," says Charlotte.

Later, Diane and Doug also visit Laurel. As she talks to Diane, Laurel shares her deep misgivings about a reconciliation.

"Laurel believes that her marriage may be over," adds Charlotte, who has returned to the soap following the birth of her third child, Teddie Boo Florence, in October.

"Ashley got carried away with his role as vicar and saviour when he should have been looking closer to home."
