In a surprise development, Lesley and Sam have retreated to the bedroom for a quiet discussion in an effort to work through their differences.
After requesting Sam's forgiveness, Lesley and fellow "Team Britney" member Craig told her their feelings and opinions of her behaviour.
"Sometimes you come across as looking quite cheap... and I'm sure you don't want to come across as a cheap old sapper do you?" queried Craig.
"But at the same time I'm always like why should girls look cheap just because they're like... having a laugh or wearing certain clothes," responded Sam.
The conversation continued with Sam explaining that she likes having a laugh with Max and Anthony.
"Don't be made to think that you have to be a certain way to be accepted," said Craig, alluding to the perception he and Lesley have had that Sam was pretending to be a certain way to attract the attention of some of the male housemates. Sam conceded that many of the conversations she has with Max and Anthony are sex-related, but remained largely quiet in response to some of Craig's postulations.
Craig told Sam that he and Lesley often just like to "chill," and claimed that "certain people who lecture [Lesley] about how she treats you are quite prepared to sit there and leave you on your own, yet she [Lesley] is the one sitting in that room telling me that she feels sorry for that girl [Sam] and that's really harsh to see her on her own."
By this point, Sam began to look like she was feeling more comfortable. Craig pressed on, saying that it was Max and Anthony that fuel the "he said, she said" gossip and that they "enjoy" watching Lesley and Sam argue.
Sam considered this for a moment and then nodded. "I know," she concluded.
"We don't mean that they don't like you Sam," said Lesley, "what we mean is that they do like seeing us argue... and then can't handle it when I was trying to sort it out with you, d'you know what I mean?"
"At the end of the day, when people are isolated they're easier scapegoats," advised Craig sagely. "They pick people off one after one after one... they started with me, then Mary, then you, and then they sometimes do it with Lesley."
"I just couldn't always believe that people could do it," said Sam, saying she'd encountered other examples of what Craig was talking about "in her life."
"The best thing to do Sam is just to do what you want to do when you want to do it and if you don't agree with somebody, say it. People were frantic to come tell Lesley what you'd said about her because they were frantic to see what she'd do," said Craig, advising Sam to take her opinions directly to Lesley in future.
